To My Pumpkins

Being a good person is like being a pumpkin.
God lifts you up, takes you in, and washes all the dirt off of you.
He opens you up, touches you deep inside & scoops out all of the yucky stuff -- including the seeds of doubt, hate, greed, etc.
Then He carves you a bright new smiling face & puts His light inside of you to shine for all the world to see.
This was passed on to me from another pumpkin.
I liked this enough to send it to all of you ... the pumpkins in my patch.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Although I've seen it in many forms I got this version of the saying from THIS blog!

Secret Christmas Angel Swap

After having so much fun with the Halloween swap that I participated in on SCS I thought it might be neat to do something like that with my blog friends so here is how it works. All your questions about this swap will be answered if you read the information below. It is critical that you send me your e-mail and snail mail address. I can't contact you if I don't have your e-mail address!

Christmas Angel Swap

*Sign up for the swap by November 1st and by Nov 3rd you will have your assigned swap partner's name and address. Once you have that you will be able to look back at this post for their wish list. Please be sure when you comment on this post that you'd like to participate that I have some way to get a hold of you...in other words please leave your e-mail and snail mail address or e-mail me personally so that I have all your info!
*Comment on this post 5 stamping related things you'd really like to receive from your Christmas Angel. The minimum gift cost for this swap is $15 and you can spend up to $25.
*When you have your partner's name and such get started making, buying, or a combination of both the things your partner has said she would like.
*Mail your partner's box by Nov 21st and watch the fun as people receive the boxes and comment back here about what they got...it is a very rewarding experience. Remember if you are going to ship to Canada it takes longer for them to get their packages so maybe send it a little earlier so they can receive their goodies about the same time we do!

Here is the big thing...Please Do Not Sign Up For This Swap If You Have Any Inkling You Will Not Be Able To Follow Through. As a matter of fact maybe a couple of people would be willing to be back ups in case someone doesn't follow through.

So, who is first?

edited to add...

**I think Canadian swappers are just fine! If you are signing up for the swap but don't want to mail to Canada...please mention that in your post or your e-mail to me and I'll take that into advisement when I partner everyone up.**

Also, current day's post is below this one!!!

Angel Swap, Local News, and SpongeBob!

Okay, ladies! Did you sign up for my Christmas Angel swap? You did? GREAT! Now, did you send me your snail mail address so that I can give it to your swap partner and actually receive the cool gifts she has for you? I know that I need to hear from Karrin, Lorrie, and Connie as to their snail mail addresses otherwise you won't be able to participate. And, one friend of mine who shall remain nameless hasn't listed her wish list yet. Neither have I but, still!

Now, for local news. I miss my stamp club! I was always so stressed out trying to do my absolute best every month before that it was nice to be off for awhile and not worry about it but now...I want to be creative with you again! I am hoping that my stamping friends in my area will be interested and e-mail me. From there we can decide on how often, the day of the week, and the time. Please let me know if you would be interested!

And finally, Kyler carved his pumpkin last night and did a great job! He wanted SpongeBob and SpongeBob he got!

Hope you all are having a great Tuesday and I'll see ya tomorrow!

A Christmas card and a clip

A couple of the blogs that I visit on a fairly regular basis post sketches for us to try. One such blog is Jen's blog called I heart 2 stamp. Her sketch this weekend was something I immediately thought I would try but once I got into it I wondered what I was thinking. Basically I started with the wrong set but the card I ended up with is great...I think! You can see what I used to make the card HERE (you can comment too!). I love how the Cuttlebug just works so well with the Snow Burst set! A little bit of heat embossing and there you have it!

The other thing I made was this fun binder clip. I've been seeing these around the Internet recently and finally ordered some. I got the BIG 2" size, used designer paper 1 15/16" x 3 1/4" (remember these measurements are for the 2" size clip you'll have to adjust the size of the paper for other sizes) held down by sticky tape in 5 different places on the paper. I found if you don't use tape top, bottom, middle, bottom, top (does that make sense?) of the paper then you will get little poofy area's and the binder clip will wobble when it sits (and it will fall down!). For the decoration on this one I used SU!'s Scallop Punch and the Season of Joy poinsettia. I tied some Red Grosgrain on the sides and I was done! You could use this for a card holder, recipe holder, 6X6 page holder, just about anything that isn't too heavy. I've made two and they are holding my most recent card creations. These are quite fun, easy, and fast to make so go ahead and try it! If you make one go ahead and leave me a link so I can see yours! :o)

There you have it! Have a great Monday everyone!

