C.R.A.F.T. Challenge

This week Great Impressions Stamps is sponsoring the C.R.A.F.T. Challenge.  This week the challenge is 'bling' and who doesn't like bling?
I had a great time combining stamps for this challenge...three in all.  Birdie with spring flowers C401, Dainty Butterfly A149 and Happy Everything B246.  In addition to bling on the butterflies and the birdie (which I couldn't capture) there is bling on all the flowers (which you can kinda see below).  I love the happy happy, bright colors and layout of this card...so fun!

Easter Leesa

Easter cuteness abounds everywhere in my little town including in my craft room where I've created another fun card this time using Easter Leesa from Imagine That digis by Kris.  Isn't she just adorable in her Easter outfit?  I remember getting a new Easter dress each year...it made me feel so special!
I hope you have plans with family and friends this Easter!  My hubby works but we will have Easter dinner when he gets home and I'm really looking forward to it!

Remember...it's not about the bunny.

EGGstra special!

Okay, it's Tuesday and you know that means it is Great Impressions Stamps day on my blog so lets get started!
I had a pot of very pretty tulips that I wanted to give to a friend for Easter so you know I had to make a little tag to present them to her.  For this super sweet tag I used F630 Harry With Egg and D517 Eggstra Special for the stamps and once again I've used the Cloud Stencil Kit to make the clouds.  To start the tag I used some shimmery white cardstock and stamped Harry then colored him and the grass with Copics before making the clouds using SU! Bashful Blue ink.  The patterned paper is probably getting repetitive for you but I love the colors in it.  On the egg is some Smooch in Illuminate.  The sentiment is stamped on a fun dimensional tag in Rich Razzleberry.  A splash of a polka dot ribbon at the top and tahdah...you are all set!

PDE Linky Party Day!

Hello friends!  It's FRIDAY and it is a PDE Linky Party Day on my blog!  Once a month I get to choose a project to share with you for the linky party and I like those projects to be fun and something I don't normally do.  Without further ado...my project!

To make these little note cards I used four 4x6 Project Life Cards (they come already scored for folding).  I used the SU! set Words of Truth for the sentiments on each of the cards.  Due to the fact that the stamp set was a rubber set I used my stamp-a-ma-jig to place the sentiments on each card.  A little more time consuming then I had originally thought but worth the effort!  These notecards are to give to my son or husband as little love notes but a little more 'manly'.  :)

Well, there you have it!  I hope you'll head over to the PDE Linky Party blog to check out what the design team made as well as enter your own project in the challenge!

Creative Bible Journaling

I've started a new creative process called Creative Bible Journaling.  I purchased a Bible that is specifically for journaling and will be creating in the margins (though some create on the entire page).  I've just finished my first, very simple, page and I really like it.  I've made some rookie mistakes that I'm really okay with making simple because I'm full of flaws and this process will be full of flaws too so I'm just going with it!  I thought the beginning would be a great place to start so presenting my first creative page on the first page of scripture in my journaling Bible!
First thing I did was purchase a journaling Bible.  You can see that they pages are only one column and leave much room on the side to journal.  After a little research I decided to go with Prismacolor Premier colored pencils for my coloring as I didn't want it to bleed though.  Well, the no bleed through went right on out the window when I stamped the globe in back and it bled though...flaw #1 (and that is the last one I numbered...lol).  I didn't want to have to use a prep material of any sort as i don't really create with a ton of forethought and most preparation materials require time to dry (or a dryer of some sort) but I guess I'll have to change that plan.  I ordered clear gesso for the meantime and will see how that works on the next try.
The stamps I used for this page are from Jaded Blossom (the world) and from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps (they have a whole new line just for Creative Bible Journaling!).  I've used Dew Drop inks and colored with the Prismacolor pencils and then blended the colors with their blender pencil.  I'm pretty unfamiliar with the pencils so they will take a bit to get used to but hey...we all learn new stuff everyday, right?
And here it is 'finished' (not really because I didn't like how the green flowered looked so I just took an eraser that I got with a prismacolor kit and erased it a bit and it doesn't look so out of place now).  I'm actually super pleased at my first try and it has really encouraged me to continue on.

