contact card

I've asked a few people to make me a stamped contact card. I asked them if they would please make it so that it represents who they are on one side and on the other side put all their info. This is one that I've received from my friend Debby. It uses a Riley Moose stamp from Hanna Stamps and she told me that the arrow paper is because that is how she feels in the morning before her coffee. How cute and creative is that? Love it!

Kyler did an excellent job at the dentist yesterday. We thought we were going to be all done but because it took a full 2 hours yesterday instead of the 1 1/2 hours he thought it would take (a little more work was necessary then thought on one tooth) we have to go back next week for a 1/2 hour appointment to finish. The good part? He doesn't have to be numbed up again! Yay! He did have to have a shot in his palette this time and oh, boy...he was brave. He said it really hurt but he was such a champ, I'm telling ya! If I figure out how to get pictures off my camera I'll show you the set up that they used for his mouth. Very interesting stuff!

Anyway, I hope you have a great Thursday! I'll see you tomorrow with the little gifts (little is the operative word) I made for Kyler's teachers.

The Last Three

Since there was five cards in the swap I just decided to show you the last three today. Besides, this makes me have to sit down and create today!
This most adorable I Want It All Hanna was made by Lena Tacker. I didn't find a blog for her but her gallery on SCS is HERE.
This card was made by the fabulous TexasGrammy a.k.a Bev Gerard. Bev has been nice enough to share some tips for stamping and mothering with me. Her encouragement and kind words have really just touched my heart. She is truly a sweetie and an AWESOME stamper! Her blog is HERE. Oh, yes...she is on the design team for Hanna Stamps along with Scor-Pal so her blog is a must see. I also have a link in my side bar if you ever need it!
And lastly but certainly not least is another I Want It All Hanna . This one is signed by JoAnn but I can't find anything else about her so I hope that she sees this post someday and knows that I love her card!

I have to share with you something that Kyler told me today. In the state of Washington we have something called the WASL (Washington Assessment of Student Learning) . It is a big, huge test and in fact, in high school you have to pass it in order to graduate (DO NOT get me started on that though!). Anyway, 4th graders also have to take it to see not only where they are at in their learning but also how the school is doing teaching them. Kyler and his clownies ( a term of endearment at our house) will be taking part of the test later this month. During the WASL parents volunteer to bring snack that week so the kids have something (it is an entire morning of testing M-Th) and I volunteered to bring cheese and crackers for the class. When discussing this with Kyler this morning he told me that his classmates were hoping that I'd bring pickles because they always want one of Kyler's when he brings them for snack. How funny is that? Pickles. So, I'll do both...cheese/cracker and pickles. Pickles...that just tickled my funny bone! Pickle

Speaking of Kyler...they have changed the appointment for his root canals from Tuesday morning to Monday morning. He was so excited about the change because that should mean that he will be feeling well enough to go to his birthday breakfast with grandma Nancy and papa Al on Wednesday. It is all about the stomach you know! Eat 2

I hope you all have a super fantastic Saturday and get lots of stamping done!

A Hanna Swap

Remember awhile back when I showed you the card I made for the Hanna Stamps swap on SCS? Well, I got the cards back and they are absolutely adorable! I will post a couple everyday over the next couple of days. I must say I've gotten into some great swaps recently 'cuz I haven't been disappointed at all with the quality. Love that!
So, this first card was made by Karen (Lazorkay on SCS). Is that grass paper just so cute? Karen's coloring is lots of fun on this one too!
This card is by Rachelle (3frog-mom) and is just adorable! I just love how realistic she made Riley with his bike on the road. And, the arrow brad thingy (so technical...I know) is just so cute!

I am just so thrilled that today is Friday! Not really because I have lots of things planned today but more because the weekend is in sight...yay! Today, though, Kyler has a taste of Washington planned for the entire 4th grade. They will each be bringing in something that was made with a Washington product and sharing it with the other 4th graders. Being that it is Friday (which is lunch buddies which means I take him out to lunch) I'm going to put chicken nuggets and fries in the oven at home and we'll eat here. After he is done eating we'll put together the dip he is taking...separate it into 10-12 servings (as asked for)...and then he can take it back with him after it is all done. Starbucks was very nice to give me some of their little plastic sample cups so we'll put the dip in there and then at school he'll put in some of those club cracker stick thingies (another technical term) and that is how it will be presented. Pretty neato, huh? Eat

So, that is it for today! I hope you all have a super fantastic Friday!