Introducing...

Introducing my new stamp...Hanna! Isn't she just the cutest? I got the first offered Hanna Stamps set awhile ago but was having a terrible time coming up with a card I liked. Not because of Hanna (did I say she is soooo cute?) but because I was just blocking for some reason. Anyway, I finally sat down last night, ditched everything else I had done, and started over. Low and behold I came up with this Hanna Christmas Shops card. Don't you just love it?! You know what else? I'm learning to appreciate acrylic stamps. Yikes! Did I say that? Being clear makes it so easy to place the stamp right where it needs to go! I used some textured paper and elements from the SU! Simply Scrappin' Kit Winter Bright for some accent, added some White Taffeta ribbon (LOVE that stuff!) and taadaa! Hanna is Christmas shopping! Full details can be found HERE. The card is a 'Z' fold card and is Beate's weekend challenge layout. They are sooo easy to make so go ahead...try one yourself and if you do...leave me a link so I can see it, too!!!

Do you like Hanna and want to check her out for yourself? Well, visit Kristi's store and discover the first TWO sets that she has released AND get free shipping on the sets until she gets her official store up and running! Exciting!

Well, I hope everyone has a great weekend!

The Cutest Skeleton!

Alright, you may or may not know that I don't really like scary stuff. Cute stuff at Halloween is great but if it is scary...I won't be there. Well, I got a skeleton RAK in the mail the other day and thankfully it wasn't scary. As a matter of fact it is so cute I must share! The front is cute in and of itself but when you open it up and see the skeleton on the inside...GREAT!

Unfortunately, I couldn't tell you where the stamps came from but I sure think she did a great job making this card!

Don't forget about the Christmas Angel swap in the post above. I believe we have 10 people participating now...it will be fun!

How cute!

Hello all! I've had a great response to the Secret Angel Swap that is at the top. Eight people have signed up so far! Woohoo! There is still time to sign up and room for lots more so go ahead...you know you want to! After the sign up deadline I'll be putting a link to the swap information in the left hand column so it is easy for everyone to find!

Look what I received in the mail last week! I helped my friend Debby with a couple of questions that she had on her blog and she sent me this stinkin' cute post it note holder! Did you notice it is pink? How did she know that I LOVE pink? I know that the polar bear is from a retired SU! set but I'm not sure the name. I believe the base cardstock is Pink Passion. Maybe Debby will comment and tell us the measurements and such...please? I put this in my purse so that I always have a piece of paper available. Now, if the pen were that easy to find! LOL!

You enjoy your day and sign up for the swap!

***Edit: Debby was kind enough to share her instructions in the comment section but I thought I'd put them here as well. Thanks so much Debby!***

Cut card stock at 3 1/2 x 11 and score at 5 1/2 and then 1/2 inch from that on both sides. This makes so it will be mountain and valley folds so that the post it paper fits inside with out it looking bulky. Stamp your card stock with snowflakes. I did the inside and outside with the same snowflakes. Punch with the word punch at the top for a handle. Put a ribbon across the middle and stamp your image on ww card stock, color in and layer on a coordinating color. Mount this to post it note cover. And your done! Now wasn't that an easy project to make? Optional: I added Crystal Effects to the scarf, skates and hot choc and heart on the cup to make them stand out more from the bear. I love the effect this give the bears.

Cards...

But not just any kind of cards! Pokemon cards. Remember when you saw the picture of Kyler with the Pokemon frame? Well, a very sweet lady named Patty e-mailed me and told me that her husband and son had a ton of them they didn't play with anymore and would Kyler like some. Ummm...yeah...I think he'd like them! Well, her box came in the mail yesterday. Unfortunately I couldn't let Kyler open it yesterday (mean mom!) but today, once all of his chores were done, he got to open it. Ya think he's happy about that? Sorry the picture is so dark...it was pretty foggy here this morning. Thank you so much Patty!
He is all busy categorizing the cards and making them just so...it is cute! Speaking of Kyler and cute...'cuz he is cute I tell ya!

