New stamps....lots of fun!

I know...I know...it's been forever since I've been here.  I've missed blogging but have wanted to use my time in different ways over the last few months.  I've also missed being in my craft room and with a new job (only one job now, yay!) that is a bit more flexible I think I will be able to be crafty more often...woot!  Now, onto my creation for today...

For this card I dipped into my new Stampin' Up! goodies from the 2018 Occasions catalog (like what you see and would like to order?  let me know!).  The stamps I used on the outside of the card are from the new stamp set Magical Day...isn't it fabulous?  The other images in the set are just as good...check it out here!  I used the new SU! Stampin' Blends, SU!'s alcohol markers, and I LOVE them...yes, LOVE them.  They are super easy to work with, blend beautifully, and come in colors to totally match all of Stampin'Up!'s cardstocks and inks, yay!   The designer series paper is called Myths & Magic and as you can see it is super fun!

The outside of the card is the theme it is as the person I'm giving this card too loves Harry Potter and I figure this is a pretty good representation of that.  Inside though, is the reason for the card...a milestone that my coworker and her husband are hitting that is worth celebrating!  The stamps I used for the inside are from the Picture Perfect Birthday set.  So fun, right?

I hope you've had a great week!  I'm going to try and be in my crafty room this weekend so maybe I'll have more to share soon!

A Cup of Christmas Cheer

Good morning friends!  It's been just over a week since I was here last but that is much better than months in between posts, right?  I mentioned in my last post that I have signed up with SU! so you'd see more SU! projects on the blog and today is the first all SU! card in quite some time.  I hope you enjoy!
This is fun because it is all, yet to be released, new product from the Holiday catalog...well, almost all new product.  I've used the dies from the Coffee Cafe' Photopolymer Bundle as well as the little heart stamp.  New is the Designer Paper, tinsel ribbon, and the sentiment stamps!!  Eek, isn't it all fun and so cute?

Have you started your Christmas cards yet?  Do you do all one type of card or do you all different types of cards to send out?  Have a great day all!

Thanks for all your help!

Good Saturday morning friends!  I know...it has been over a month since I was here last...just where does the time go.  Well, no matter, I'm here now so I'll just show you what I made!
So, in the last month I've gotten a new job.  I've taken the Children's Ministry Director at New Life Kittitas so my days this last week were filled with kids, music, and fun!  Until the beginning of September I'm just 'shadowing' the person who is currently in the position to see how they 'do' their ministry.  Of course I had to make some thank yous for the adults and youth that helped out!  The adults thank yous are a take off of an idea that my Stampin' Up! upline share on her blog the other day.  Instead of coffee I've used Starbucks Refreshers because it has been in the upper 90's low 100's the entire week.  I just used some paper I had in my stash and a Jaded Blossom sentiment and threw these together Thursday night for presentation on Friday.  I will say we added a Starbucks gift card to the back to make it even more fun!
The bags above and below were for the youth helpers.  I didn't want to put too much work into them simply because kids don't appreciate them quite as much as adults do.  I did fill the bags with a ton of candy and they got a Starbucks card as well.  Again, the stamps are from Jaded Blossom and the bags are some I've had in my stash forever and are from SU!
I'm not sure if you caught it or not but I am a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and will be soon adding a button you can use to hop on over to my SU! store.  I would appreciate your support and will be sending something fun to each person that orders in my first 60 days as a demo!

Thanks for stopping in!  I'll be back soon-ish with some more to share before my son's wedding on the 26th of this month then, hopefully, I'll be back even stronger (posting more often) in September!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Almost Birthday Time!

We are quickly approaching my grandson's 3rd birthday so I've been doing a little creating.  A few days ago I saw the We R Memory Keepers pinwheel board on Amazon and I thought they would be fun to make for the grandkids to play with so yesterday I made some pinwheels for the grandkids and their cousins. Check 'em out!

All the pinwheel are 10" and made with two sheets of 8"x8" patterned papers that I've had in my craft room for quite some time...apparently they were waiting just for this time! And what is fun about these pinwheel is when you get the pinwheel attachments they are actually functioning pinwheels...so fun!

Well, there you have it for today!  I hope you have a wonderful last day of your weekend!

Happy Brithday Emily!

Happy Friday!  Woohoo...we made it through another week!  A friend of mine is turning 10 on Monday so, of course, I had to make her a card.  After discussing with her mom what her favorite activities are I settled on using a uber cute Stamp Anniething image.  Check it out:
The layout is the current Sketch Saturday layout.  I really love this one too and may use it more.  The papers are from SU! and the sentiment is from Jaded Blossom.  Since I won't be able to see her on her actual birthday we all had lunch today and my friend really loved the card (and the gift card for froyo inside, too) and it totally looks like her.  She laughed when I told her the 'pants' are LuLaRoe leggins and a skirt...lol!  She LOVES LLR!

