limeLIGHT sketch and product focus

Morning everyone! I hope that you all have a super day planned! Thursday is probably one of my favorite days of the week.

Today is limeLIGHT sketch and product focus day. I say this every time but I LOVE these days. I always have fun with the products and Mandy sets everyone up for success with the sketches as they are PERFECT for the products.

Anyway, today's product focus is....PEARLS!! Y'all know that I love those Kaisercraft Pearls that Mandy carries so this we easy for me! See the little row of pearls on the bottom? And how about the Pearls on Lily's hat and dress? Such great accents, huh? Remember that fun turtle paper from yesterday? Yep, I used that with this SUPER cute Lily on the Beach image. My Lord...this is adorable!

So? Wanna get in on the Pearl action? Just design a card with the sketch you see here, add some pearl (could be pearls like mine or anything that is pearly), upload it to your favorite place (blog or gallery) with the tag LLSC20 and then link it back to Mandy's blog HERE for a chance to win THREE packages of Kaisercraft Pearls...I'm jumpin' up and down for ya! Don't forget to check out the rest of the DT's cards for this challenge...you can link to them from my side bar.

Now...go forth and create! Ooo...and go HERE to check out some great blog candy!

have to share...

Hey, guys...just want to share something with you. If you don't want to know anything personal then go ahead and move on to the next blog.

Today I was just heading into my kitchen when I saw someone walk up to the door. I thought it was Todd coming home for a quick break but it was our friend Al. Al and his wife Nancy are "adopted" grandparents for our kids here in WA. You see...Todd and I both know how important that grandparent relationship is and since their biological grandparents are so far away (1700 miles) we "adopted" grandparents for them here. Anyway, it was Al at my door with the absolutely lovely yellow/orange roses for ME!!! It is Rotary rose day here and he bought me these roses (he is in Rotary, too...double duty) and wrote the nicest card thanking me for doing a good job with my kids and the kids of our church. It brought tears to my eyes. Very sweet...very much needed.

Now...do you see the lovely lilies on the left. Those are from my sweet husband. Stargazer Lily's are my second favorite flower and although they are hard to find right now he brought me home these LOVELY day lilies. Do you not love them all blooming and wonderful?!

I am just too blessed. Thank you to both of these wonderful men...I am privileged to have you in my life!

Thanks for putting up with this break in craftiness...I'll be back tomorrow for my limeLIGHT sketch challenge and product challenge card AND you are going to LOVE it!

blog hop day

Good morning everyone! I hope that you are enjoying the Sweet N Sassy Stamps Summer Fun Blog Hop! How much are you loving the summer theme...ahhh...I can't wait!

I thought it would be cute to make a little beach scene with a stamp from the set Summer Fun. The sentiment is from the complimentary set called Summer Sentiments. To make this a really fun, bright card I used the brand new Basic Grey paper pad called Lime Rickey. What a FUN set of papers! And, the sketch? This week's Monday Mojo Sketch Challenge. Did you notice that I used birds instead of brads/eyelets for my side embellishments. Do those birds on the top patterned paper not just make you smile. So cute!

So, now you need to go ahead and hop on around the to other design team members blogs to see what they have in store for you. Next is Sandy. You can check out who else is featured today by checking out my sidebar for the complete schedule. Now, go...have a great time and be sure to come back tomorrow for my limeLIGHT sketch card tomorrow!

Stamps: Summer Fun, Summer Sentiments
Ink: Palette Burnt Umber, Tangerine Tango
Paper: PTI White, Basic Grey Lime Rickey

okay...fine

Morning everyone! Why is it when I post that I'm not going to be back for a couple of day that I end up finding time to finish something I was working on? Too, weird!

Anyway, I have had this wonderful Dawdling Turtle stamp (and sentiment) from Paper Makeup for sometime and I just love him. His eyes are SO expressive and the sentiment...it is important for all of use to remember. So, when I found this super cute turtle paper I knew I had to use my sweet Dawdling Turtle. And, if you know me...I had to fit a couple of challenges into the card too. This works for both the PMS sketch (that I had to flip) and Kerry's challenge for this week. Go ahead and click on the links to find out what they are all about.

Alright...I'm back to working hard! Have a super Tuesday everyone!

