page plans

Good morning stampers! Have you had a wonderful weekend? We are home today from a couple of days away. It is always good to be home!

As you know Sunday is Page Plans day on my blog. Today is no exception and I have a fun card to show you!

I have combined a couple of things into today. First is, of course, the Page Plans sketch (I had to do a little rearranging on my layout)...also, Kerry's challenge for this week is to make a birthday card with purple and glitter. How do I resist that? I didn't! I pulled out my Enchanted Lily set that I got from limeLIGHT Papercrafts, colored her up and added Shimmerz (there are a ton of colors of Shimmerz at LLPC) in Angel Wings to her bottom wings and the polka dots on her top wings. I also love the Citrus Droplets that I added at the end of my ribbon. They are so fun!

So, there is something I need to let you know about Page Plans. Lesli and Chris have decided to not continue with their Page Plans weekly sketches. With that this will be my last sketch with them. I'm sad about this but I do understand that life sometimes makes it so we can't do all that we'd like. Best of luck to you in the future Lesli and Chris!

Now...have a super Sunday!

Cardstock: Bashful Blue, Whisper White, Certainly Celery, DCWV

It's Friday!

Happy Friday everyone! Phew...I didn't think we'd ever get here this week!

Just a quick post today to show you the card I made for my stamp club card swap. We decided on a "thinking of you" theme. I had absolutely NO idea what to do but I knew I wanted to use my Dream a Little set from SU! so I went to SCS and checked out what others have done. I would like to say that I combined a whole bunch of stuff...but I didn't. This is pretty much a CASE but I don't recall who it belonged to. I just know that I thought it was pretty and calming. The other thing that I found out when I went to stamp a "thinking of you" sentiment is that I didn't have any current SU! sentiments. Hmmm...how did that happen? I decided to use my PTI Everyday Classics set (the anniversary set for this year...that I earned... 'cuz I love PTI) as this sentiment is so classic and really...says what you want.

Below will be the details of this card and I must run now. Hope you have a super weekend! I won't "see" you tomorrow but I'll be back on Sunday!

Card deets:
Cardstock: PTI White
Stamps: Dream a Little, Everyday Classics
Ink: Kiwi Kiss, Not Quite Navy, Regal Rose

elegant blessings

Morning everyone! Did you know it is almost Friday? Woohoo! Do you have any big plans for the weekend? We've got some fun stuff planned...yay!

Each Monday the senior design team of Sweet N Sassy Stamps has a senior design team challenge. This week it was to use pink and brown or pink and orange. I just used some pink and orange just the other day so pink and brown it is!

This lovely card is made with the SNSS set called Elegant Blessings. It is a lovely set that includes two crosses (this is the smaller of the two) and several sentiments that are good for encouragement, sympathy, or even thinking of you. First I inked up the cross in Pink Pirouette and then I rocked the edges in Close to Cocoa. I used some adhesive pearls to a little dimension and class and the white satin ribbon just finishes it off perfectly.

So, which color combination will you use? Just upload your card to your favorite online community (or blog) with the keyword of SNSMC17 and then link it back to the SNSS blog!

Now...I'm off to work on two more cards for this weekend! Have a super day everyone!

Card deets:
Card stock: Close to Cocoa, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White, Candy Cane Lane DP
Stamps: Elegant Blessings
Embellishments: White Satin Ribbon (PTI), Adhesive Pearls, Dimensionals

just buzzin by box

Good morning everyone! Just a quick post to show you the last stamp club project that my girls will be making tonight.

I saw on Beate's blog a super cute genie bag made with the top note die. I totally wanted to do something like that but...no white bags. Bummer! So, I turned it into a little box and used some ribbon for a little carrying handle. This box fits four Ghiradelli Chocolates inside just perfectly. Yum!

My brain does not work mathematically...at all, so when the time came to make the little box I couldn't figure out what size of paper I needed to make the box fit the way I wanted. I believe I ended up with a 8"x8" piece of Certainly Celery. I believe I scored all sides at 2 1/2" and then just cut up to the center on four scores facing each other (I hope that makes sense). You can see from the side picture what the box part looks like.

