MHKDesigns Challenge Time!

Good morning friends and welcome back to the MHKDesigns challenge day!  I'm excited to have you here for this September challenge.  Here is our challenge prompt for this month:

 So, so gorgeous, right?
I absolutely love the colors for this challenge and when I saw this Mum's The Word  set and Fabulously Fall digi papers I knew I had to put them together!  A lot of times when I'm going to color a flower or a particular 'something' I'll Google it to find a color palette I like and that will work for my card.  I Googled mum and the first photo I saw was a mum with a gorgeous red inner and yellow outer bloom...I loved it so I decided to try and replicate it.  I really feel like this came out just wonderful and I can't wait to send it out to the recipient!

Now I know you want to play along so hop on over to the MHKDesigns challenge post to find out all the information.  I hope to see you there!

Customer Challenge time at Jaded Blossom

Good morning and happy Green Bay Packers play today day!!  Yep, we are serious Green Bay fans living in enemy territory but we are super excited because we will actually get to see the game today...yay!

That isn't why I stopped by today though so I'll move onto that!  Today I'm sharing a card that I made for the Jaded Blossom Customer Challenge for this month which is use their dies.  Well that is easy now isn't it?  Here you go:
So for this card I used paper from Echo Park Paper called Teacher's Pet.  The dies I've used on this card from Jaded Blossom are the School Dies (pencil, paper clip, and spiral notebook edge die), Card Mat Dies and the Alphabet Dies.  Super cute and super fun to put together!

That's it for today so I hope you have a wonderful day AND that you will take a moment to reflect on where our country stands 15 years after a tragedy brought us all together AND what we can each do to make the world a better place.

Tale of an external hard drive...

Good Saturday morning friends!  I'm here to share a little behind the scenes in my croffice. If you've noticed I've not been sharing as much recently.  Part of that is because I had the fair that took up some of my time and part of that is because I've been volunteering a bit more at Care Net but part of that is because my External Hard Drive that has, literally, thousands of dollars of SVG files, collected over many, many years, and more on it - - died - - yep, died.

I almost panicked but I had a couple of tricks up my sleeve, one being my friend John who is a computer guru (Isn't it a blessing to have one of those people in your life?  YES!).  He said he'd take a look at my old EHD and thought he'd be able to save it...gave me 75% chance of that.  Well, he got to it and found that one little something had been singed...probably in a brown out we'd had (which makes sense once I thought about it) so he couldn't save it...darn it!  Well, my second trick was that I do back up off site and could have them send me a hard drive with the info and then I could transfer it to my own hard drive at the cost of almost $200, which remember how much I've invested in SVG files over the years isn't that much so....I ordered it and look what I'm doing this morning!!
I'm transferring over thousands of photos, SVG files, and documents.  I'm SO THANKFUL that I had this option.  That computer friend, John, is going to teach me how to use a system here at home to back up so I don't have to spend $200 if it happens again.  Can I just say that, as a girl, I'm super happy they have a fun berry colored EHD for me to purchase!  I know...I'm silly!

So, today you can be happy with me as I enjoy knowing I can get back to whatever creating I want to very soon!  Have a wonderful weekend all!

Foxy Thang

Good morning friends!  Now that Labor Day is over I hope to get back into my normal schedule of posting at least three or four times a week...starting today!  Today I'm sharing a fun new digital set with you from Imagine That Digistamps called Foxy Thang.  Here is a preview of the set:
Super fun images and sentiments, huh?  How about I share the card I made with the girl fox image?
I seriously love the facial expression of the cute!  I just wanted a birthday card so I added a birthday sentiment from the Flower Basket set to the bottom of the main image panel.  The card layout is from SVG Cutting files.

I used this card as the finished card in my fair decoration:
Well, there you have it...I hope you have a fantastic day and I'll be back soon!

You're Invited!

Good morning friends!  My time has just been taken up with fair 'stuff' so I haven't had much time to create BUT I had to play along with Stamp Anniething's monthly theme week which is to create something inspired by a movie, character, song, brand, etc so with the new Beauty & The Beast Live Action movie coming out in March I thought I'd make a card inspired by Belle.
I've used Stamp Anniething's Paige - Sugar & Spice image.  Then, because I love B&TB so much anyway I went to Etsy and found some B&TB papers to make my card and then popped Belle up on some foam dots so she really stands out.  I followed an old sketch and turned this card into an invitation using Jaded Blossom's new Invitation Galore set.

Well, that is it for me for today!  The fair officially starts today so I'll be over there several times helping out with 'barn duty' which is just making sure nothing in the Home Arts building gets destroyed during the fair.  Have a wonderful day!