Card deets:
Stamps: Dawdling Turtle
Paper: PTI White, PTI Brown, Three Bugs in a Rug Snips & Snail

summer fun

Good Saturday morning! It is a beautiful sunshiny day here. The temperature is only going up to 58 and it is pretty windy with 30-40 mph winds with gusts up to 50 mph. but I love the sun!

Today is the first Saturday that SNSS will be hosting a sketch challenge on their new blog called The Sweet Shop. I think today's sketch is a pretty neat one and lends itself to lots of different images. For mine I used Summer Sentiments and Summer Fun.

I hope you'll join us each Saturday for a great sketch challenge and fantastic inspiration from the DT!

Now...I'm guessing you'd like to know the winners of the Silver Rhinestones, huh? The first person that was chosen by random.kyler is Kathy Brown. Kathy you get the Rhinestones and the option if you'd like the wedding card that I made. The other winner is Cristina. Yay for you both! I have a way to contact you both so I'll be e-mailing you shortly! Thank you all for participating in my fun little giveaway! I hope to do a few more of these in the future 'cuz who doesn't like to win free stuff?

Have a super weekend and I'll see you on Monday!

scene in a garden

Morning everyone! Are you as glad as I am that it is the end of the week? I love Friday's and I'm excited because I have a Tastefully Simple party to demonstrate tomorrow...yay!

This is a the first thing that I made with the Stampin' Up! products that I showed you on Wednesday. The stamp set is a new on in the Occasions Mini Catalog and is called Scene In A Garden. Isn't it lovely? I decided to keep it clean and simple (which is now a challenge on SCS). Please don't look at where I rocked the stamp with the pots...it isn't there! LOL! I'm always in need of thank you cards so I used the thank you sentiment out of the Three Little Words set for this card. Oh, and since the table looked like it was floating in mid air I used my Scor-Pal to make score lines just under the table to ground it a little. The color was added with some markers and some water coloring...just depending on what I needed. The only thing I don't love, honestly, is the ribbon. It is the only one I had that I thought would work....after I put it on here I got an RAK of Chocolate Chip Taffeta which would have been perfect but that is okay, right?

Have you signed up for the blog candy I'm offering up thanks to the very generous Mandy from limeLIGHT? You can see it HERE. Hurry though as entries close at 5 p.m. tonight! If I get at least 50 entries I'll add another little piece of candy to the mix so we'll have three winners so be sure to tell everyone!

Okay, I have to tell you guys something about me. First, Thursday's are kinda my day off. If I exercise it is a light one and I don't commit myself to anything that isn't fun on Thursdays (okay I do mop and dust on Thursdays too...not fun but the two chores I really don't mind doing). So, yesterday was a light workout day and then I popped in my Mama Mia movie, and got to work mopping...yeah, Todd laughed at me 'cuz when he came home the first time it was on...when he came home hours later...it was still on. I LOVE THAT MOVIE!!! I played the movie all the way through twice and then watched the bonus features. What a nerd I am, huh? And, I'm downloading the movie soundtrack too today. My boys are going to go BATTY! Teehee! Gotta love it!

Anyway, I hope you manage to take some time for yourself this weekend! I'll be back tomorrow for the first Sweet Stop sketch challenge. The Sweet Stop is SNSS's new sketch challenge blog. There will be new challenges each Saturday for everyone to try. Hop on over, sign up to follow the blog and then join us tomorrow!

Card deets:
Stamps: Scene In A Garden, Three Little Words
Ink: Basic Brown, Pumpkin Pie, Apricot Appeal
Paper: None
Accessories: Rose Red Stitched Grosgrain, SU! Markers, Scor-Pal

sassy wedding and some candy

Morning everyone! We are on the downward slope towards Friday...woohoo!

Today I thought it would be fun to show you some of the wedding items that limeLIGHT Papercraft carries. I bought this cute set called Sassy Wedding Set by Stampendous some time ago to make a card for a co-worker of Todd's that was getting married. Yeah...we decided not to go to the wedding and I slacked on the card. Shame on me. But, I just knew this set would be cute so I pulled it out along with some great Pebbles patterned paper called Wedding Words and made this card. I have to tell you that this is the 5th image that I stamped. The first three weren't spaced correctly but the fourth one...wonderful...until I smudged it with God knows what....grrrr! So, I have to go with this 5th image. Anyway, I added some fun silver rhinestones from KaiserCraft. Gotta have some bling on the card ya know. Whatcha think...kind of a fun card, huh? While you are over checking out the items I've hyperlinked you too make sure you click on "home" so you can see the fun specials Mandy has going on right now!

