page plans week 33

Yep, it is that day again...Page Plans day! It sure did feel good to stamp this weekend. I'm not sure why I felt I needed a break but I'm glad I took a few days off.

Anyway, this sketch was another that was hard. Overall I like the card I came up with but the lower two squares were a little difficult to figure out what to do.

This card is made with the new Funky Christmas set from Gina K (yep...Courtney made me do it!). This little set has such cute images...you must check it out! Once again I've forgotten to keep the name of the manufacturer of the patterned paper (if you know please leave a comment). I've used Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip, and some of Gina K's new Pure Luxury White card stock. Want to know something neat about the paper? I messed up on coloring my first reindeer so I flipped the paper over, stamped the image again, colored it up and you can't see the other image! Wow, that is fantastic! Okay, back to the card. The ornament is from PTI, colored with COPIC markers...yeah...you get the point. The size of this card is 4 1/4" x 4 1/4".

I hope that you will all try out this sketch and let me see! Have a super day everyone and I hope you get everything done that you wish too!

belli challenge and mojo challenge in one!

Good morning stamping friends. I honestly had no plans of posting until Sunday but my friend, Chrissy threw down a challenge and who am I to back away? The best part is that it also works for the Belli Challenge this week which is called Belli's Gone By. Basically you get to choose which of the previous Belli Challenges you'd like to do and go for it! Kinda fun, huh? You can see all the previous challenges on Chrissy's blog HERE. And what is the other part about the mojo challenge? Well, Chrissy sent out an e-mail looking for her mojo and one of the other ladies of the yahoo group sent her Julee's Mojo Sketch and a challenge was born.

So for the Belli Challenge I'm going with #26 which is felt as are my snowflakes from SU! The patterned paper is from Love Elsie and the solid card stocks are PTI Dark Chocolate, PTI Vintage Cream, and Riding Hood Red. The stamps are from SNSS Winter Fun w/Same & Gretchen as well as a sentiment from PTI's 2008 Holiday Tag Collection. I'm not sure which Belli Team members are participating today so why don't you just take some time to puruse them all?

Have a super day everyone!

weekend to remember

Good Monday morning my friends! I hope that you all had a super weekend! You probably didn't know it but Todd and I were gone this weekend. We went to a Weekend to Remember. If you've never been to one and would like to take a weekend to spend time with your spouse, no matter what your relationship may be like, the Weekend to Remember is the way to do it! We came home with some wonderful information and ways to make our marriage even better. I will not fool myself and say that it will be easy to put into play some of the things I've learned but I know that, with God, I can do it! I have to tell you one of my favorite sayings from this weekend. (This is just one thing among MANY!) Instead of arguing, one of the speakers calls it "intense fellowship"...how funny is that?! That is totally what I'm calling it from now on as I really don't like the word argument! LOL!

Anyway, This is the card that I made at the very last moment before leaving for the conference. I really wanted Todd to know that I was looking forward to the weekend. I used Beate's sketch for this weekend. The sentiment is from House Mouse, the cupcakes from Unity Stamps, and the paper is from ???.

So, I bet you are thinking I'm a pretty good wife right now, huh? Yeah...I pale in comparison to my husband! After I gave him my card he told me that he didn't have time to make or buy me a card and I was certainly okay with that. Well, he was lying (in a good way!). On Saturday morning he left me a card with a package of heart stickers to find. Go ahead say it...awwww...I agree...what a sweetie! I thought that was pretty cool until Saturday night when we went to go to our Sweetheart Dinner and he had a box and card for me. In the box...a beautiful black and white diamond heart necklace! Oh, my goodness...it is so lovely! It looks similar to THIS. Go Todd, right? But that isn't it! I got another card and a wonderful bar of Ghiradelli dark chocolate with mint filling for the ride home...which I forgot to eat, darn it! Now how is that for a husband? Crafting supplies, jewelry, AND chocolate...seriously! And, NO! You cannot have him! And, Todd...if you are reading this...I love you so much...I'm so glad God gave me you!!!

One other thing about this weekend. We went to this weekend with some friends of ours, Nicole and Scott, and I want to say to them...thank you! I really enjoyed getting to know you guys better! You ROCK!

So, I'm all done with being all sentimental! Please know I will not be posting as much this week as I'll be busy with family, Thanksgiving, and other commitments.