He, of course, needed to make a thank you card for JoAnna so here is a little picture of him coloring the images. He's still at that age where he has his tongue out when he's concentrating. So cute! And, JoAnna, if you are reading this don't look to close 'cuz I'm sure he'll want the card to be a surprise!

I hope you all have had a fantastic Tuesday! See you tomorrow!

Mmmm...Tacos!

Got this news from Arms Wide Open...

I'm here!

Hi All! Busy day yesterday so I didn't get a chance to post. We went to Seattle and had family pictures done. Kind of a frustrating process but I'm glad to have gotten them done! And, Monday's are my staff meeting day at work so I'm almost always there on Monday mornings. I'm planning a Fall Fest at the church and really need to get some stuff done!

So...here is your artwork for today...This is a card made with the My Favorite Things set called Think Pink. You can tell that it is a set to support cancer and with that they are donating 50% of each set sold to Breast Cancer research! You can see the MFT website HERE.

You can't see it very well in the picture but IRL this card is very sparkly as I've used my Spica Glitter Pen on all of the words. I think this Cuttlebug background works so well for these types of cards. It is called You and has words such as extraordinary, dear, sweet, strong, etc on it. The Celebrate Life stamp is from the SU! hostess set, So Many Sayings, that I took and cut into individual sayings. So much easier to use this way! :o) If you want to see what else I used to make this card you can click HERE to go to SCS.

Hope you had a great weekend!

Bella and her Fella

Wanna see what Todd and I look like when we are Christmas shopping? Yep, that is us! LOL! Nah...I am not even close to being that thin although Todd is almost there...he's lost a ton of weight recently and he looks great!

I made this card for a swap that I joined on Bellaholics Anonymous. We are supposed to take a Bella or Bellafella stamp that isn't specifically for Christmas and turn it into a Christmas card. (Wow! Long explanation on that! LOL!) I love this Retailfellabella stamp so I decided I must use this one. All of the cards that I made have different little saying squares at the bottom left of the card. I used my Copic markers to color these guys in and then with this one I used the colorless blending marker on Bella's jeans. Unfortunately, it bled the black ink a little so I didn't want to chance it on the other cards and didn't try to blend the pants on those. I just, last night, ordered a different colorless blender that looks to have a smaller tip so hopefully it will be easier to use in small spaces such as these. Isn't this just cute? Simple but still a great card...at least I think so!

I think I'll try my other Thomas Kinkade stamp today and see what I can do with it. I hope everyone gets lots of stamping time in today!!!

How I made this card:

Cardstock: Shimmery White, Wild Wasabi, DSP from Winter Bright Simply Scrappin' Kit
Stamps: Retailbellafella
Ink: Adirondack Pitch Black, Real Red
Accessories: Silver Brads, Die Cuts from Winter Bright SSK, Dimensionals, and Fiber-Art Stencil

Thomas Kinkade

You may or may not know that we like Thomas Kinkade paintings out our house. As a matter of fact we have a Victorian Light Gallery Proof signed by Mr. Kinkade that hangs in our living room. Anyway, when Cornish Heritage Farms came out with TK stamps awhile ago I knew I had to have at least one and went ahead and bought Forest Chapel and Village Christmas stamps. I finally worked up the courage to try to use my Forest Chapel stamp today and well...it was a little more difficult than I had hoped but over all I think this is pretty good. I had a heck of a time getting the stamp to be level on the paper. The SAMJ wouldn't work so I did best by eyeballing it but never got a straight image. I also really wanted to use the scripture verse but wasn't sure what to do with it so it kind of looks like an after thought. Why am I telling you what I don't like about it? Because, I think it helps others to make better choices and we all need to know that everyone makes things they aren't necessarily thrilled with. I am encouraged enough to try again though.