Besides from Ghiradelli chocolate this box is big enough to fit a little gift (mini-book, piece of jewelry) inside as well. With the "have a honey of a day sentiment" it could also be used for several different occasions.

So...who's coming to stamp club tonight? LOL! Even if you aren't I hope that your day is wonderful!

Card deets:
Stamps: Just Buzzin' By
Card Stock: Certainly Celery, So Saffron, Delicate Dots DSP (from SAB), Whisper White
Accessories: Top Note Die, Silver Brads, Certainly Celery Twill (SAB), Certainly Celery Grosgrain, So Saffron Grosgrain, Circle punches, Markers, Spica Glitter Pens (on bee), and large oval punch.

sweet stems

Good morning everyone! Did you all get through your Monday okay? My day actually went better than I anticipated and I got a card made...yay!

This card is for my stamp club tomorrow night (so if you are coming...you know one thing you'll be making). One of the nice things about being a SU! demo is that the demo website has tons of ideas for cards, scrapbook pages and the like. It makes planning for an event pretty darn easy!

This card is made with the Sweet Stems set and Thank You single stamp. Add a little Raspberry Tart patterned paper along with Pretty in Pink, Rose Red, and Kiwi Kiss card stock and you have a pretty thank you card. I popped the flowers up with some dimensionals to give the card a little extra dimension and the paper piercing in the corners make it elegant. Easy schmesy!

Awhile back my friend, Sarah, sent me a fun daily calendar that has a Psalm each day along with a little comment. I've been wanting to share one with you guys for a little while so here goes...

God is for me. Psalm 56:9
Such breathtaking information in such a short sentence.

Isn't that something that we all need to remember when times get tough (and they are tough for some right now). God IS for me...good times, bad times, and all the time inbetween! Yay!

Anyway, I hope you all have a super Tuesday! I'll show you my final project for stamp club tomorrow.

pretty flower pots

Good Monday morning everyone! I hope that you had a wonderful weekend and that you got lots done! Today's post will be photo heavy and probably text light but I hope you enjoy it anyway!

My friend, Janel, dropped off this super cute flower pot card to me for Valentine's Day last month. How cute and ingenious, right?! I knew I was going to have to make one myself so I put the card to the side only to pull it out a few days ago to start working on my own. All I did to make this card is to make a regular size card (5 1/2" x 4 1/4"), I then laid Janel's card on it and used my pencil for the cut marks. I just took it to my cutter lined up the pencil marks and cut it. So, no I do not have a template. Just play with it a little and I'm sure you'll come up with the angle that is perfect for you!

Anyway, this is the card I was working on for the flock/fuzz challenge with limeLIGHT when I realized that I needed to use the sketch that Mandy provided (again, duh for me!). I used Chocolate Box Cherry Cordial Core'dinations cardstock from limeLIGHT. The flocking is at the top of the pot for the dirt. Another fun element of this card that I got from limeLIGHT is the beautiful butterfly from Prima. My goodness it is lovely. It really would make anything that you use it on special. I made my little "happy spring" sign on my computer (and yes...I had to use the same seed packet that I got from Janel in my flower pot as I forgot to buy one when I went to the store). The patterned cardstock is from SU!. The stamps are from a new PTI set called Wishing You.

Now, how fun would this be to send? Obviously you can't used a regular envelope but I'll be sending this one to my grandparents in a bubble mailer hoping the USPS doesn't ruin it. I know they will love it though!

I have another busy week this week so I will probably be sporadic with my posting. I hope you have a wonderful Monday! See you soon!

page plans day

Good morning everyone! I hope you've had a wonderful weekend so far! I'd like to thank you all for your kind words and funny stories regarding Scott's wisdom teeth removal. He is doing quite well but he's still tired. Tomorrow is the third day and it is supposed to be the worst day so we'll see what happens.

