October has arrived...

Good morning friends!  'Tis the time of year where Halloween is everywhere (and yes, I know Christmas stuff is out too but lets not talk of that, okay?) so I've started making some fun gifting ideas for my Facebook gift group (please feel free to ask for entrance into the group and let me make your treats, cards, and gifts just for you!).  Today I share a card with you.  I don't know about you but I like to send cards to my grandparents that live pretty far away and also I have a couple of nieces that love to get cards in the mail so I guess I have a few more to make, huh?  Anyway, here is the first of several cards that I'll have for sale in my shop:
This card was super fun to make and I really enjoyed coloring it!  So, I made an error and forgot to finish something before I took a photo of this...can you find it?  I just had to laugh at myself.  I have corrected it and it is all set to go now!

Alright, have a wonderful Monday friends!

Travel Log...

Good morning!  Had to laugh at my post's title...does anyone remember what it is from? hubby and I took a 2 1/2 week road trip this summer.  We had a wonderful time together (and we are even still!).  We got to see my niece at the Air Force academy, my grandma in Iowa and then we visited our family in Wisconsin to help celebrate my in-laws 50th wedding anniversary and my husband's nephew's marriage the following weekend.  5,000 miles on our car--phew, but worth it!

I made us a travel journal where we put in gas info and bullet journaled about our days...where we stayed, what we saw, what was good, what was bad, etc.  I love that journal and we plan on using it for future trips together.  I just wish I would have saved one page between each day to just throw one photo in from each day in there.  Oh well!  Without further ado...the travel log:
It was absolutely wonderful that I had just purchased some wonderful travel stamps from Jaded Blossom as they worked perfectly for this notebook and as it happens I had that paper just hanging around my croffice so that was perfect too!  I would encourage you to do something like this the next time you travel!

It's Friday...yay!  Tomorrow is World Card Making Day, are you planning to craft your day away?

Prayer Jar

Good morning friends!  I'm working on a super cutie Halloween card to share with you.  The creative process was interrupted yesterday so it isn't quite ready for reveal so I thought I'd share with you, instead, the prayer jar that I made.

When in Iowa as part of our summer road trip my step-grandma gave me a jar that she says was belong to my grandma (my beloved grandma).  While it was nothing special and who knows if it was actually hers I decided to 'do something with it' as all crafters do.  I asked around on a Silhouette Cameo group that I'm a part of and someone gave me the idea of a prayer jar.  A little more research and I found a file for both sides of the jar.  Without further ado...the jar...
This first side uses the scripture Romans 12:12 in gold vinyl.
And the other side is a silhouette praying girl.  I just love this side!

My prayer jar is designed to put pieces of paper inside so throughout the day I can either pull one or two or however many out and pray for that prayer request or I thought I could lay my hands on the jar a couple of times a day and prayer for all the needs written inside.  So far I have one prayer request which is pretty consistantly on my mind anyway so I look forward to having it full of things to talk with God about. to a productive day today!  Have a wonderful Wednesday!

The hardest to make...

The hardest cards to make have got to sympathy cards.  I've had to give several sympathy cards in the last month and mostly I've not made them.  I've had some Dayspring cards in my stash for awhile so I've used those and I made one a couple of weeks ago and today I made another.  I hope I don't have to do anymore for awhile!!

For this card I used the just newly released Sincere Sympathy set from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps.  I also used the sketch of the month from KKS.  The fabulous circle dies are from Jaded Blossom and the papers are all from a very old Taylored Expressions kit, love that I still have many of those available for use!

Inside is a simple sentiment along with another piece of patterned paper.  A little faux stitching finishes off the inside.

I've actually be crafting quite a bit recently just haven't had the time to share so I thought I would start with this card.  I'm also working on getting a schedule of sorts going now that Kyler is back to school.  I've put a cleaning schedule into place and I think I've set my afternoon hour(s) in my crafty room as well so I should be able to schedule posts in the afternoon for a next morning posting.  Hopefully that will get me going again.  :)

Popping by...

Happy Weekend!  Wow did my week go by quickly, how about you?  I thought I'd share with you a fun thank you card that I made...who says thank yous have to be boring?
This fun file is from SVG Cutting files and is from the Movie Night Slide Cards set.  The words 'thank you' were just a set of words that I had and used for this project.  A little bit of white ink on the black to make it look like it has been erased on and some highlighting and tahdah!
And then on the inside a theater like sentiment from Jaded Blossom's Kind Thanks set.  This card was really simple to make and gave me that wow style!

I'm excited to announce that I will soon be opening a group on Facebook where I'll be selling many of the creations that I make.  If you would like to be invited to that group please do let me know and when I'm ready for visitors in the 'shop' I'll add you!

Good morning friends!  Wow, it's Thursday already?  Has your week gone as fast as mine?  I'm pretty impressed though I've gotten more crafting in then I thought I would!  I finally made myself sit down and make a sympathy card yesterday.  Our sweet neighbor's daughter died about a week and a half ago after a 5 year battle with cancer.  Can I just say...cancer sucks.  It takes way too many lives!
I think because of the fact I don't like to make sympathy cards I find they are much more clean and simple.  For this card I used the PTI set With Sympathy, layered it with some rose red colored cardstock, punched out some butterflies and stamped (and wrote) a sentiment inside and decided it would be good.  I also placed some Hershey's Nuggets in a little baggie, tied it with some twine and will give it to our neighbor as I know I love some chocolate when I'm grieving and I'm glad to be across the street to give her some hugs regularly!

Tonight is my volunteer day at Care Net and then my son's senior pictures so I'm not sure I'll have time to get crafting done but I'll see you back here soon!  Have a great Thursday!

Oh Snap!

I got the occasion to make a little birthday something for one of the instructors at Jazzercise yesterday and boy did I have just the right crafty goodness to get it accomplished!  Check it out and then I'll list what I used!
Even though it is Jazzercise I thought a little treat is in order so I made this Hershey Nuggets holder with the fabulous Candy Caddy die from Jaded Blossom.  The balloon are from the Birthday Dies set of dies and the banner is from the Dimensional Banners set of dies...all also from Jaded Blossom.
And here is the cutie birthday card.  This image is from the Fitness Junkie set from Jaded Blossom, the Happy Birthday circle is from the Happy Birthday Candy sets from Jaded Blossom as well.  Even though you can't see it the image has a fun little blush in the cheeks as you would taking this instructors class!  The card layout is a layout from SVG Cutting Files called Bracket Card.  Orange is the instructors favorite color...can you tell?  ;)
The papers I used on these projects are from an old, old SU! Simply Scrappin' kit.  It is perfect for this though!  Go HERE to get to Jaded Blossom's store and go here to check out SVG Cutting Files.

I can't wait to see how she likes it tomorrow!  And yep, I'll be wearing orange just for her!  Have a fantabulous day!
