Jaded Blossom February Challenge

I'm back to share another fun challenge for you today!  Jaded Blossom's February Challenge is all about flowers!  Check out this gorgeous tag I made with the Springtime Greetings (which is also the February Monthly Spotlight set so it is on sale!) set and the Luggage Tag Dies:
I have to tell you the Springtime Greetings set has always intimidated me a little with the lilies as the stargazer lilies on my tag are my #2 favorite flower and I have some planted in my garden that are beautiful and smell so nice every year.  That is quite the pressure to make them look pretty, right?  I used my Copics to color the image and, as you see below, I also used a glitter pen to add some sparkle.  I also used a glaze pen on the sprinkler part of the can but it is hard to see in this photo.
Once I see little plants out at the store I plan on adding this tag to one of the potted plants and giving it as a springtime gift.

Well, I hope you take some time to join our challenge and if you do make sure you let me know so I can see your fabulous creation!

Great Impressions February Challenge

Hello friends!  Happy Sunday and welcome to the February challenge with Great Impression.  This month our challenge is:
This is the month to celebrate!  It's going to be fun to celebrate any occasion this month through our crafting this month at Great Impressions!  I can't wait to share with you the card I made!  Ready?
I started this fun card out knowing what image I wanted to use which is called Fun Coffee Cup H278.  Next I picked out the paper I wanted to use which has super fun colors and patterns.  I stamp the fun Coffee Cup onto kraft paper and then used my exacto knife to cut out the cup part behind which I put a complimentary patterned paper and made it into a shaker card with super fun contrasting sequins.  Of course a cute bow was in order so I used some twine to keep it clean.  A couple of Copic markers for some fun color on the straws and decoration on the cup scallops gives the image a fun vibe!
Inside I used the Triple Birthday Wish D513 stamp and an additional strip of complimentary paper.  Wouldn't this be fun with a coffee card inside and maybe a few more of those sequins loose inside the card just ready to pop out at you and stick on anything?  LOL!

A Chocolate Treat For You To Eat

Happy Friday friends!  Today is an exciting day for me as I am posting for the first time as the February Guest Designer for Jaded Blossom!  Woohoo!  Shall we just get right along to the fun project?
I thought it might be fun to make a special gift for my step-daughter for Valentine's Day so I decided to try to do a remake of a pop top can that I saw on my friend, Patti's blog.  The process is actually super simple, just read on...
I went to the store and purchased a pop top can of fruit (that my grandson got to enjoy!) and when I decided to do the decorating I flipped the can over and took the bottom of the can off with a smooth edge can opener.  I then removed the manufacturers paper so I could easily figure out the size of paper I needed to decorate and put on the can then I got to work.  What I decided to start with is the Heart Splatter set.  I used four different stamps from the set in four different colors and just randomly stamped them on my light pink textured cardstock.
After stamping the pink cardstock I attached it to the can with adhesive from my ATG gun and extra doubled sided tape where the ends over lap. Inside my can I added some charms for my step-daughters Origami Owl locket, Hershey's Kisses and Hugs, and a box of TicTac Be Mine mix.
On top (which is actually at the very bottom) I put some tissue paper to make sure things don't move around too much in shipment.  To put the bottom of the can back on I just used some glue around the edge of the bottom and then applied pressure which actually popped that bottom piece back into place though if you are putting something heavy in the can you want to make sure you have plenty of glue to hold it all together.

Finally I added two colors of twine to the top edge of the can and stamped the round sentiment and strawberry from the Chocoholic set then cut it with Jaded Blossom's Scallop Circle Dies.  I colored the strawberry with my Copics and added the fun white chocolate drizzle with a white gel pen.
And there you have it!  What fun it will be for her to open the can and find the fun treats inside!  I wish I could see her face when she does!