As you know, today is Page Plans sketch day on my blog. I had fun with this card/sketch. My card is 5"x5" and is perfect for this fun Emma stamp from Paper Makeup Stamps. Isn't she just adorable? To make it a little more special I used Shimmerz (from limeLIGHT) on her wings and gloves as well as a glaze pen on the raindrops. For the center of my buttons I put some Silver Rhinestones (again from limeLIGHT). The cardstock and patterned paper, buttons and ribbon are from PTI. Oh and the little twinkle on the pockets are from Taylored Expressions as well as the sentiment. Boy that is quite the assembly of things isn't it?

So...whatcha waiting for? Head on over to the Page Plans blog to take a gander at this weeks sketch and then make your own card! Oh, and have a super day while you are at it!

Jeremiah 29:11

Good morning everyone! This will be a quick post as we are working on getting out of the house this morning. I'll be taking my oldest son to the oral surgeon today to have his wisdom teeth removed. I know all will be fine but I'm nervous about it. Todd still loves to tease me about when I had mine out (about 5 years ago) and how the drugs just made me sleep the entire time. We drove 45 minutes home and I still had no recollection of it...gotta love those drugs sometimes, huh?

Anyway, I made this card with Verve Stamps two stamp set called (appropriately) Jeremiah 29:11. I used a sketch from Taylored Expressions for this card. I also used some Porcelain patterned paper from limeLIGHT and the green cardstock and ribbon is from PTI.

Well, I hope that you have a fantastic day! I don't have anything prepared for you for tomorrow but I figure Scott will sleep most of the afternoon anyway so I should get some stamping time in. See you soon!

6 chicks sketch and product challenge day

Good morning everyone! It is a bright day here on my blog but I hope you'll enjoy it!

Today is limeLIGHT Papercrafts sketch and product focus day. I love the 5th and 19th of the month. Mandy always has such great sketches and the products we use are always so much fun!

Anyway, this week's product focus is anything with fuzz or flock. Just think of those cute little chickies and the fuzzy blankets that we all love this time of year...now...translate that into a card and you're all set!

This card is made with a super cute flower duo from Unity Stamps...and who has a wonderful selection of Unity Stamps? Yep, limeLIGHT! Go HERE to check them out! For my flock I used some fun Pixie Pink Fun Flock. For some added fuzz I used some felt ribbon (limeLIGHT doesn't have this exact ribbon but they have a wonderful selection of ribbon that you should check out!). Such a fun contrast of colors, textures and shapes in my card, this sketch, and the selection of fuzz and flock!

So, tell me...what else do you have to do today that you couldn't just sit down right now and make a card with fuzz or flock? What? The kids need fed and you have to go to work? Alright...do those things first and then go to your stamp room to make a card for fun challenge! You know that Mandy loves to give prizes away for the sketch and product challenge so what can you win this time? How about a jar of Purple Pleaser Fun Flock and Pineapple Sparkle Fun Fibers. After you create your card go ahead, upload it to your favorite online forum or your blog then go to Mandy's blog and leave a link for a chance to win! Make sure to use the tag of LLPC017 for your card or layout!

And, don't forget that if you place an order of any size at limeLIGHT from now until Easter Sunday you will received a plastic egg filled with goodies! It could be Primas (that is what I got!), brads, ribbon, stickers or maybe even a larger gift (written on a piece of paper)! Fun stuff, huh?

Alright, I'll stop babbling at ya! I hope that you have a super Thursday and get lots done today!

sweet dreams

Good morning everyone! I hope your week is going well!

I thought today I'd show you a fun card made with the Sweet Dreams set from Sweet N Sassy Stamps. This is Olivia...isn't she cute? I really like this set because of the fun and different sentiments that you can use with it. I chose the sentiment on this card as I know so many people who tell me that they have had a tough week. So, I thought maybe I should have a card to send. The paper is from Crate Paper's Lemon Grass kit. I love the earthy feel of the paper. One other things about this card is that I used the sketch from Techno Stamper's Monday Lunchtime sketch challenge. A fun sketch this week for sure!

So...what projects are you working on this week? I had a super cute card in mind for Thursday's limeLIGHT product challenge...until I remembered I'm supposed to use the sketch too...DUH for me! So...tomorrow it is a limeLIGHT day all the way for me!

I hope that you have a super day today and I'll see you tomorrow!