See you soon everyone!

page plans week 32

Good Sunday morning everyone! It is another Page Plans sketch day! This was another tough one for me. I'm not sure what is it about circles and squares but they just kick my butt!! This sketch though...this one caught my eye with what I could do with it and I decided to make this fun scallop circle card.

This entire card is made with SU! materials. The card stock is Bashful Blue, designer paper is called Frosty Day, a snowflake from Felt Flurries (I colored it with some Bashful Blue ink as the white just didn't match well), a Build a Brad with more DP from Frosty Day, the snowflakes in the background are from Snow Burst, and the sentiment is from the set Festive Favorites. I used my Nestabilities to cut the scallop circle and the Whisper White circle inside. Phew! That is a lot of stuff!

I also decided that I should have a different opening than usual so...I made the circle open instead of card itself.

I bet all my stamping friends could make amazing cards with this sketch so GET TO IT! LOL! Really, if you'd like to try it I'd love to see so make sure you link me up!

Have a super Sunday everyone!

star tin and cards

Ahhh...you gotta love Saturday's don't ya? This is a little gift set that I made about a week ago that I am just now getting a chance to show you. First, please imagine the ribbon on the outside of the tin being straight. I can't believe I didn't notice that before!

So...what did I use to make this tin? Well...lets see...the beautiful Baja Breeze snowflake paper is from the Level 3 Holiday Happenings Bundle, the ribbon is Riding Hood Red Taffeta, the stars from the Holiday Mini's star ornament set, and the tin is from SU! (and they are available in packs of 3 right now) and the silver cording is that elastic silver cord that I told you about earlier in the week. The belly band slides right off and...

When you open up the tin inside you will find two of each of the cards that you see below. The cards are note card sized and are stamped with PTI's Snowflake Serenade set. I added a little bit of bling in the center of the snowflakes and I must say...they are lovely.

Now, I am aware that the outside and the inside of this set doesn't really match that well (the stars are what I'm referring to) but I do love this set. The stars can be removed so they are able to be used within the recipients house or on their tree.

I hope that your gift making is coming along well and that maybe you got an idea or two for something you'd like to make.

Have a super Saturday everyone! Get lots and lots of stamping done!

CPS sketch #91

It's Friday...It's Friday...woohoo! Believe it or not...this week has gone SO slow for me. I shouldn't complain I know but I'm so glad it is Friday!

Today I want to show you the super cute card that I made with this week's CPS sketch. I love this card...hate the photo. I just can't figure out how to take a good picture of a lighter colored card. I should probably wait 'til daytime but I just don't work that way unfortunately.

Anyway, I had much fun with this card. The base layer is Shimmery White, then Night of Navy, and finally some Frosty Day designer series paper. The snowman is a new release from Verve stamps called Snow Wonder and is SO cute! I stamped the snowman on shimmery white and colored him minimally with my COPIC markers. I used a strip of Tangerine Tango card stock and stamped it with some snowflakes from Snow Burst. Also, I added a couple of sparkly Christmas tree brads to the side. This is a large card at 4" x 9 1/4". It is a great size and card but how do I...or do I send it?

Anyway, I hope you have a great Friday and if you have any thoughts on better photos for light colored cards I'd love to hear it!

Tomorrow I'm finally going to show you what I'm calling my Star Tin. I hope you'll come back and see it!

sarah's bella sketch challenge

Good morning friends! It sure has been a busy week here at our house with no real time to get any of my fun stamping in...darn it! This card today I made a few days ago from my friend Sarah's Bellaholic Anonymous Sketch Challenge for November.

For this card I used some patterned paper that I got at a local scrapbook store. I cannot remember who the manufacturer is but the stripes are on one side and the polka dots on the other. Very cute paper with a great combination of burgundy, blush, brown, and white. Anyway, I stamped Lattebella on my favorite PTI white and colored her with my COPIC markers. This card opens on the right where the dots end so I created a simple belly band with some chocolate chip card stock and a "cheers" stamp. I attached Lattebella to the belly band so all you have to do is take the belly band off to access the inside of the card.

God has been talking with me about sharing a scripture with a woman that I don't really know but is having a hard time right now so I decided to use this card to write to her. I hope that she likes it and that my words make sense to her.

