hb2u

Good morning everyone! I hope you've had a wonderful week so far. The beginning of the week went pretty slow but now that we are sneaking up on Friday I'm not sure what I did with all that time!

Today, I get to show you a card that I had a lot of fun making. First, the sketch is Carly's sketch for this week. You still have time to make a card and enter it to win a digi image from Designed2Delight so go check it out!

I used a super fun image from MFT called The ala modes in "Birthday Girl." Too cute, right? I added some of my favorite Me & My Big Ideas birthday patterned paper along with some fabulous Smooch and Clear Star Gelly Roll pen for some bling, I'm excited because I think you can actually see the smooch and such...FUN!

Then I decided to try an easel card. I've never made one but I'm not sure why as they are SO super easy! All you do is make a card front and attach it to an 4 1/4 x 11" piece of cardstock that has been scored at 2 3/4" and 5 1/2". You must try this!

Now, onto the winner of the little blog candy from my Scrap-Creations post on Tuesday. First the movie I made the card for is....Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. I LOVE that movie. Well, that one and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Meet Me In St. Louis, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (the original). Guess you could say that I like older musicals, huh? Anyway the winner is...or should I say winners are as there were two correct guesses so I can't just choose one so...Creative Mish and my friend Jennifer K e-mail me your info and I'll get you a little something out to you!

Well, that is it from me today. Tomorrow I have a super cute box to show you made with a The Stamping Boutique image. Hope you come back to see it!

Going Grey with Scrap- Creations

Hello friends! Welcome to another week of Going Grey with Scrap-Creations challenges! Just remember you don't have to use just Basic Grey paper anymore...you can use anything you'd like!

This week's challenge is to make a card that represents your favorite movie. Well, like many other things I don't have a single favorite movie but I do like several so I just chose from those. My movie for today is....HA! I'm not telling. I want you to guess based on what my card is. And, yes there is a prize! A couple of hints...one, if you are a friend of mine on FB I posted about it a couple of days ago. Two, it is an older musical. (the sentiment on the card doesn't have anything to do with the movie. just think of the type of card)

The patterned paper that this card is made of is from MME and the shape was cut with my Cricut. I got a bunch of gate fold SVG's from SVG Cuts and this is one of them. Almost makes making this card a bit of a cheat ya know? The outside and inside sentiments are from Verve's set called Love Story. The ink and ribbon is from PTI and just seemed to match perfectly...I love that! So that I could tie this card together the way that I did I just cut a length of ribbon, adhered it to the back and then taped the front sentiment to the ribbon.

Once again, I apologize for the photo. I thought it looked better this way then when PSE put a whole bunch of blue into the photo.

Anyway, go ahead and guess what movie this card is for by Wednesday night at 6:00 p.m. PST and I'll post a winner either Thursday or Friday.

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Peace

Good morning friends! We've arrived at the beginning of another week. Can you believe that October 1st is on Friday? Crazy!

So, last week you saw the card I made with the Designed2Delight digi image called Scaredy Cat, right? Well, when I participated in that little challenge I automatically got this week's digi stamp for free! This isn't just a stamp this week though. It is a full set with two images and two sentiments and they are just lovely! This set was made as a sympathy set but I do believe that it could be used to make "I'm praying for you" cards as well. You can see all of the images as well as sentiments at the link above.

Now, real quick. I used some new SEI papers that I got a couple of weeks ago called Dill Blossom. The Dill Blossom paper pack has several color themes in it and I just chose this one as I thought the colors were soothing. I also used this weeks sketch from The Sweet Stop for this card.

Alright, so...tomorrow's challenge for the Going Grey with Scrap-Creations challenge is going to be fun! I hope you'll check back to see what that is all about!

Scaredy Cat

Good morning friends! This week has just been a super busy week and I've had little to no time to be in my stamp room...dang it! So frustrating but I hope to get back in there tonight or tomorrow for sure!

This card is made with the Designed2Delight digital stamps image of the week, Scaredy Cat. If you make a card with the image and post/link it up by tonight at 11:59 pm you automatically will receive the next weeks digi image sent to you via e-mail. Pretty cool, huh?