Gettin' Physical

Here is a card with one of my new Hanna sets, Getting Physical Hanna. Isn't she the cutest thing? I don't talk about it much on my blog but I exercise 4/5 out 0f 7 days a week. I'm trying to loose a little weight right now but I'm also liking food right now so it is just kinda balancing itself out. What you see Hanna wearing is something very similar to what I wear...funny how that works and it looks like she is about to do some shoulder work just like me! Funny, huh? I've actually made this card for a friend so I can't wait to get it in the mail! HERE is the recipe. I'm not sure where I got the layout from but I'm sure it is from somewhere.

On a personal note I started a new Bible study with some ladies at my church last night and it is wonderful! I just love it! To those of you who are following long with Rachel Olsen's blog reading about the women of the Bible...what did you think about Potiphar's wife? My goodness...it will be interesting to read what everyone thinks of her actions, huh? It all sets the wheel in motion for Joseph's rise to "power" and his ability to save thousands of people though but sheesh...what deceit!

Anyway, I hope you all have a wonderful day today!

This is it!

Remember that Hanna card from the other day? Well...as much as I liked it a tent topper card kept coming up in my head as another type of card to try. So...I sat down to create and this is what I came up with. I love this card! I think all the accents from the little gems to the little bit of glitter is just perfect! Oh, and it smells lovely with some Misbehavin' Sista's card scent on it! You can click on it to make it a little bigger.

I am sure that some of you are wondering what the card scents are. Well, it is a brand new company that sells these little jars (that look like nail polish bottles) of specially formulated scent made just for card stock. All you do is take a little of the scent on the brush and lightly slide it along the edges of the card stock. Use more for a stronger scent and less for a more subtle effect. It really is quite a fun effect for the card and it is Todd approved...he thinks they are pretty cool too! You can also check it out HERE. I started off buying three scents...Vanilla (for birthday stuff), Misbehavin' Sista's (for stuff like this) and Fresh Linen ('cuz I love this kind of scent) and I can already see that I'll be collecting more!

Just so you know...I'll not be posting to my blog over the next few days as we take some time to go to Triple Play/Raptor Reef with Kyler. Scott will be home to work and take care of the dogs so we won't have to worry about that. I'll be staying busy so that I don't start to get anxious about Jon being gone. I did that yesterday in the shower...starting thinking about all the things that could go wrong but I prayed about it and felt better right away.

I hope you all have a peaceful Sunday and I'll "see" you in a couple of days!

Hanna's back!

I signed up to be part of a small swap of Hanna cards and I started working on it yesterday. I have to say that while I like this card...I think I could do better and I'll try it again today. Isn't she cute though? I just love the sentiment...You lead, I'll follow...to the mall we go! Okay, maybe just Costco for me, but still...you get the idea!

I think I'm going to have some exciting news for my US friends soon! I can't tell you what quite yet but I really think that some of you will be quite thrilled with what my friend, Katie, is planning!

So, it is a short post day but I spent way more time in my e-mail than I had wanted sooooo....

Have a very blessed day and lets all try and do something nice for someone today!

A New Hanna In Town

I got my new Hanna Stamps set, Domestic Goddess, in the mail last week and I just had to make a card with her. I've actually used a layout from the Bella sketch challenge this week but I thought it was a great layout. 'Spose I should go back and do it with a Bella now, huh? The circle paper is the back side of a really cute paper I got last week that has polka dots and dragon flies. I wanted to use the other size but it didn't look as nice as this side does. I love the splash of black with the ribbon. And is that sentiment not funny? It is part of the Things Hanna Would Say set. All the sayings (28 of them!) in that set fit into the Word Window punch by SU! So convenient!

So, today is the first time to use a little bit smaller picture on my blog. Please let me know if you think it is too small so I can adjust according to your needs. I finally figured out how to make my picture bigger in Adobe Photoshop Elements after I've cropped it so that I can see where the watermark is going. Silly little thing but it was bugging me! LOL!

So...this card goes out today to a Glory from Lorie winner that I've been behind in getting her loot out! Speaking of winners...four people guessed correctly on the heart tins. The correct order is...Lion, Kyler...Boxers, Jon...and Mailbox, Scott. So...the winner is...Jennifer K! Can I get a woohoo?! I already have Jennifer's address so I'll get something out to you this week!

I hope you all have a terrific Tuesday!

Smile!