Oh, wanna know something really fun? Mandy, over at LLPC has given me the okay to give away TWO packages (two winners) of silver rhinestones...yay Mandy! Soooooo...wanna win? Okay, just leave me a comment on THIS post, with a way to get a hold of you (otherwise you can't win) by Friday night at 5 p.m. Tell your friends, tell your family, tell strangers in the street (okay not them) to come on by and comment for their chance to win. Only one comment per person please. And as a gift from me if the first person whose name is chosen would like the above card as well as the rhinestones then it is for you!

Now, go...have a super day and don't forget to comment!

Card deets:
Stamps: Sassy Wedding by Stampendous
Cardstock: Pure Poppy, PTI White, Pebbles Wedding Words, True Black

i'm in!

Morning everyone! Sorry, no card for you today but I thought I'd share a couple of things with you.

I got a really fun Stampin' Up! order yesterday which, as you can see, consists of some stamp sets from the Occasions mini catalog. Even though you can't see it in my picture, I also got the new Three Tier Cake Pop-up Bigz XL die. Guess what we'll be using at our next stamp club? I'm so excited! You can also see the And Many Mower set that we'll be using at my Father's Day Stamp Camp. Fun stuff!

The other thing I wanted to tell you about is....I'm getting Copic Certified! Yep, I got into the Portland class in May! I become giddy just thinking about it! Todd is driving down there with me so we'll have a little together time then which is always nice. If you or someone you know will be attending please let me know. I'd love to be sure to get to meet you in person! Hi ThereOh, and check out the place where the class will be held and where we have our overnight reservation. It looks really nice!

I have, finally, been able to break the plain of the final set of about 5-7 pounds that I'd like to loose before summer (or certainly before the Copic certification). I'm THRILLED as that has been SO hard! Hopefully it will change my mind set a little and the last few pounds will be much easier.

Anyway, I hope that you all have a wonderful Hump Day. I'm off to face the 28 mph winds we are going to have today. Joy, joy! Losing It

Oh, and holy moly...check out THIS blog candy!

bloomin' beautiful

Good morning! This will be a quick post and go. I have to shower and get out the door quickly today.

I made this card for the Latenight Stampers Challenge #15...flowers, flowers, and more flowers. I used the super pretty SU! set called Bloomin' Beautiful and just popped up the bloom on this flower. It is so lovely in real life! In order to make this look a little watercolor like I used my Aqua Painter with my stamp pads and painted the color on the stamp...then stamped the image. Worked like a charm.

Alright...card deets below and I'll see ya tomorrow!

Card deets:
Stamps: Bloomin' Beautiful
Ink: Kiwi Kiss, Pink Piourette, Riding Hood Red
Paper: Bella Rose, Riding Hood Red, WW, Pink Piourette
Accessories: Kiwi Kiss Satin Ribbon, Dimentionals, Mat Pack and piercer

a true friend

Good morning everyone! We have a very sunshiny and warm start (up to 80 at my house today!) to our week this week! It is wonderful!

Today's senior design team challenge at Sweet N Sassy Stamps in to make a scripture card. Inside or out it is up to you it just has to have a scripture on it. And, I literally just realized I picked a stamp without a scripture...but it is from a scripture set called A True Friend so maybe that will qualify me instead. Sheesh...what an airhead I am! Okay, and now I'm a true airhead as I just went back to link up the stamp set and it isn't even a scripture set so don't use mine as an example of this challenge!

Anyway, I have a friend that moved here about 3 years ago and we became fast friends. At the beginning of the year this year her husband left his job and has been hunting for once since then. The good news? He has found a fantastic job! Pays well, great Christian boss, all that stuff! The not so good news? It is in Florida. I have been trying to get myself used to the fact that there will be no more weekly lunches with her and to be honest...it feels weird. Thankfully we both text so that will be a great way to keep in contact. All that to say...I have made several cards that I could give to her. This is one of them. I love the soft colors of this card and the Iris' are a lovely "watermark" of sorts for the sentiment. Anyway, the deets will be below but I recently got Gina K's first Stamp T.V. Kit and I used it for this card. And the layout is from Taylored Expressions.