If you look close enough you can see that I used some glaze pen on the cats nose as well as in the eyes, nose, and mouth of the pumpkin. What is surprising to me is that I'm actually having fun making Halloween cards this year. I'm trying hard not to use images that may be scary or "evil" and it is great to find lots of them out there (just check back tomorrow or Saturday to see another one)!

Anyway, there is the card. Sorry for the bad picture...we have been cloudy when I've wanted to take the photo recently.

Have a wonderful day! Smiley from millan.net

Going Grey with Scrap- Creations

Happy Tuesday all! I hope you had a wonderful start to your week!

Today is the Going Grey with Scrap-Creations day! We are sponsored by Fred She Said and I'm telling ya you should go check out the images as they are super cute! I did something with today's card that I've never done since I've started making cards. I used a pre-colored image. I love to color but I just couldn't get over how beautiful the colors were in the pre-colored image so I went with it. I chose to highlight the green and yellow in the coat and leaves with my other colors but I did forget one vital thing...can you guess what? First person that guesses correctly gets a little prize from me but I have to tell you...I was really laughing at myself for my mistake! Ladies on the DT don't get to play for this one.

So, you need to head on over to Kristen's blog HERE to check out all of the deets for this challenge and then be sure to check out all of the other DT blogs. They are linked in the right bar of my blog and trust me on this one...they are FABULOUS!

Can't Catch Me

Happy Friday all! I can hardly believe how fast this week has gone! I hope you've accomplished a lot this week.

Today's fun card is with a brand new line from The Stamping Boutique called Candy Land Winter. Obviously this is the gingerbread man image. All I could think of when I saw him was the gingerbread man in the movie Shrek..."you can't catch me" in that squeaky voice. LOL! The gingerbread man with the heard is actually a magnet for your refrigerator (or wherever you want to use it) so it is a little gift built right into the card. Kinda fun, huh? I used a sketch by Carly for this card, too! Tomorrow TSB is hosting a Digi Image Day on Papercraft Planet and would love for you to play along. The info is below. Hope you can join us!

The Stamping Boutique Digi Image Day on PCP
We at the Stamping Boutique have decided to try something new on PCP with you all...how does a digital image day sound to you? This will be our very first time doing this with PCP and are super excited, so excited that we are going to do a mini release for this digi day!!!
Think back to when you were little...what was your favorite game? I"m not talking about computer games or video games...I'm talking about good old fashion family night fun board kind of game. I ask this question because not only because this is the theme for our very first digi day but it also has something to do with the new image release. Have I peaked your interest yet? Here are the details:
The Stamping Boutique Digi Image Day

Where: on PCP at The Stamping Boutique group page
When: September 18th, Saturday
Time: 2PM to 4PM
What to Bring: your crafting supplies
What will be supplied: free new release images, lots of great chatter and prizes
How to join in the fun: become a member of The Stamping Boutique on PCP (and the main blog too if you want) and on the day of the digi image day I will have a discussion set up just for us to chat and get the challenges so when your there just stop by and say hello so I know your ready to play!
I hope that you all will join us for the fun. I can guarantee you are going to LOVE this new set of images from Tracey. We will be doing 3 challenges and playing 1 game...so you have 4 chances to win some awesome prizes from The Stamping Boutique.

I forgot!

Ack! I'm so sorry everyone! I forgot to announce the winners of my blog candy from the OWH blog hop on Saturday.

Only three people commented correctly for the blog candy so I'm going to award them all a prize. Here is how it will work...Donna commented first so she will get her choice of the unmounted stamps or a digital image. If the unmounted stamps are still available then Carley will get the chance to chose and finally TAS will get the final choice if the unmounted stamps are still available. Since there are only three winners I'm happy to award each one of you a digital image if no one wants the unmounted stamps so you ladies just e-mail me (link on the left side)and let me know what you'd like!

Congrats Donna, Carley, and TAS!!

Baby Fairy

Morning all! Wow, it is Wednesday already! Today is Kyler's first day of chapel so we all have to be sure that he remembers chapel clothes today.