Smile! Saycheeseabella is all set to take your picture! When Em (the queen Bella) revealed this bella some time ago I knew I had to have it. I love to take pictures...even though I'm not that good at it most of the time. Isn't this an interesting color combination? This color combo (the Purely Pomegranate and Pale Plum) is on the list of color combinations that SU! supplied us with for the 07/08 In Colors. For some reason I didn't order the sentiment that goes with this Bella so I used my PTI Paper Trey set and came up with this sentiment. I used my Pearl Baubles in the corners of the Pale Plum card stock and my Mega and Giga circle punches for my Bella image. The Pale Plum patterned paper came from a pack of Adhesive Mats that I got from Target. Really...this entire pack of 40 mats in 5 patterns has adhesive on the back side! Best part is that the pack was under $5.00! Very cool!

Was anyone else at the PJ party last night on the Bella forum at SCS? I was there! It is always interesting to try and participate in those things as most of the time the threads move very quickly and it is hard to keep up. The thing I like the most...besides the new stamps that were revealed...is that 3 challenges where put up during this partay! There is a color challenge, sketch challenge, and an inspiration challenge. You can go HERE to get to the forum and then just look for the challenges. If you decide to take part in them you have until Sunday to post them to the thread and you may just WIN some of the new stamps that were released last night! Please link me to them through the comments section here so I can see too!

AND, not to mix up stamp companies but guess who else released their new stamps last night? Yep, that is right...Hanna Stamps! Kristi released the new set called Domestic Goddess for purchase. It is absolutely adorable! I love the saying with this set. It is "A clean house is the sign of a lazy stamper." How funny is that? She also released some of her Riley Moose stamps which are so cute too! Coffee Riley is my favorite followed closely by Plane Riley. She has Riley both mounted on wood and unmounted so perfect for everyone! HERE is Hanna Stamps SCS forum. Kristi just had her birthday last Friday and she had a fun birthday party! There were some challenges there too that you can try.

Okay, so...have I given you enough things to click on and go see today? Can you tell I love these stamp companies? Grin 5

I hope you all have a great Thursday!

Hanna is back!

I think I told you a couple of days ago that I was going to be getting a new Hanna Stamps set soon. Well, she arrived and she is looking fine! I just so love these stamps. The latest set is called Sweet Celebrations because it can be used for so many things. It looks like a Valentine set at first glance but with the teddy bear (baby), champagne glasses (birthday, anniversary, promotion), and roses (again birthday, anniversary) you can really make just about any type of card with this set! Also, different this time is the fact that Hanna has short hair. While I love her long hair in the other sets I think this short hair is VERY cute and VERY chic!

I got the designer paper and the i love you ribbon at my "local" craft warehouse while shopping yesterday. The dress is paper pieced with Soft Sky card stock and then I used my Clear Spica Glitter Pen on it to give it lots of shimmer. The "you're invited" is from my PaperTrey set and the lips are in the Sweet Celebrations set as wel Oh, and the lips are all sparkly too! I have to say that these stamps are some of the best clear stamps that I use. They ink up really well and give a great crisp, clear image. And, the fact that the entire set (14 pieces) is only $15.50 isn't too shabby either!

I hope you like Miss Hanna today and that you have a super fantastic Friday!

A New Hanna Set!

Did you know that there is a new Hanna set out? Yep, Kristi releases a new set on the 15th of each month and this months set is called Perfect Present and it just has a ton of great images! I made this card with some of the new Bali Breeze designer paper from SU!. It is very basic and simple 'cuz it was for Todd. There is a story behind that bow but I think I'll not get into it here on my blog!

The other thing I keep forgetting to show you (although I'm sure you've seen it already) is the cover of the Spring/Summer Collection 2008 catalog. I LOVE the colors that they used for this catalog and the layout is wonderful! I can't say that I have a favorite stamp set as of yet but I do love the Designer Papers, Simply Scrappin' Kits, and the accessories. There is some fun looking glitter combinations in there, too! I definitely see one or two hostess sets that I'd like to own too! If you need a copy of the catalog just let me know!

Have a great Saturday everyone!

Merry Little Christmas

Awww...isn't she cute? I just love this Hanna card that I made for my step-daughter last night. Lots of fun stuff went into this card...Basic Grey Figgy Pudding card stock, watercoloring, Stickles, Fun Flock (she must have a cashmere sweater!), ribbon, and of course some chicken pox on the tree. Seriously...I totally did the little ornaments to close together and too many and I think it looks like chicken pox! I still think it is a cute card! Oh, and I totally wish I had Hanna's hair...it is gorgeous!!!

Looks like the Wishlist/Receipt Holder is leading the way in the requests for a tutorial with the Coaster Calendars in 2nd place so far. You have 2 more days to vote if you haven't yet.

Have a great Thursday!