Matthew 11:28

Good morning everyone! I hope you had a fantastic weekend and got lots done! My Saturday night was fun. We all enjoyed playing Apples to Apples! If you haven't played you must try it!

Anyway, onto the card. I saw the CPS sketch for this week and knew I had to try it. Not only did I have to try it but I knew that one of Verve's stamps would be perfect. I decided to use Basic Grey patterned paper called Lilykate. It is so lovely and soothing. I thought about putting some rhinestones or something in the upper left corner but the simplicity of the card brings out the sentiment so I let it be.

This week brings another limeLIGHT Papercrafts sketch and product spotlight on Thursday. This time the design team members will be using fuzzy or fluffy. Hmm...that could be a lot of different things that is for sure! I hope you will join me for that! (Don't forget about the Easter Egg promotion over at LLPC...go to the store to check it out!) Also, this week is another fun Sweet N Sassy Stamps card and more Stampin' Up! Hope to see you back here soon!

I hope you get some time to be crafty today! Have a super Monday!

page plans

And here is post two for the day. Go ahead and scroll down for my Sweet N Sassy Stamps Round Up card!

As you know Sunday's are Page Plans day on my blog...at least for a couple of more weeks as my time on the design team will end at the end of the month. I have to say it has been nice knowing what I'm going to do for each Sunday!

For today's card I tried to use all SU! It is getting harder and harder to do that as I accumulate more and more goodies from other companies. For this card, though, I used SU!'s Raspberry Tart DSP and the SAB set Yummy. The Kiwi Kiss ribbon is, of course, from SU! as well. The buttons are from PTI. I used Kiwi Kiss cardstock and embossed it with the Birds and Swirls Cuttlebug embossing folder and then punched out my corner with my SU! photo corner punch. I thought maybe this would be a nice card to include with a gift for a friend and I do love that Raspberry Tart paper!

So...go ahead and head on over to the Page Plans blog to see the other DT members cards and the sketch, then...go stamp!

Have a super Sunday everyone!

round 'em up

Good morning friends! It is Sunday and I have two posts for you so make sure you look up top for my Page plans card today too!

How many times have you wanted to send a friend a card to let them know you are thinking of them? Well, how about inviting them for coffee too? This card is a great example of a fun way to invite your friend. Since the 15th of each month is Sweet N Sassy Stamps round up I thought that is what I would make. The coffee cups and sentiments on the main panel are from Warm Up set and the "thinking of you" sentiment is from the Bee Happy set. I used a Mojo Monday sketch and some fun Porcelain Basic Grey patterned paper. Going with the dot theme on the coffee cups I added white dots to each of the layers which followed the piercing on the bottom really well. A couple of pearls on the coffee cups really gave this card some fun dimension too. And what is funny about this card is that I can't send it to anyone until after Easter as I gave up caffeine and soda for lent. Yeah...the first five days were really rough!

Want to see what the other SNSS design team members made? Just head over to my side bar to click on each of their blogs. Have fun!

Got PMS?

Nope, not that kind of PMS! Paper Makeup Stamps! I had just told myself...self, no more stamps you have plenty! Then I look at Paper Makeup Stamps and I just had to try one or two sooooo....Elle and Emma came to live with me!

Isn't she the cutest? I love this Easter Elle! I used some very sweet Easter paper by Pebbles that I got at limeLIGHT Papercrafts. I used some Pixie Dust Blingz on her wings (appropriate, right?). Some Primas with a Pearl for the center finishes off this card nicely. Elle is colored with Copic Markers. I have found that I enjoy coloring these types of images much more than bigger images...probably because I don't get the streaking I get with with bigger images. I think I need to do some research into how to color larger areas. Anyway, this was another of those cards that I really enjoyed making.

Alright...I'm off and running for the day. I hope you have a wonderful Saturday and I'll see ya tomorrow!

wild and crazy

Good Friday everyone! I hope your week has gone well! I'm so pleased it is Friday...why you make ask? I get to sleep in a little tomorrow...yay!

