Conversation Hearts Only Bigger

Happy Friday! Who is happy to be at the end of the week? ME! I am back today with a paper craft and maybe tomorrow (but probably Monday)I'll have a card for ya.
Well, I made these little containers for Todd and Kyler for Valentine's Day.  I totally messed up the lettering on the yellow one.  Good thing that what matters is what is inside huh?  I cut these boxes with my Cricut and then just assembled them.  Cute and easy project for sure!  Now, I'm trying to decide if I'll make a little something for Scott and his fiance.  I probably will...just gotta find something.

This is a short post for you today.  I hope you have a great weekend!  Maybe I'll see ya tomorrow!

Thought of the day:  A happy marriage is the union of two good forgivers.

Lovely box with bow...

Good morning all! Did you all have an amazing Christmas? Ours was very nice indeed. It was a wonderfully relaxing hang out day with Kyler, Scott and Ashley. Photos to come I promise! In the meantime here is a couple of photos of a box I made for the family that did child care at the church on Christmas Day. It was incredibly nice of them and I just wanted to show my appreciation.
This first photo is just of the box with bow closed.  It is a fabulous SVG file from SVG Cuts and it was FREE!!  It looks like it is still free so if you can cut SVG's with your cutting machine go grab the kit now!  The patterned paper I used is from Stampin' Up! a year or two ago.  I thought it was nice but not over the top Christmasy.
I just loaded the inside with peanut butter cups, kisses and some tootsie rolls.  On the top (not shown in the photo) I added some coupons for ice cream cones from a local favorite place.  They fit just perfect under the bow on the corner!  The only think I wish I would have done differently was make the bow solid red instead of adding the one layer of opposite paper.  Such is life...it still looks nice!

And finally is a photo of one of my surprise Christmas gifts.  Well, a couple of them at least.  The ring and necklace are ruby and quite substantial which is great as I will wear them for Rigadoon as the only jewelry so I love the bigger size.  So, pretty huh?  My hubby sure does a great job at picking out gifts for me!

Anyway, I will be back again soon...I promise.  Thanks for hanging in there with me!

Thought of the day:  Smile...it confuses people.  :)

Thanksgiving Pie And Appreciation

Happy Thanksgiving friends!  Pumpkin pie is a favorite on Thanksgiving so I had to play on that a little while making some favors for today.  I originally got the idea from here but ended up purchasing an SVG from SVG cuts as I don't cut straight enough to make the hand cut pie work well for me.  I did, however, use the whipped cream template from her.
Just a single piece of pie for your viewing pleasure.
And here are how the treats go in.
Heeeyyy...who stole the first piece of pie?  Actually I ran out of pumpkin pie cardstock so I couldn't finish the entire pie.  So disappointing but I still love it!

I am sending Thanksgiving wishes with gratitude and appreciation to all of my blog readers!  Have an amazing day!  Please think about our military members that are serving away from their family today and throughout this entire holiday season.  Love you all!

Make sure you stop by tomorrow for a little Black Friday challenge I'm going to host for you all!

Monkey Birthday

Happy Saturday everyone! I love Saturday (especially when the sun is out!) but today I love it even more. We are going to a birthday party today for our friend's little guys 1st birthday. It will be cute I'm sure!

So Wren, the birthday boy, is quite the monkey (in fact mom is making monkey cupcakes for today) so I thought I'd continue the theme with my card and bag for his gift.

I found the image on the card when I was blog surfing the other day. I knew right away I would use it for Wren's birthday card so I purchased it, down loaded it and then colored it up to make this card! The layout is from Limelight Papercrafts challenge for this weekend but also fits the Totally Papercrafts challenge of One For The Boys and Stamp Somethings Digi Day challenge.

Then I decided I would use the green bag that has been sitting on my desk for awhile but couldn't just leave it plain. I had just downloaded a monkey SVG from SVG Cuts a couple of days ago and knew it would be perfect so I cut that along with 'happy birthday' and just threw the bag together. It is perfect for the gifts we got for him...a pair of shoes (he doesn't care for shoes but mom wants him to start getting used to them) and a cup that goes in the freezer and then keeps the liquid super cold...a frosty mug like dads. Fun stuff shopping for a 1 year old!

