MHKDesigns Oct/Nov Challenge

Woohoo!  It's Friday!  Who is ready for the weekend?  Me!  I'm also ready to show you my card for this month's MHKDesigns challenge!  I've loved having my cards up all week to show you guys so lets keep it going...
So...here is the great thing about MHKDesigns challenges...if you use an MHKDesigns image you can enter anything you make with it without having the follow the gorgeous prompt below.  Obviously my card did not work out to go with the prompt (even though I really did try!) but I gotta tell ya...I LOVE it!  It is a fun, kinda retro tree with a clean and simple layout.  The image and sentiment are from the Deck The Halls digi set and the papers from the Simply Seasonal paper set.
So, I think you should hop on over to the MHKDesigns blog to see what all the other design team members have made and to check out all the specifics about the challenge.  You'll also see what is being offered to the winner of the challenge!!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend and I'll be back on Monday!

MHKDesigns New Release Day #5 - Last Day :(

Ack, it is the last day for the new release!  What a fun set to end our releases with though...check it out!

Don't ya just love this fun New Year's set?!?!  And our design team hit it out of the park with the fun creations with this set too so you MUST go take a look at what they've done!  This set is aptly named, New Years Greetings.  For my sample today I've made a candy holder perfect for those New Years parties that you'll be going to this year!  (True confession time here...I've never been to a New Years party...I've only ever just celebrated with my family!)  Just adding a bit of ribbon, gold/silver on the hat, and a few pieces of bling really makes this a fun little thank you gift for your host!

I hope you've loved this month's release as much as I have! Make sure you hop on over to the MHKDesigns blog to check out what everyone else has made for today's release!  Remember to leave comments everywhere for a chance to win one of the new sets!  See you tomorrow for another fun new set!

MHKDesigns New Relase Day #4

Hello!  And here we are back for day #4 of the October new releases!  Once again, I'm excited to share what I made with you so lets get it going!

Oh my goodness...isn't this set just lovely? It is called Perfect Poinsettia and can be used for so many wonderful projects this Christmas!  Each year one of our local schools sells beautiful poinsettia's as a fund raiser and I always buy three from the first person that asks me.  I keep one for myself and give the other two away.  This tag is going to go on one of the plants that I give away.  For this tag I ran some patterned paper through my printer and then fussy cut it out to make this poinsettia look perfect, I added the perfect sentiment on a banner, used yellow pearls on the inside of the flower, and a little bit of bling to bring it all together.  This was a fun tag to make!

Okay, make sure you head on over to the MHKDesigns blog to check out what the other design team members made and make sure you comment as much as you can on all the blogs for a chance to win the new sets!

MHKDesigns New Release Day #3

Here we are one day #3 of the MHKDesigns new release!  I really love today's set (well, the next three days honestly!) and the card I've made as a sample today!  Ready?

Oh yes! Now we are getting into some fun holiday releases!  I simply adore this wreath and the wonderful things you can make with the set, Wonderful Wreath, and the papers that I've used with it called Deck The Halls!  The wreath is just so beautiful and I love that the bow on the wreath isn't perfectly tied...that would SO be me!

Make sure you hop on over to the MHKDesigns blog to check out what everyone else has made for today's release!  Remember to leave comments everywhere for a chance to win one of the new sets!  See you tomorrow for another fun new set!

MHKDesigns New Releases Day #2

Well, hello and welcome back for day 2 of the MHKDesigns October release week!  Wasn't that Chicken in set just so much fun yesterday?  Now shall we move onto today's new release?  Here we go!

Introducing the Various Vehicles set!  Isn't this just an incredible set for men?  My card was made for my dad's birthday.  I've also used You've Been Spotted in Rustics Papers.  The ship and plane in this set would also be perfect to use to make a card for someone going on a trip by plane or a cruise!

Such a great set, right?  Okay, make sure you head on over to the MHKDesigns blog to check out what the other design team members made and make sure you comment as much as you can on all the blogs for a chance to win the new sets!

MHKDesigns New Releases Day #1

Good morning and welcome to day one of the MHKDesigns October release!  It's going to be a great five days of creativeness both here and on the MHKDesigns blog so I hope you'll keep coming back to check out what is new!  Let's move onto day one shall we?

I simply adore this new set.  Such fun sentiments for everyday!  I've used the new set, Chicken In, as well as Country Farm Digi Papers for this card.  I'm always looking for a card that I can send that just says Hello so this will be perfect and is sure to bring a smile to the recipients face!

Make sure you hop on over to the MHKDesigns blog to check out what everyone else has made for today's release!  See you tomorrow for another fun new set!

happy birthay

Good morning and happy Saturday!  I hope you have a weekend filled with fun and crafty things!  I'm here this morning to show you a super quick card I made for my daughter-in-law's birthday.
Like me, my daughter-in-law loves Belle from Beauty & The Beast so it was natural I would make a card with Belle for her birthday.  I had procrastinated getting it done (and I'm still kinda in a crafty funk...I think I just need to sit down and be creative to get out of it) so it is a very clean, very simple card but I know I like it and I think she did too!

The image of Belle is from Jaded Blossom's set called Enchanted and a birthday sentiment from the So Many Birthday's set and the papers from a digi set of B&TB papers I got from etsy.  I love that the yellow paper is a foreshadow of who Belle is about to become. I used sketch 17 from Paper Play Sketches for this card, too.

Okay...I also want to tell you that tomorrow starts our five days of releases at MHKDesigns and I have some fabulous sets to share with you so I hope you'll stop back by!

happy birthday

Good morning friends!  I know that, once again, it has been awhile since I've been here.  I've been going through a little bit of a crafting funk but I think it is getting better which is why I'm here to share with you today.

My niece is having a birthday in about a week so I wanted to make her a card.  She is turning 21!!  I can hardly believe it!  She is attending the Air Force Academy in Colorado so I tried to make the card center around that.
The Air Force colors are blue and grey so I went with that color scheme.  The image is Liberty - Super Girl (because you know...all of our military members are super heroes!) from Stamp AnnieThing.  The papers are from Doodle Bug Design and are from a couple of different packs.  I've used dies from Jaded Blossom for her party hat, rectangle cuts, and flag.  The happy birthday sentiment is from Jaded Blossom's So Many Birthdays 2 set (40% off stamps at JB right now!).  Liberty and AF logos you see I cut with my  new Brother CutNScan...that machine is amazing!  Due to the hat and flag hanging off the side of the card I made an envelope that is 5"x6" to make sure nothing gets all bent up.  The sketch is a little altered but I used the Kraftin' Kimmie sketch for the month.

Well, there you have it!  I'm excited to do some more crafting today and be able to share it soon.  You'll want to keep stopping back as I've finished creating for the MHKDesigns new release later this month and the images/sentiments are just fabulous!

Have a wonderful Sunday everyone!