I just got this super cute set from limeLIGHT Papercrafts called Wild & Crazy Bunch (Unity Stamp Co.). I thought it was so cute and just knew I had to find a way to use these larger images on a card and I think I did it! I modified an older Sketch For You To Try from iheart2stamp.com. I had to pull out my Marrakech paper from Basic Grey to make this card, too. The base cardstock is Core'dinations Chocolate Box in Blueberry. I colored both of my images with Copic markers. For some reason I've been getting a lot of yucky overlapping in my coloring so please excuse that. I didn't think that with the crazy paper and large sentiment that I needed much for additional decoration so I went with clean and simple AND I like the results!

You can see on the inside of the card I just stamped the alligator from the set on white cardstock...perfect to carry over the clean look of the outside of the card.

This is another one of those cards that I felt myself smiling as I made it.
It is so much fun to make those kinds of cards isn't it?

Alright...I'm going now. I hope you have a fantastic weekend and hopefully I'll see you tomorrow but if now...I'll see you Sunday for my Page Plans sketch card AND the Sweet N Sassy Stamps Round Up card. Lots to look forward to. See you then!

with sympathy

Good morning stampers! It has been a busy week for me this week. How about you? Tonight we have about three different things going on simultaneously so we'll be running from one place to the next.

When I was doing my calling to see who would be attending scholarship brunch on Tuesday (it was at my house) I found out that one of the members of my group had just lost her mom. I thought it would be nice for the group to send her a card that we had all signed. So...I promptly put it off until Tuesday morning when I knew all my baking/cooking was under control. Typical me.... Anyway, because of that I didn't have the time to create like I normally do so I quickly found a card to CASE and...here it is. This card was originally made by Michelle Wooderson and I found the picture of it on the PTI website's gallery.

This card is made with all PTI products. The colors are Aqua Mist and Spring Moss. I used the stamp set With Sympathy.

I hope that this CASEd card gives you some inspiration in your stamping today! The kiddos are up so I must run!

Have a super day!

under the stars

Morning stamping friends! How did your Monday go? Did you get lots done? I got lots of personal things done but no stamping. Thankfully, I already had this card made so I can show it to you...yay!

I thought that being we are coming up on summer (hopefully sooner rather than later...even though it snowed here again today) that maybe using this set would be fun. I've had this set since the last catalog came out and this is my first time to use it. I'm not sure what took me so long! I think this bear is so cute! I chose some paper from the Old Olive DSP pack and a really simple layout to make this card. To make it a little special I added some fun flock on the bears tummy and muzzle...Jon liked that the most. The sentiment would be wonderful for birthdays, great job, or many other occasions.

I've got several things on my plate today. How about you? I still hope to get some stamping in today though.

Sorry this is so short but I must get my day started! Have a super day everyone!

his eye is on the sparrow

Good Monday morning everyone! I hope you had a super weekend and that you got just tons accomplished! I had to do the Children's Message (only about 5 minutes) at church yesterday and it was so nerve wracking (and my job is the Director of Children's Ministry...I just don't like to be in front of a full congregation!) that I needed to take a nap yesterday afternoon. The fact that it was daylight saving time might have had something to do with it too though.

This weeks sketch on PCP for Sweet N Sassy Stamps looked like one I could work with so I decided to try it. I got out my His Eye Is On The Sparrow set and some lovely quilted looking paper and came up with this. It is certainly simple...hopefully it looks clean and fresh. The cardstock and ribbon is from PTI and is the of the Berry Sorbet flavor (yum!). I had fun coloring the birds and flowers with my Copic Markers.

I have also liked the new trend of decorating the inside of cards so I decided to try it this time. I used another piece of the patterned paper and Berry Sorbet cardstock and added the sentiment. I still left some room to write a personal note as well. I really like the looks of this. I can't wait until I need to send someone a card!

If you decide to try this sketch I'd love to see your card so please come back and link me to it so I can see.

I'll probably have some Stampin' Up! cards over the next week or so as I would like to be ready for stamp club a little early this month....that and the swap card. Maybe I could even follow the rules this time! Tee hee! Anyway, I hope you have a super Monday! See you soon!