So, that is all I have for you today. I hope you have a super wonderful weekend!

Thank You

I don't know about you but I do love me some coffee in the morning! I can't believe it is Wednesday already this week! I love it when the week goes by quickly!

Today's card is just a quick 'thank you' card that I put together awhile back. I used an svg file from SVG Cuts and a little patterned paper that I had laying out. While I thought I'd really like this style of card I found that when the 'thank you' is cut out if you don't put something behind it there is very little room to write inside the card, hence the patterned paper behind the sentiment. I've already given this one away but I believe I added an additional strip of paper inside as well on the bottom to match what would be seen on the top.

Well, that is about it for me for today. It has snowed quite a bit overnight and is still snowing this morning so it will make getting to the school so much fun today (said with lots of doubt). I hope you have a super wonderful Wednesday! See you tomorrow for a McMahon 5 Designs post! Smiley from millan.net

Fun Gift Card Holders!

Happy Friday! I'm so glad we are at the weekend! It seems like there has been something going on everyday this week and whether it was a big something or a little something it was in the middle of the day. We don't have anything planned tomorrow so it will be a day full of crafting. Yay!

Today I thought I'd show you some super cute gift card holders that I threw together last night. SVG Cuts has a wonderful new freebie (when you purchase $9.98 in SVG files from them which is easy to do as they have great SVG files!) called Give a Gift Card SVG Kit. There are 20 different types of holders and all are super cool! As you can see I used the Gingerbread Man shape and the Playstation Controller shape but I thought it could be an XBox controller too, right? There is an iPhone/iPod holder as well that I should have used for the iTunes cards but I had already cut this the controller so I let it be. I just know that these are going to be a big hit and that is SO exciting! Go check them out if you have SCAL or MTC and a Cricut!

I have excellent news about both Scott and Jon. Scott said his interview went well and that he would hear back from them in a couple of days. I hope it isn't too long. I know how hard it can be to wait on news like that! And Jon talked with the orthopedic surgeon yesterday and he will not have to have surgery! The finger tips are crushed but they will heal naturally. He has new splints for them and goes back in 3 weeks but YAY! Thank you all for praying for my boys and family a lot over the last couple of months!

Alright, I'm off to officially start my day. I hope you have a wonderful Friday! Smiley from millan.net

Happy Fall

Morning everyone! T-9 minutes til Kyler gets up for his first day of 7th grade! So exciting! Todd is making him breakfast and I'm going to pack his lunch, both things he usually does for himself but it is the first day of school!

So...to make this quick. This pumpkin shaped card was made, again, with my Cricut and an SVG from SVG Cuts. I basically CASED the sample but I would have done it this way anyway, so not really. Did that make any sense? Ah, well! Anyway, there are five basic parts of the card. The pumpkin card base was cut with Pumpkin Pie cardstock, the outside of the pumpkin with some patterned paper I have had in my stash forevah plus a piece of Pumpkin Pie CS (the two pieces, patterned and solid, are two different pieces that I could cut at the same time), the stem is just Close to Cocoa with some lines drawn and then the inside, the leaves are some that, again, I've had forevah, and then the inside is a separate cut file and is cut in Close to Cocoa as well. I also used a fall Cuttlebug folder for the outside piece. I did some sponging and tahdah...I was done. I will say the inside is not quite perfect yet but I'm getting there. Also, the inside doesn't stand up as well in the picture because I had to set the pumpkin down instead of holding it open.

So, there you have it! I just love this card and will probably make more of these in their fall pop up line. Is there anyone that reads my blog that might be interested in a swap that would include using their Cricut? Let me know!

It is now T-2 minutes til Kyler gets up so I should run so I can great him! Have a super Thursday everyone! See ya tomorrow with, what I think is, a super cute Halloween card!