I made today's card shortly after I found out that I had made The Stamping Boutiques design team. Isn't that image just adorable? Goodness I love it. Yes, it did have a recipient that it was going to but, unfortunately, that person ended up having a miscarriage. So sad. I tried to make the card so that it could be for a boy or girl. That is harder than it sounds for sure! The paper is just some that I had in my stash and then the center part is a real wide piece of dark brown scalloped type of ribbon with a wrapping of blue satin ribbon (that I had gotten in my thank you bag from Ellen Hutson). I added lots of Smooch to this card and it shimmer and shines so nicely in real life.

I'm working on another fun card for TSB but am just having a little problem with finding just the right embellishment for it. I know what I want to do I just don't think I can find it this time of the year.

I went to the Verizon store yesterday and put my deposit down on a DroidX...that is coming in TODAY so I'll be anxiously awaiting the phone call that it is in. What are your plans today? LOL!

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Going Grey with Scrap- Creations

And here we are at Tuesday. I hope you had a wonderful Monday and got lots done. I don't know why, but I've been grumpy the last couple of days so nothing has been turning out the way I'd like it to. Smiley from millan.net

Onto a brighter note....today is Scrap-Creation challenge day and today's challenge is to use your favorite digi. That is easy, huh? Not for me. I don't have a favorite color combo, type of card to make, or stamp (digi or rubber) so I just chose a digi stamp that I really like and have never used. Before you ask...I have NO idea where I got it from. All of the papers, ribbon, and embellishments are from the June TI kit though.

I don't have a ton on the agenda today but I'm hoping to get some fun stuff done in my stamp room so we'll see.

I hope you all have a fantastic day! Smiley from millan.net

The Dani-Lorie Project

Morning friends (unless you are looking at this at night 'cuz I pushed the wrong button then...good evening!). I hope you had a wonderful weekend! Last night was a frustrating night in my stamp room but I have a card to show you.

Now, I do not want to hear you laughing at this card! I chose the challenge this week and it was to be embossing with our Cuttlebug. Well, I used a Cuttlebug folder and my Big Shot but you get the idea. I wanted to try a new to me technique with the double embossing on the card and thought it would be nice to use one of the stamps that I got from Dani through her Ippity business. The patterned paper under the embossed area is from SEI. I do have a favorite part of this card and that is the inside. The simplicity of the 'thanks" (like it says on the front...go figure) and the paper are just perfect together, I think at least.

Now, I'm sure Dani has an amazing card so make sure you click HERE to see it and don't forget to check out the {ippity} stamps she has for sale! Oh, and make sure you stop by tomorrow as my card for the Scrap-Creations Challenge is looking pretty good!

Now, go...have a wonderful day!

Sunday Share

Morning everyone! Today my Sunday Share is another video. This is a brand new Third Day song that I've really taken too. I've put the lyrics at the end of the post so that you can following along if you want. Have a wonderful day! Do you hear Him calling?

Lift Up Your Face
Lift up your face, lift up your face
Salvation is calling, salvation is calling

You have fallen so far now
You don’t even know how, you are going to survive
(But) Just above the horizon
A new light is shining, breaking through the darkest night
Love is coming and it’s calling out your name

Lift up your face, lift up your face
Salvation is calling, salvation is calling
Lift up your face, lift up your face
Salvation is calling, salvation is calling your name

You feel like your life is fading
You’re tired of waiting, for your moment to arrive
But tomorrow will bring a song that you can sing
And your hope is gonna rise
Love is coming and it’s calling out your name

Lift up your face, lift up your face
Salvation is calling, salvation is calling
Lift up your face, lift up your face
Salvation is calling, salvation is calling your name

Oh yeah…
Do you hear Him calling?
Can you hear Him calling?
He’s calling out your name
He’s calling out your name

Lift up your face, lift up your face
Salvation is calling, salvation is calling

Lift up your face, lift up your face
Salvation is calling, salvation is calling your name

Can you hear Him calling?
Can you hear Him calling now?
Oh, can you hear Him calling you
He is calling you now
He is calling out your name

Just above the horizon
A new light is shining
Salvation’s on its way

Patriot Day (and blog candy!)