I hope that you will all try out Sarah's sketch...it is a fun one! I'm working on another card with a sketch from CPS and hope to finish that today. I'll also do some shopping for Thanksgiving dinner. How are your preparations coming? Even though it is usually just my very immediate family for Thanksgiving I still love it! It is such a warm, yummy time!

I'm off to get all my stuff done! I hope that you take the time to really enjoy your day!

belli challenge #43

Good morning stampers! As you all know today is Belli Challenge day and today we are working with cord. Although I must say that my post looks more like I was working on last week's challenge again (which was tags).

I found this big tag on my mess that I call my desk and thought I could make something with that so away I went. I covered the tag in some Basic Grey Wassail paper (that I just got yesterday and it is gorgeous!) and then I thought maybe it was just to bright and I kind of wanted a vintage look so I used my antique linen distress ink and just rubbed it all over the tag...front and back. I stamped my sentiment (PTI again) and realized that would be way to bright too so I distressed that with the same ink. I wanted to used a felt flurry snowflake (winter mini) on my tag so I used a Wassail glazed brad in the middle and tied some silver cord around the prongs in the back to secure the cord to the snowflake. The snowflake is removable so it can be hung on a tree or somewhere around the recipients house. Then I decided to use some of SU! rope twine (winter mini) on the end so I cut three length and then pulled apart the ends to make it look frayed.

Soooo...what can you do with the cord you have laying around your house? Whip something up, upload to to your favorite place with CBC43 as your keyword and then link back to Chris's blog (below) for a chance to win a fun prize! Here are the Belli players this week...

Chris
Jennifer
Rochelle
Shelly
Joan
Courtney
Holly
Christi

So, I'll be over to Chris's blog this next week checking to see if you've participated so I hope that you do!

Can a brag on my family for a moment please? If you don't want to hear it...just stop reading now and I'll see ya tomorrow...k? First, last week was report card week in our house. I remember as a kid that it wasn't a fun time for me...I struggled a lot. Thankfully my boys don't struggle. Jon has a B+ average...yep, a B+!!! Isn't that just wonderful? And Kyler...he is doing super too! He has an A in Bible and a B in Latin among other wonderful grades. To me...that A is of utmost importance. We send him to a Christian school so that he can grow in and learn a Christian world view. He is a wonderful boy of God and we want him to be a wonderful man of God as well! Speaking of wonderful man of God...Todd is the Chapel speaker at Kyler's school today. I'm so proud of him! I know he will do a great job and I can't wait to see Kyler introduce him! I would love to brag on Scott's report card too but he doesn't have one yet. I can tell you that he did a great job on a "project" in his Political Science class yesterday. He got all the extra credit points that he possibly could so go Scott!

Okay...enough...this is long...sorry about that! Have a super Wednesday and I'll see you tomorrow!

And finally you get to find out who the winner for the blogaversary loot is. Ready? Okay...here you go...

thanksgiving page plans card

It is a quiet Sunday morning in my house. That is probably because the boys aren't up yet...lol! It is Page Plans day and boy this one was a doozy! I sat, and sat, and sat trying to figure out what to do with the dead space on the left of my card (right in the sketch). This is what I came up with...what do you think?

I used two sets, Turkey Day and Happy Harvest, from Sweet N Sassy Stamps. You guys know I had to use my favorite turkey. The patterned paper is from the Debby Mumm pad that I got for my birthday and the ribbon that says "family" is from the Target Dollar Spot. For the Happy Thanksgiving ribbon I just used a piece of cardstock, cut the ends and then slightly bowed it to make it look wavy. It is a neat technique that I've seen before and I think looks pretty good in this application. This card, along with the others that I've made with my SNSS, will be going to one of our sets of parents. I'm so thrilled to actually have cards for them this year!

I hope you are inspired by the Page Plans sketch you see here. You can go to the Page Plans blog to see what the other designers have made for today.

In the meantime...have a super Sunday and be sure to sign up for my blogaversary loot below!

it's a blogaversary

Morning everyone! Whose blogaversary is it? It is MY blogaversary. Two years ago (on the 12th I actually started my blog but on the 14th I started posting cards) today I started my blog! I can hardly believe two years have gone by!