Alright ladies...that is it for today! I hope you have a super Monday and I'll see you tomorrow for an all Stampin' Up! card!

Card deets:
Stamps: A True Friend (SNSS), Elegant Flowers (Gina K)
All the rest: Stamp T.V. Showtime Kit

surprise

Morning all! I know I said I wouldn't be posting on Sunday's anymore but since I didn't post yesterday I thought I'd do a quick post today.

Kyler's birthday was a week and a half ago and I figured it was about time to get those thank you notes made and sent out so I sat down to make something that was at least relatively easy and that represented Kyler's personality. This is what I came up with. It isn't the most elaborate card but it truly is my Kyler. He loves sports of just about any kind! The only thing I didn't think about until I was on card 5 out of 6 was that I should have used paper that had green in it since green is his favorite color. Honestly though, I don't really think he'll care all that much! The sketch is from i {heart} 2 stamp.

I've got so many things that I want to stamp today to show you this next week so I'm excited to get to work. First I must actually go to work today so...I'm off!

Have a super Sunday everyone!Cross

Card deets:
Stamps: Sporting, Just Basketball, Just Golf, Just Baseball, Just Football, A Little Birdie Told Me (sentiment)
Ink: Riding Hood Red, Pumpkin Pie, Basic Brown, So Saffron
Paper: Washington Apple DSP, Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron, Bashful Blue, Whisper White
Accessories: Square punches, Dimensionals

thank you

It's Friday! Woohoo! Gotta love the end of what, for me, has been a busy week, huh?

I finally decided to buy the new PaperTrey Ink set called Damask Design. I have loved all of the wonderful cards I've seen with it so...here is my first try. I'll be honest...I'm sure I saw this somewhere but I don't recall where.

The cardstock is all PTI as well and the sentiment is from the same Damask set just stamped separately instead of in a line. And, yes...the ribbon is from PTI as well. I really love the rich, classy feel of this card. Wouldn't it be great to use it for wedding or anniversary thank you's?

Anyway, I hope you have having a great week!

Card deets:
Stamps: Damask Design
Cardstock: PTI Pure Poppy, True Black, White
Ink: Pure Poppy
Accessories: Satin Ribbon in True Black (PTI), Tiny Twinkles from Taylored Expressions

I used some cute Pebbles Paper in a fun stripe using the opposite side for my base (almost) color. I used a cupcake from the Unity Stamps Cupcakes A La Yummy set (that you can find HERE). I also used some Shimmerz in Angel Wings on the icing of the cupcake. Finally my rub on is from Pink Paislee and are called Sweet Cakes Rub-Ons. thinkin' about ya...

Morning everyone! Did you have a good start to your week? Yesterday was a day off for Kyler so really...we just hung out together and he got some school work done. I am so blessed to be able to be home with him on days off like that!

Remember the image I told you that I spilled diet coke on? Yeah, it would have looked like this one. I actually like my coloring on this flower better so, yay!

The SNSS senior design team challenge for this week is a "thinking of you" card. When I saw the challenge I just knew I had to use the Bee Happy set. I love the bees, flower, and fun sentiments that are included in this set! I am having a hard time getting good pictures again so just imagine much prettier colors in real life, k?

I hope you get a chance to participate in this challenge. I know you are like I am and send this type of card so...go stamp!

I hope you have a super day today!

for all you do

Good Monday morning! I hope you had a wonderful Easter with your family! Here...church was wonderful and we had dinner at our house with some new friends and that was fun too!

I thought I'd show you a card with all Stampin' Up! that I made for the Late Night Stampers color challenge this week. When I read about Late Night Stampers on Mary Jo Price Williams blog I thought I'd join and see what it is all about as the name...it is so me. You see, I much prefer to stamp at night. Come to find out...LNS's are all about SU! That is wonderful as my SU! stamps are under used so it will give me a great reason to get them out! Anyway, the color challenge was Baja Blue, Sahara Sand, Chocolate Chip, and Very Vanilla. I didn't think I was going to be able to do it but this is what I came up with and I like it! I'll put the details below.