Morning friends. If you are anything like me when you say or write 9/11 you get a very strange almost deja vu type of experience and for good reason. It is a day that will live in our memories forever, it is a day that has changed almost every aspect of our lives, it is a day to remember the almost 3,000 people that died on 9/11/01 and it is a day to remember our troops that continue to fight the war on terrorism.

In the spirit of this Patriot Day, Operation Write Home is hosting a special blog hop of which, we the members of The Stamping Boutique, are honored to be a part of. We were provided with a couple of different images to work worth and I chose the ribbon image you see. The best part is, this ribbon image is FREE to everyone today! Just go HERE to check it out! At the end of this blog post I will have a link to the next DT members blog so you can see what Marie has done. This blog hop, this entire day is close to my heart. Some of you may know that my middle son, Jon, is currently at Basic Training and I am the wife of a retired Army enlisted man. My eyes always tear up when I think of Sept. 11th and all the men and women who have been deployed to Iraq...my husband included.

Today I want to do a little Random Act of Kindness (blog candy) to thank you for visiting our blog hop and remembering our soldiers (maybe you could fly your American Flag today?). For one visitor that comments on my blog I will have a unmounted stamp that says Live Well, laugh often, Love Much! and an unmounted stamp that says Smile (Both of these stamps are from Elzybels) . In addition to that I will be purchasing one additional winner on my blog with a The Stamping Boutique single digital image of their choice! So that is TWO winners! What do you have to do to win? Well, I'd like you to go to the Operation Write Home main page HERE and tell me the names of the blogs that they write. It is easy to find so don't worry. Once you find them come back here and leave me a comment with the names. Please play nice and don't just copy what everyone else has written! And please only one comment per person. You have until Sunday evening at midnight (PST) to enter and I'll announce the winners on my post on Tuesday.

So...off you go to the Operation Write Home main page! Have a wonderful Saturday and I'll see ya back tomorrow for my Sunday share!

Your next stop on the hop is to Marie...check her out HERE

Spooky Birdhouse

Happy Friday friends! I can't believe how fast this week has gone. Thank you for all your good wishes for Kyler's first day of school. He had a wonderful day and didn't get discouraged at all about the homework on the first day...yay!

I got this image when I became a DT member with The Stamping Boutique. I wasn't real sure when I'd use it but I sat down the other night and made this card. Isn't it fun? Truly this was such a fun image to work with! The bat/lime green paper is from K&Co. I have used lots and lots of sparkle on this card but, unfortunately, you can't see it. I also used another sketch from Sketches By Carly. The name of this sketch is Picnic Blanket and my card couldn't be any further away from a picnic blanket, could it? LOL!

Well, I must scoot! I will be back tomorrow with another card from The Stamping Boutique...it is a special day you know!

See you then!

Happy Fall

Morning everyone! T-9 minutes til Kyler gets up for his first day of 7th grade! So exciting! Todd is making him breakfast and I'm going to pack his lunch, both things he usually does for himself but it is the first day of school!

So...to make this quick. This pumpkin shaped card was made, again, with my Cricut and an SVG from SVG Cuts. I basically CASED the sample but I would have done it this way anyway, so not really. Did that make any sense? Ah, well! Anyway, there are five basic parts of the card. The pumpkin card base was cut with Pumpkin Pie cardstock, the outside of the pumpkin with some patterned paper I have had in my stash forevah plus a piece of Pumpkin Pie CS (the two pieces, patterned and solid, are two different pieces that I could cut at the same time), the stem is just Close to Cocoa with some lines drawn and then the inside, the leaves are some that, again, I've had forevah, and then the inside is a separate cut file and is cut in Close to Cocoa as well. I also used a fall Cuttlebug folder for the outside piece. I did some sponging and tahdah...I was done. I will say the inside is not quite perfect yet but I'm getting there. Also, the inside doesn't stand up as well in the picture because I had to set the pumpkin down instead of holding it open.

So, there you have it! I just love this card and will probably make more of these in their fall pop up line. Is there anyone that reads my blog that might be interested in a swap that would include using their Cricut? Let me know!