First and foremost...thank you to all my wonderful friends that have supported me over the last couple of years. You guys make it all so much fun for me. I was just looking and did you know that Dawn Griffith was my very first commenter. How very cool is that...I love Dawn and she is uber talented so you should go visit her blog HERE!

Now...what you guys are all wondering...what am I going to do for my blogaversary? Well, as thank you (besides my undying thanks) I'm going to give away the package shown to the right. Yep, you will get a SU! Create a Calendar kit, TWO COPIC (R11 and R22) markers, and the three projects we made at stamp club Wednesday night.

What do you need to do to win? Leave a comment...tell me what you like about my blog and if there is something you'd wish I do or wish I'd do differently let me know that too! There is no obligation to tell anyone else but if you want your friends to get a try at the loot too then go ahead and put it on your blog or call 'em up! You have until Sunday night at 8:00 p.m. (Pacific Time) to leave your comment! I'll let you know the winner on Monday morning!

Again, thank you everyone! Please be sure to leave me some way to contact you if you win!

november birthday card swap

Good morning ladies! How has your week been so far? By a show of comments...who has started (or even finished) their Christmas cards/projects? Yeah...at stamp club last night one of the lovely ladies has hers almost done...no fair! Guess I need to get to work!

I just wanted to show you the super simple card that I made for the birthday card swap we had at stamp club last night. To make the card a little more special I used Shimmery White cardstock for the white base. A Regal Rose cardstock base and ribbon complete the card. The stamp set is a Level 1 hostess set called Live Like You Mean It. Sometimes people have such a hang up with the number of their birthday that they forget to just live like it doesn't matter. Anyway, I hope to be able to show you the other swap cards over the next couple of days...I just need to take the time to photograph them today.

I have been working on a pretty neat Christmas present the last couple of days that I'm almost ready to show you so stay tuned!

So take the day and turn it into something wonderful!

belli challenge 42

Good morning stamping friends! I hope you all had a super Tuesday! I had Bible study last night and it was wonderful!

Today is Belli Challenge #42 and is all about Tags! You know what I love about Belli Challenges...Chrissy lets us take the challenge in whichever way we'd like and I'll tell ya what...it works so well. Each of us Belli Girls do something different...FUN!!!

Anyway, here is my tag for today. I found directions for this super cute Santa on the Stampin' Up! demonstrator website (and I would give directions but I am working up a class for these and some other fun things so no directions right now but I bet you can figure it out!) and knew I had to use it to make this fun gift bag or gift tag. I apologize for the horrible picture but...don't you just LOVE him...seriously...and we don't even "do" Santa at our house. Anyway, the Wild Wasabi card is 3" x 3" and the Santa is popped up with dimensionals. I used a little bit of silver cord from a couple of years ago but this years elastic cord is FABULOUS (you will see it later this week I hope). This just make me smile!

Want to see the what the other Belli Challenge girls have for you? Here are the links...

created by courtney challenge #14

Today is Veteran's Day. Whether young or old ALL of our Veteran's deserve our thanks so please take time to thank a Veteran today!

Happy stampin' Tuesday! We have another fun challenge from Courtney today...can you guess from my project what it is? Nope, not ornaments but chipboard. What is chipboard on this ornament? The small scalloped square. Isn't this fun? I would love to say that I came up with this idea myself but that would be lying. The fabulous Beate John's had THIS ornament on her blog not to long ago so I just changed it up a little. Thank you so much Beate! Actually, I hope that my stamp club members like this as they will be doing a version of this at club on Wednesday!

You can see all the size measurements on Beate's blog. I used some Frosty Day designer paper from SU! along with the SU! set Mr. Twigster and a Felt Flurry snowflake to make this ornament. This is SO easy to make that I have plans to make and send or give them to a large number of my friends and family. I'll change them up so they aren't the same paper and such but these will make great little gifts!

If you'd like to join in on this chipboard challenge just make something with chipboard, upload it to SCS (with CBCC13 keyword) or your blog and then link it to Courtney's blog HERE for a chance to win a little giftie from her! Also, make sure you check out the other challenge chicks (links in my sidebar) to see what fabulous things they've come up with! Note there are two new chicks to our challenges!

I just finished up my Belli Challenge for tomorrow and am excited about that one too so make sure you stop back! Have a super day!
