HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
gotten 9 techniques back but only received 6 and of that only two had the directions on the back. I was hoping to use these for stamp club ideas and still can...I'll just have to dig a little further for the directions. So, drum roll please...Aren't they all cute? I do have to point out one in particular. The poinsettia is all dry embossed. I have a light table and some embossing templates but we've never done it and with inspiration like that? We must try it! I posted the ATC that I sent again just so you could see it as well.
day! They are from the Stinkin' Cute Swap that I was in a few weeks ago. I love this swap because it really shows how versatile
this cute little set can be. There are Christmas cards, summer cards, and just plain cute cards in all color families. I like doing swaps that are smaller. Some swaps you can do upwards of over 25. This was a small 5 card swap which was perfect for me! Enjoy!
This card and it's cute little ladybug is made with the SAB set Very Punny. The actual saying with this stamp is *bug me any time*...it just didn't fit my purpose. I used Crosshatch and Big Pieces for the backgrounds and Warm Words for the sayings. Gingham ribbon and stickles round out the card. This layout is based on Sketch Challenge 102 from SCS. A new sketch is posted every Wednesday if you are interested in joining in. I'll be looking to see what the sketch is for today a little later.
the prize was some wonderful die cuts for me...scalloped squares and circles and some cute hearts (I'm working on a card with the SAB set Very Punny and the scalloped squares!). BUT she also included some candy that she makes for her family at Christmas (yummy!) and some potpourri that she makes, as well! I'm going to put the potpourri on the stove today! Oh, and do you see that incredible cute note card she made? Thank you so much Gwen!!!
(thanks Kathy!) and make a note card set. I just stamped three fish and colored it in with colors from a picture of a certain type of salmon (can't remember which one) that Kyler picked out. I stamped one reel or fly on each envelope and then to finish I stamped and then colored the fishing scene on the front of the folder. I'm still not sure I like that...I may do it again with some layering to make it look a little nicer but for now it's fine. I used velcro to close the note card folder instead of ribbon or twine simply because I stamped directly on the envelope. I'll probably change that if I re-do the folder.

like at this place as it was pretty up scale and very nice. We ordered shrimp cocktail and stuffed potato skins (they didn't call it that but that is what they were). The shrimp came in a mason jar looking thing packed in water, ice, and veggies...the dipping sauces were in baby jars...and the lemon to squeeze on the shrimp was wrapped in lace. Very cute! The potatoes skins were stuff with bacon, crab, and meatballs...not all on one though. they were yummy with the *real* sour cream they brought us. I say real because I only buy low fat or fat free sour cream...what a treat!
most was going up in the "Eiffel Tower" at the Paris Hotel. I'm not much of an elevator person (especially if you can see outside of it!) so the ride up was not much fun for me and took FOREVER!!! Anyway, the view was beautiful! Just about everywhere you go they take your picture and you can view them for possible purchase later. We did buy pictures because we knew that we wouldn't have many of the two of us. So here we are at the base of the Eiffel Tower.
choose to go on a gondola ride. We needed to sit for a little while anyway and it looked so nice. It was lots of fun..except for the people staring at you as you go by. You see the shops are lined with sidewalks (of course) and the water way is in the middle so everyone stops and watches the gondola's going by. I didn't really like being in someones picture but I guess when you do that stuff you put yourself out there for that kind of thing. Anyway, here is that picture.

God the elevator was fast!). I had asked to upgrade our room when we checked in and we got a one bedroom suite on the 36 floor...just two floors from the top! As you can see we had a great view!
much Coke stuff...who would have known?
Golden Nugget on Freemont St. and it was FABULOUS!!! It is called The Grotto (it's Italian food) and is right inside the Golden Nugget. Our appetizer salads were called Pear Carpacciobosc pears with baby spinach, tomatoes, Gorgonzola, and sherry balsamic vinaigrette) and Pomodori e Cetrioli (thin sliced tomatoes and cucumbers with Gorgonzola and extra virgin olive oil)...yum, yum, yum, yummmmm!!! We are going to try and replicate the Pear Carpaccio here at home. Honestly, of all the places we ate while in Vegas this not only had the best food but it also had great ambiance, prices, portions, and wait staff!!! If you go to Vegas you must eat there! I'm busy uploading the other 73 pictures I took. If you'd like me to send you a slide show of our trip just e-mail me or post a comment and I'll do it!
Birthday. The card stock is Perfect Plum, So Saffron, Basic Black, Whisper White, and Designer Paper from the Loves Me paper pack in the winter mini. Ink is Perfect Plum and So Saffron. And finally, the accessories are Dimensionals, SS Brads, White Grosgrain, and stitched ribbon from Sweet Shop Originals. Speaking of stitched ribbon. SU! just announced that the stitched ribbon in the In Color colors will continue to be available for the rest of the catalog year! Yay! I thought I missed my opportunity to purchase more...but alas, no! SU! saved me!