How about seeing something I do like? LOL! I made this 12x12 scrapbook page at Regionals last weekend with the stamp set So Much. I really like the simplicity of this page and the amount of room it gives you for either two pictures or one picture and some journaling. See the embossed 'dots' around the Soft Sky circle? That was made with a Crop a dile! How cool is that...you can emboss with it too! It is quite the tool, I'm tellin' ya!

I hope you all have a great Friday night and I'll see ya tomorrow!

Pokemon

Isn't it interesting how from one child to the next fads and interests change? Isn't it even more interesting when your children that are 10 years in age apart end up liking the same thing? In my house...it is Pokemon and Legos. Although Legos are something new that Kyler has decided he likes Pokemon is something he's loved forever and that Scott loved when he was a kid. It is funny to hear them talk about it sometimes!

So, remember when I told you about JoAnna? JoAnna is the very talented girl who set up her own blog for a school project and is just rockin' it now! I love her work! You must go see it HERE! Why am I mentioning this again? Because on one of her posts she had shown a picture of a cute Pokemon frame that she had made with extra Pokemon cards. Now...in my house there is no such thing as extra Pokemon cards so I knew there was no way I could make one of those for Kyler. I left a comment for JoAnna about how cute I thought it was and that Kyler loves Pokemon. You know what she did? She e-mailed me to see if she could send it to him! How sweet is that? Well, we got it yesterday! Kyler was just so enthralled that she made the frame with the cards and he LOVES it! The frame is currently sitting at Kyler's spot at the kitchen table but won't be able to stay there indefinitely. I'm sure we will find the perfect spot for it in his room!

So...I have found out that JoAnna loves purple and I'm going to put together a little thank you package for her. Of course it will have to be purple! Kyler wants to make his own thank you card too so I'll post it all when I know JoAnna has received it!

Again, THANK YOU SO MUCH for your kindness JoAnna!!

Regional Projects

These two cards were made at Regionals with the stamp set that we got with our registration, So Much. Although the smaller card's photo turned out well, the other one sure didn't. Sorry about that!

The first square card is actually a special fold that I think I'm going to do a tutorial on. When you open it up there is a diagonal pocket for a gift card or cashola. Very cute!

The other card is a special "fold" as well but it is easier to explain. The Kraft card stock in 4 1/4 "x 5 1/2". The Purely Pomegranate Textured paper is 3 1/4" x 8 1/2" scored at 4 1/4" and then just adhere the back portion to the Kraft card stock and you are all set! Simple but neat affect. You can add the scallop to the bottom by using your corner rounder on a 1" x 4 1/4" piece of card stock (here it is the Soft Sky).

I've already made a couple of cards using the 2nd layout and I love them! Hope you all have had a great day!

It's Official

If you are coming to visit me...stay off the sidewalks for a little while! Jon got his learners permit today! Holy cow you guys! No, really he only got 3 wrong so that is great and I'm super excited for him! Just had to share the fun news!

More about Portland

As you know at the SCS dinner I had the chance to meet lots of fun people. One of them was Abbie. She sat at the table next to us and was, initially, by herself. We chatted and she was nice enough to give us one of her cards that she was going to swap that night...cool! The card is made with the stamp set Simply Said with Certainly Celery, Regal Rose, and Chocolate Chip cardstock. On the bottom she used a piece of vellum and stamped it with the little flowers. You can check out her blog HERE.

The other fun thing I received at the dinner was a door prize. Everyone was supposed to bring a door prize and then during the evening they would just pick one of the door prizes up off the table and call a name of a person there and they would receive that door prize. Quick, easy way to do it! Funny thing is...I felt like the girl who is last to be picked in PE class. Okay, I wasn't last but pretty darn close! Anyway, this is one of the clear window tins that are so hot right now. Papertrey Ink has some of the smaller size HERE. What is neat about this idea is that all you have to do to make this a really neat gift is wheel some address labels with the theme of your choice and then wrap the labels around your Hershey's Nuggets candy. Add a ribbon or two and you are all set. The person who made this must have known it was coming to me because in the little envelope is a Starbucks card. She also personalized the envelope by adding a stamp from the set Be Happy. What a fun and quick gift this is! the best part is that the receiver could reuse the tin if they'd like!