I was actually planning on making a card for the SNSS Senior DT challenge today but I spilled my diet coke (my first in 40 days!) on it and was just too mad to continue! Silly me! How could I possibly waste diet coke?! Hopefully, I can make the SNSS card today and show it to you tomorrow.

I've got to run. Lots to do on Mondays! Have a super day everyone!

Card deets:
Stamps: Petal Pizzazz, Absolutely Fabulous
Cardstock: Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, Sahara Sand

Good Friday

Jesus Christ, 33, of Nazareth, died Friday on Mount Calvary, also known as Golgotha, the place of the skull. Betrayed by the apostle, Judas, Jesus was crucified by the Romans, by order of the Ruler Pontius Pilate.

The causes of death were crucifixion, extreme exhaustion, severe torture and loss of blood.

Jesus Christ, a descendant of Abraham, was a member of the house of David. He was the Son of the late Joseph, a carpenter of Nazareth, and Mary, His devoted Mother. Jesus was born in a stable in the city of Bethlehem, Judea. He is survived by His mother, Mary, His faithful Apostles, numerous disciples and many other followers.

Jesus was self-educated and spent most of his adult life working as a Teacher. Jesus also occasionally worked as a Medical Doctor and it is reported that he healed many patients. Up until the time of His death, Jesus was teaching and sharing the Good News, healing the sick, touching the lonely, feeding the hungry and helping the poor.

Jesus was most noted for telling parables about His Father's Kingdom and performing miracles, such as feeding over 5,000 people with only five loaves of bread and two fish, and healing a man who was born blind. On the day before His death, He held a Last Supper celebrating the Passover Feast, at which He foretold His death.

The body was quickly buried in a stone grave, which was donated by Joseph of Arimathea, a loyal friend of the family. By order of Pontius Pilate, a boulder was rolled in front of the tomb. Roman soldiers were put on guard.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that everyone try to live as Jesus did. Donations may be sent to anyone in need.

happy summer

Morning ladies!

First I have to say....HAPPY BIRTHDAY KYLER!!! My baby turns 11 today and I just can hardly believe it!!
Happy Birthday
Anyway, I just signed up for a swap with a friend of mine and I *think* I'll send to my assigned person. The swap is called "Send over Sunshine" as we are all definitely anticipating summer.

I used the SNSS set Dream Silhouettes again but this time I paired it with one of the patterned paper from Basic Grey's Urban Prairie pack. A little bow finishes it off nicely. At least I think so.

Okay, I'm off to start my day! I hope you all have a wonderful Thursday!

Card deets:
Stamps: Dream Silhouette, PTI Mailbox Greetings
Cardstock: Real Rose, PTI white, Basic Grey Urban Prairie
Accessories: Top Note Die w/Big Shot, White Taffeta Ribbon

easter cross

Hello everyone! Sorry for the late, and will have to be short, post.

I started this card last night and just couldn't pull it together but this morning...taadaa! I have had this wonderful Stampendous stamp that I got from limeLIGHT for sometime now and have just gotten to use it. Isn't it lovely?! I inked the stamp in Regal Rose and then rocked it in Chocolate Chip and look how it came out...with the main message of Easter the highlighted part. I LOVE it! The paper is from TaaDaa and I added some Prima's, a pearl, and the sentiment is from a SNSS set called Easter Lily.

Okay...I totally have to run but I hope that you are having a super day and I'll be back tomorrow! HUGS to everyone!

happy spring

Good morning everyone! How did your Monday go? Uneventful I hope! **Yep, I'm a dork and posted this Monday night instead of Tuesday morning...sorry!**

After I made my last cupcake card I just had to make another with the spring cupcake. Isn't she cute? I imagine she is closing her eyes, enjoying the fresh, WARM, spring air. Ahhh...love it! So tell me...what do you think of the color combination this time? I couldn't decide if I liked the orange behind the image. And, I kinda wish I would have made the circle bigger but...such is life. This one has been set aside for Todd's grandma. I wish I could be there when she opens it as I know she will love it!

This is another kinda busy week...not like last week but still busy. Kyler's birthday is on Thursday and his sleepover with friends is on Friday. The good news is...I finished my SNSS Round-Up card for the 15th today. You guys are going to love it...it is so fun!

So...that is it for today. I hope that you have a super Tuesday and get lots checked off your to do list!