I think I'll be doing a page a week based on the Bible Study memory verse that I'm learning for the week.  I'm also going to be dating all the creative journaling that I'll be doing so that I can see how my art changes over time.

I would love to hear your constructive feedback if you'd like to leave a comment!

Hoppy Tuesday!

Hello all and welcome to Great Impressions Tuesday!  To follow the theme for the month I've made another fun bunny card for Easter using Hoppy Easter F438.  Since it is such a simple stamp I thought building a scene for it would be perfect so I pulled out a grass die and the Cloud Stencil Kit from Great Impressions and got to work!
I added a few sequins in the sky and tied a bow with some white twine and I think this makes a super sweet Easter card!

Early birthday...

Happy Monday friends!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend!  Our youngest son is turning 18 next month but we gave him his gift yesterday so a bit early.  Why you may ask?  Well, this son pretty much loves anything Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons so I did a little search (gotta love Google don't ya?) and found that the theater presentation of Jersey Boys was going to be in Seattle this month so hubby and I decided we would take him to The Paramount Theater to see the show but first would be brunch at the Space Needle (which we have done before but is a big treat!) all for his 18th birthday!  This was all to be a surprise so we conspired with our son's employer to get him the day off, informed him the night before that he was to be up, fully dressed (dress pants, button down collared shirt, and tie) and ready to go by 8 a.m. on Sunday.  On the way to the Space Needle we gave him this card with the tickets for the show inside:
Like many soon to be 18 year old boys our son also likes to play video games.  He also loves the Green Bay Packers and the Wisconsin Badgers so I colored the images with those colors and, honestly, it represents him well though he does not skateboard.  :)  For this card I followed the CAS(E) this sketch #163 for this week.  This stretches the sketch a bit AND it stretched me quite a bit but I really love the way it came out!  The image and eat, sleep, game! sentiment are from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps but, unfortunately, they are no longer available.  The 'happy birthday' sentiment is from Jaded Blossom as are the star dies.

I'll be back later this week to share photos of the day!

Peek!

Well good morning friends and welcome to Great Impressions Tuesday!  I think spring might have actually sprung where I live so I thought why not pull out the fun brighter colors?
I started out with this super cute image called Puppy Peeking H264.  Isn't that puppy just the sweetest?  I love the expression on her face!  I colored her with Copics that are complimentary to the papers.  These papers are some super fun papers that I've had in my stash for awhile and I used a sketch that I found.  I added the twin for an extra little punch of color.

Now on the inside I wanted to the very cute Happy Everything B246 everything stamp but wanted to punch it up a little so I decided on a strip of the complimentary bee paper and stamped the sentiment directly on the paper.

Some bunny...

Good morning friends! Welcome to another fun challenge with Great Impressions Stamps!
Tis the season for all of those fun bunny and spring images and we'd love to see them all!  I've chosen a super cute new bunny to use for this challenge:
The very cute Dreaming Bunny (G532) and the adorable Bunny Loves You (D518) are perfect for that springtime card!  Great Impressions Stamps also has an awesome Cloud Stencil Kit that I used for the clouds in the background.  Talk about easy to use!  Check it out HERE!  The card layout is a Sketch from SVG Cutting Files and is so perfect for my dreaming bunny in the clouds don't you think?  I've added a touch of twine for that bow and it makes the best and cutest clean and simple card, don't you think?

Let Me Count The Ways

Hello friends!  It has been a week of downtime and sickness in our house.  It looks like my hubby is on the upside from the horrible ick that is going around though so that is good!

It is Tuesday so you know that means it is my day to post some fabby Great Impressions inspiration for you all!  My time in my crafty room has been so limited recently that I've taken to making some wonderful yet clean and simple creations of which this card is one of.
For this super sweet and fun card I used E840 Friendship Bees on the outside coloring them with Prismacolor Pencils and blending with a SU! blender pen.  I've added some Smooch on the bees wings and around the flower too.
Inside I used part of F614 Count The Ways though the entire sentiment would be adorable too!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  I would love to you to join us for our monthly challenge!  If you use a stamp from the Great Impressions online store, please link it up in our Customer gallery, too!