I'm taking one more day to kinda chill out. The doctor said I have a sinus infection...which I could have told you and I'm on double strength antibiotics. I can't totally chill out though because I have to take Jon to the DOL today to get his driver's permit. Yep, that is right...we'll have another teenage driver in the house soon! So, did you know that since our last names are different I have to 'prove' that I'm his mom? I'm trying to figure out how to go from last name #1 to last name #3. That is a lot of paperwork! I'm going to go through my files this morning to see what I can find to help me out. I'll also take pictures of the projects we made while in Portland so you guys can see them. While I was making them I wasn't sure if I liked them but now...I do!

So, you guys have a fantastic day! See you later! :o)

To Portland We Went

Alright a post about the trip to Portland, then the shower and doctor for me today. The trip itself was quite uneventful. It isn't to difficult to get to Portland itself and we found the exit for the hotel just fine. I do think we went around the same block three times to find the hotel though. It is in a very downtown part of Portland and just looks like any other business. Their sign was very small compared to what you would normally see. Anyway, we drove in and Richelle and I just looked at each other...then Richelle said..."what did you get us into?". Okay, now honestly, the hotel looks just fine on the internet. It is three stars (although priced much higher than that) and says it is a modern type of hotel. Really, it is a Motel 6 remodeled and not remodeled well. The first room they sent us to smelled HORRIBLE. Just like a barn...it was great. Oh, and my favorite thing. They provide you with a condom for use during your visit. How special! We decided we couldn't stay in that room so we asked for another. This one didn't smell quite as bad but still bad enough. They did find us another room but it wasn't ready yet so we had to leave all of our stuff in their office and when the room was ready they put our bags in it for us. We took a cab to Rock Bottom Brewery where the SCS dinner was being held. That wasn't so bad. Honestly, it was the most calm cab ride I'd ever taken. Whew! So the dinner was fun and I got to meet several of my favorite stampers on SCS. I'll tell you who everyone is in the pictures in just a minute. I must tell you about our return to the hotel.

When we returned to the hotel the lady at the front desk was canoodling with some guy (oh, did I tell you that their t-shirts say...get a room...nice, huh?). When we walked in she told us she had our room ready and our stuff was in it. I looked at the guy and said that surely he would walk us to our room since we were two women alone. He said of course he would. In the meantime I had my pepper spray out and in my hand and told him loudly I would spray someone and he could beat them if necessary. This 3rd room they gave us was way back in the corner and we were told it would be nice and quiet. NOT!!! Once we got in the room we locked the door and before we went to bed I put my suitcase and two chairs in front of the door! I slept with my cell phone and pepper spray by my side and when I'd roll over...they came with me! We were never more thankful to leave a hotel in our entire lives!! Aren't you glad you didn't go with us?!

Anyway, onto the pictures. The top picture is Joy, Jessica, Jami, and me. Next I am with Cambria. Then, I am with Beate. Then I am with Lori and Beate. And finally I am with Sharon. Now, I know most of these ladies have great blogs of their own and I will come back and link to them for you but I really need to go get in the shower here pretty quick. All of these ladies were so super nice! I had a great time and like I said...it was neat to meet everyone!

Tomorrow's post I'll have some artwork to show you! Oh, do you like my hair? That is the color I got on my birthday day at the spa. Isn't it great?!

Alright everyone...have a great day!

Guess what came on Saturday for me?!

I got my box from my Halloweeney Sister! Oh my goodness everyone! It is absolutely amazing! As you can see from the first picture I got a Halloween box FILLED with cool stuff! Included is a Halloween towel, some Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon, an orange post it note pad in an absolutely adorable holder, a Halloween 2-5-7-10 box filled with Dove chocolates (yummy!), a very cute purple springy spider, some fall scrapbooking accents, a super cute card, an a countdown to Halloween clipboard for my fridge!!! The second picture shows the clipboard up close. Can you believe it? I feel so spoiled!!! Please click on the pictures so that you can see everything up close.

So, I want to tell you guys all about Regionals as it is quite the story but while gone I seemed to have caught a bug that is affecting my sinuses. Wow do they hurt! Thankfully some Sudafed helps but I'm tired and just want to go to sleep right now. Please know I intend on giving you a full report WITH pictures very soon! I do have to tell you that I got to meet some of the wonderful people that run SCS at the dinner on Friday night and got pictures with some of them so it will be fun to share that with you guys!