It is now T-2 minutes til Kyler gets up so I should run so I can great him! Have a super Thursday everyone! See ya tomorrow with, what I think is, a super cute Halloween card!

A Cuppa Joe

Good morning friends! Well, can you believe it is the middle of the week already? Crazy, huh? Remember I told you the other day that I was making a couple of cards with my Cricut? Well, this is one of them. Isn't it cute? How fun to send as a tea party invitation or just to send to a friend that you haven't seen in awhile.

I got this cut file (SVG) from My Scrap Chick. It took me a couple of trial and errors to get it to look the way I wanted but believe it or not...I succeeded. I believe this patterned paper is from the Basic Grey Porcelain pack. I just sponged the sides with some of the PTI chamomile tea dye. It was just the perfect color to make the paper look distressed. Oh, and the sentiment is from a Gina K set but I don't recall the name...it is the cute coffee set, though!

Anyway, today is Kyler's student orientation at school. Basically they just go in, see how the room is set up, drop off their school supplies and have a hot dog lunch, then start school tomorrow. We are taking one of his friends as his mom can't make it and then he'll come over to play for the afternoon...one last hurrah for the summer.

Well, I hope you enjoy your Wednesday! See you tomorrow!

Way to go!

Morning everyone! If you had yesterday off like we did then I'm sure you are like me and are having a hard time remember today is Tuesday not Monday...lol! School starts in just two days here. These last two weeks have gone SO fast!

Today is another Going Grey with Scrap-Creations challenge day and today's challenge is about kids and our images are from the Wildflower Patch Store. You have got to go check out their images they are way to cute! This card is made with the i{heart} to stamp sketch for the week.

Don't forget that we are no longer requiring the use of just Basic Grey paper (even though we ALL love it!) so get that mojo going and create a super cute kids card!

Don't forget to visit the rest of the design team and make sure you welcome our newest members, Kristine at Ink Something 2, and Marie at Card Making Bird.

Have a wonderful day all!

Audrey + Cupcake = Cute!

Happy Labor Day everyone! I hope you have been enjoying your long weekend (if you get one)! We have been pretty laid back here mostly because Todd works weekends right now but all is good...I don't mind being a home body at all!

I got the chance to use a couple of The Stamping Boutique images over the last couple of days and boy are they CaUTE! This is Audrey With A Cupcake and it makes the cutest birthday card, don't you think? I also used a sketch to make this card with from Sketches By Carly. Carly is the daughter of Kristine at Ink Something 2. Not only does she make super sketches but her cards are super cute, too. The fun part with this sketch is that there is a prize involved for one person who does the sketch so you know you must go check it out!

I've been working on a couple of cards made with my Cricut as well as traditional card making so I'll be showing those to you soon too PLUS tomorrow is the Going Grey Challenge with Scrap-Creations so you'll have to stop back and check that out. Just a hint...my card is all boy!

Alright, I'm off to exercise and do some crafting. Have a super day everyone!

Sunday Share

Good morning friends! My Sunday share today is a great song sung by Allison Krauss. It is called When God Dips His Pen Of Love In My Heart. There is no video so to speak so just enjoy listening to the words of this lovely song!

Fun Announcement!

Good Thursday morning everyone! Can you believe the week is winding down already? Wow, how time flies!

I've decided that I can't wait to share with you some fabulous news any longer. Guess who I'll be working with for the next three months? That's right! The Stamping Boutique! It is actually kind of funny because I applied for the DT but didn't think I'd be considered for it so I kind of forgot about it...okay, I filed it away, then I saw the announcement on their blog, got all the information via email and I was SHOCKED and oh, so pleased!

I made a card to show you all with one of their fabulous images but I need to hold off on that one for awhile so I'll be in my stamp room this morning and after Care Net and the fair to whip up a card that features one of their cutest images (I think), Audrey so make sure you stop back tomorrow! In the mean time go ahead and stop over to check out their store, I just know you will love what they have to offer! And be sure to check out all the DT member's blogs...what a talented group they are!