I hope you enjoyed this little Valentine's Day treat!  I'm going to enter this into the following challenges:

Bandit of love

Good morning friends!  Can you believe we are in February already?  It is the month of love...well, the month of Valentine's Day.  I know some people don't celebrate it because it is a commercial holiday but I am totally into showing extra love to my friends and family on Valentine's Day so how about I show you another card I I'm using some super cute stamps from Great Impressions Stamps...
As you can see I used a fun raccoon cut file (from Treasure Box Designs) along with the Bandit of Love Stamp on the outside.  As strange as it may seem I knew I wanted to use black or grey with this raccoon for the card base but of course  love calls for some red, right so I used red and white as the accent colors.  A little white gel pen on the raccoon really gave it some fun character.
And inside I added the Smokey the Love Bandit stamp and another little heart...can't have to many hearts in my opinion!  I left lots of room for a mushy note for my hubby!  I think I already made him a card for Valentine's Day but I often give him more than one throughout the day so this would be no different!

I would love for you to come and join our monthly challenge.  If you use a stamp from the Great Impressions online store, please link it up in our Customer Gallery, too!

I'm booked...

Happy Monday!  Did you have a wonderful weekend?  Mine was good though I think I'm getting sick again which is no fun at all, darn it!  I'm back today to share a Too Cute By Jessica file with you.  Today it is a wonderful bookmark made with the stack of books and bookworm files from the My Little Bookworm File.  This is such a cute file to use for anything school for sure but I also thought it would be cute to use for a bookmark.  Check it out:
See???  I told you that file is so fun, right?  The bookmark base was cut on my cameo and many of the other elements are from Jaded Blossom.  The bookworm file, in its original state, has glasses and a bow tie but I wanted my bookworm to be a girl so I lost the glasses, drew in eyelashes, made the bow tie into a 'hair' bow and added a crystal.  Just a couple of more sequins (from Craftin' Desert Divas) and crystals and I think it looks adorable!  I'll be giving this as a fun and practical Valentine's Day gift.

Please check out the Too Cute By Jessica blog tomorrow for a brand new challenge and please play along - - it's so fun and you could win a TCBJ file!

Pink, Red, and White

Happy Thursday friends!  I don't typically like color challenges all that much but Stamp Anniething is having their first challenge so I thought I'd join it.  It is to use the colors Pink, Red, and White.  Well, I love that color combo so why not give it a go, right?

I actually started off making this card by coloring the image.  I just chose some pink and red Copics hoping I could make it work for a card.  After I had her colored I saw this week's Freshly Made Sketch and decided I could make that work for what I wanted to do.  I'm still pretty new to the shaker card idea but I love this heart die from the Heart of Hearts Dies at Craftin Desert Divas so I knew I had to try it.  I've used SU! dazzling diamonds glitter paper (and boy is it glittery!) running it through my big shot with the die and then just pushing the little hearts that were cut by the die out and putting them aside.  I then found some acetate (I didn't think I had any!) and made the shaker.  I was going to originally use sequins and such but decided I would probably need to many so I thought a patterned paper and the cut out little hearts would work and it did!!  I added Kelly to the card and ran one of the arrows (from the same set linked above) through the big shot and placed it on top of the die.  I also added one of the die cut hearts to Kelly's shirt.  That panel is, of course, popped up and placed on the patterned paper and then both are on the base of SU!s shimmer paper.

Inside I stamped the Jaded Blossom Valentine Luggage Tag image and then layered in red with the white base.  Perfect, I think!  Soooo...what do you think of my Valentine Card in Pink, Red, and White?

Forever Yours

It's Tuesday...that means we've shaken off the dreaded Monday and are onto the fun of the week, right?  Excellent!  How about I share with you another card I made with some fabulous Great Impressions Stamps?  Okay...
I've made another Valentine's Day card using the following stamps:  E859S Forever Yours,A54S Hearts & Dots, and A78S Hugs & Kisses.  For this card I used papers from Jillibean Soup/Dutch Mustard Soup (which I've had forever), the main panel/wave panel is cut with a frame from Craftin' Desert Divas, and the heart is from SU!.  I also used Illuminate smooch on each of the solid hearts on the top layer of the card.  I LOVE the new to me Forever Yours stamp as it is exactly how I feel about my hubby!
Inside is just a little bit of patterned paper that was left from the main panel and plenty of room to write a sappy message.  *wink, wink*

I would love for you to come and join our monthly challenge.  If you use a stamp from the Great Impressions online store, please link it up in our Customer Gallery, too!