Have a great Sunday everyone and I'll be back soon! :o)

I'm leaving today!

I am off to Portland with my upline, Richelle, today for Stampin' Up!'s Regional tomorrow! Woohoo! I'm excited for a couple of reasons. One, I have been to one of these events before and they are just crazy fun. Crazy being lots of women in one place that LOVE stamping! Also, tonight, we are going to an SCS dinner! I will get to meet some of my favorite stamp artists at this dinner so it is soooo exciting!

I wanted to leave you with some artwork so I thought I'd show you the door prizes that I made for Richelle and I for the dinner tonight. The first little piece of cuteness is the JOY block. I had a couple of extra wood block laying on my desk and I thought it would be cute to make them into the word joy for a Christmas house decoration. At first I thought it would be three separate blocks with letters but the letters I chose aren't big enough so I put them all on one. First, I used a sponge and Real Red ink and died the block red. Then I put the DP from Dashing on the block and used my craft and hobby knife to cut the paper around the block. Next, I stamped the letters in Real Red craft ink and used Iridescent Ice EP to emboss them. Sparkly! After that I popped them up with Dimensionals. I added Very Vanilla 5/8" Grosgrain to the edges of the block and Real Red Grosgrain on top with a bow and voila! A little JOY package! I am absolutely thrilled with how this came out! I think it is sooo cute!

The other item I made was with a giant clothes pin. And I do mean giant! it is 6 1/2" tall! I used the Apple Cider DP and some of the fabulous Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon (get it while you can...it is FABULOUS!) and glued them to the clothes pin! Easy schmesy! It you set it on the opposite end that the picture shows then you can use it to hold a card, picture, or anything else your little heart desires! Pretty neato, huh?!

So, that is it! The two door prizes...I hope they are well liked and that we get something really fun in return!

I will not be posting tomorrow at all and probably late on Sunday if at all as I will need to get my photos in order and such before I post.

Have a super fantastic weekend!

She got it!!!!

Remember I told you about the Halloween swap that I joined? I sent my Halloweeny sister's box on Saturday morning and she just posted that she received it! Yay! You can see in the picture what I sent. She got a wheel and punch that she had been wanting, a 'boo' chipboard decoration, the little mini clipboard I showed you guys awhile ago and one that isn't decorated so she can make her own. Also, there are some ribbons and jumbo paper clips in the 2-5-7-10 box. Of course you can see the black cat beenie baby and finally some CHOCOLATE! How could I not send chocolate at Halloween?

Anyway, she seemed to like it so I'm pleased it all worked out. Now...should I join the Christmas Elf swap you think? Or...maybe I could host something like that on on this blog. What do you all think? That would be fun, huh?

Guess what? I have all my swaps done for Regionals! Woohoo! Now, I just have to come up with something for a door prize for the SCS dinner that we'll be going to on Friday. I have something started but honestly...I'm not sure if I have time to get it done. YIKES!!! What am I going to do?!

Oh, and I wanted to show you guys my birthday cake! I really like Strawberry Shortcake...such fun childhood memories! This is a totally chocolate cake. Chocolate cake, chocolate frosting, and chocolate ganache (okay, so that isn't how you spell it but you know what I mean, right?) on the top. Super rich but super YUMMY!!!

Thank you to everyone who sent me a note or left a comment on my birthday! You all made it a truly special day!

So, while I worry about getting the door prize done I hope that everyone out there in blogger land has a worry free day!!!

You know what...

You know something that I love about my DH? He knows that I don't really like surprises. Therefore, he knew that he needed to prepare me for my birthday and all that is coming with it. I knew a couple of weeks ago that I would be busy today from about 10 a.m. until ???? Well, now I know why! I'm going to my Salon & Spa for quite the treatment! I will get my hair done , a massage, and a pedicure! All my favorite stuff! Then I will come home and be a blob of jelly for a little while. My dinner you may ask? Well, it is my favorite pasta place in town! Woohoo! Then in the evening a couple of people will be coming over to share cake with us. I have been promised no balloons, candles, or that type of thing...just sharing of cake. Sounds good to me!!!

I'm currently working on my swap card for my Season of Joy swap. It is going REALLY well and you all will love it! Hopefully I'll end up with some time to work on it today.

Have a super fantastic day everyone!!! :o)

Tommorrow

Tomorrow, tomorrow, I love ya tomorrow... you're only a day away! Why do I love tomorrow? 'Cuz it is my birthday!!! Woohoo! Since I married Todd I my birthday's have been fantabulous! I just can't wait to see what he has planned for tomorrow!

Okay, on to some artwork for today. On one of the Yahoo groups that I belong to, SUAngels, I am the Stamping/Scrapbooking Tip person. Each Thursday I give a tip to the group that they may not already have known about. One of my tips is to use the same color of ink as cardstock to add some depth. You can see an example of this technique on this card that was sent to me as a Angel Tag from Darla. I have to say that I love Darla! She is so sweet and very encouraging! Isn't it cute? The set is Be Happy and she used my technique of tone on tone color on the grass. I never would have thought of this cute flower on my own and now I must try it! Thank you Darla for such a cute Tag!

I'm not sure when or if I'll be able to post tomorrow so please stay tuned!!! :o)

True Friend

I received this gorgeous card from a fellow SU! Angel, Kelly Swienton. I have linked her blog to her name and you simply MUST go check it out!!! One really exciting thing is that she has a Airborne Ranger son that will be returning from Iraq after 15 months deployed! Praise God!

Kelly used the fabulous stamp set called True Friend from the Holiday Mini. I wanted this set when I saw it but I have Fabulous Flowers so I thought I should wait for True Friend but sheesh...actually having a card made with this set in my house makes me want it even more! Maybe I'll see if anyone is ready to trade their set off. Oh, and look at that large eyelet! Isn't that just the coolest thing since sliced bread? I've been wanting some of those too and just have put it off on my orders in favor of other things. Some day, I'm tellin' ya! And beautiful fall colors including the gorgeous Apple Cider Designer paper...gotta love it!

Thanks for checking in everyone! Have a super fantastic Friday! I hope everyone is attending a World Card Making Day event tomorrow and if not...my house 1:00 p.m. BE HERE!!! :o)

Smile on your face!

Good Thursday morning everyone! I have a little something to show you this morning that I made for my Halloweeneee sister. It is a mini clipboard. It is 2"x3" and decorated with SU!'s Creepy Crawly DP and then I used the set Batty For You to decorate it with. I love the saying...You light up the place with that smile on your face. Who wouldn't like receiving something like this? Oh, the cool thing is that it is on a key chain. Not sure I'd use it as a key chain as the clip part is easily bent but it is still cute! I'll go post this on SCS, come back, and then you can click HERE to see what all I used to make it!

I'm heading to Yakima today and one place I'm going to stop is Craft Warehouse. I'm so excited! I'm looking for some little brass hinges for another project for my Halloweeneee sister! :o)

Anyway, have a great day and I'll catch ya'll tomorrow!

I got free rubber!

I forgot to tell you guys that I signed up for a free stamp set HERE and I won! Woohoo! Actually, my chances were pretty good because I think they gave away 1,000 sets! I'm really looking forward to using this set and I'll definitely show you what I do but right now...I HAVE to work on getting my swap finished for Regional's . Also, I have to do a couple of things to put into my Secret Halloweenee Sister's box. I signed up for this fun swap on SCS and I just need to finish it up because I need to get it out in the mail. I can't believe how fast time goes! It seems that yesterday I had 2 weeks to get my package out! LOL! I'll make sure you see what I send for that too!

Have a fantastic Wednesday!

Goin' to Regionals!

Hey, everyone! I've got lots of info for ya! First, my upline and I are going to the Stampin' Up! Regionals in Portland on Oct 12th and 13th. I'm so stinkin' excited! Here is a card I'm thinking of taking for the swaps that will be going at a frenzied pace!!! I've been told that it is not the best idea to use non-SU! products on the card (the scalloped punches) so I'll change that and I'll probably make the vertical strip a little thinner but this is it AND I love it! Whatcha all think?