Well, there you have it!  I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

It's their anniversary!

Happy Thursday Friends!  I'm back today to show you the (if I say so myself) AWESOME Anniversary card I made for my oldest son and his wife for their 4th wedding anniversary today.  This took me several hours to do but I think it is SO worth it!
To start off the outside looks like a regular card.  I used a SU! sentiment stamp with MME Paper called Union Square (it's a couple of years old), I added a fun wooden arrow to point out the most important thing in marriage..love big!  The hearts are just punched out of some more of the MME paper.  On the front I've used the I {heart} Sketches summer sketch.
Now when you open it is when you start seeing there is something different about this beauty.  Though you cannot tell in the above photo the four different pieces of cardstock are actually four panels.  I didn't add any extra journalling or sentiment on these panels as I like them as is.  Everything is sponged with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.
And finally when you pull those panels or coupons to the right you see the entire inside of the card.  On the left hand side is a place to write a note to my son and DIL and above a photo from their wedding as a reminder of the day and on the right hand side are the coupons.  I used Jaded Blossom's Alphabet Dies for the larger words.  I think you can see what they each say but I'll break it down for ya...

#happy
dinner at Pasta Company (a restaurant in town)
4 hours of childcare
and the last one is a stamp that says 'once in a lifetime you meet someone who changes everything

Yes, this does fit into a regular envelope, snugly, but it fits and I don't have to mail it so I'm good with that!  I found the tutorial for this on Splitcoaststampers...it is called a Coupon Card.  The only problem with this card?  Exactly how am I going to beat it next year?  Actually...I already have an idea!  :)

I'm going to enter this in the following challenges:

Craft Your Passion:  Anything Goes
Crafting When I Can Challenge:  Any Occasion
Jo's Scrap Shack:  Anything Goes
Brown Sugar Challenge Blog:  Anything Goes

And that is it for today!  Have a wonderful day friends!

Light the candles.

Happy Tuesday friends!  Wow, did last week go quickly!  I'm working on several projects for different things so it seems like my weeks are just flying by!

I know you are here today to see a fun Great Impressions Stamps post though so lets get to it!
This silly little kitty is hiding behind the door because she is afraid of the number of candles that are being lit...lol!  I decided to go with a super clean and simple layout using SU! papers, copics, and the following Great Impressions Stamps:  Freak Me Out! (just part of the sentiment), Freaked Out Cat (front), and It's Your Birthday.  I didn't really do much with the inside so I could personalize it when giving.

Well, that is what I have to share today. THANK YOU so much for stopping by to take a peek at my card! I also would love for you to come and join our monthly challenge! If you use a stamp from the Great Impressions online store, please link it up in our Customer Gallery, too! Until next time, HUGS and happy stamping, friends! :)

PDE Linky Party Day!

Hello friends!  It's FRIDAY and it is a PDE Linky Party Day on my blog!  Once a month I get to choose a project to share with you for the linky party and I like those projects to be fun and something I don't normally do.  Without further ado...my project!

To make these little note cards I used four 4x6 Project Life Cards (they come already scored for folding).  I used the SU! set Words of Truth for the sentiments on each of the cards.  Due to the fact that the stamp set was a rubber set I used my stamp-a-ma-jig to place the sentiments on each card.  A little more time consuming then I had originally thought but worth the effort!  These notecards are to give to my son or husband as little love notes but a little more 'manly'.  :)

Well, there you have it!  I hope you'll head over to the PDE Linky Party blog to check out what the design team made as well as enter your own project in the challenge!

Forever Yours

It's Tuesday...that means we've shaken off the dreaded Monday and are onto the fun of the week, right?  Excellent!  How about I share with you another card I made with some fabulous Great Impressions Stamps?  Okay...
I've made another Valentine's Day card using the following stamps:  E859S Forever Yours,A54S Hearts & Dots, and A78S Hugs & Kisses.  For this card I used papers from Jillibean Soup/Dutch Mustard Soup (which I've had forever), the main panel/wave panel is cut with a frame from Craftin' Desert Divas, and the heart is from SU!.  I also used Illuminate smooch on each of the solid hearts on the top layer of the card.  I LOVE the new to me Forever Yours stamp as it is exactly how I feel about my hubby!
Inside is just a little bit of patterned paper that was left from the main panel and plenty of room to write a sappy message.  *wink, wink*

I would love for you to come and join our monthly challenge.  If you use a stamp from the Great Impressions online store, please link it up in our Customer Gallery, too!

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Sketch Saturday - Sketch
Cut It Up:  Use a heart
Aud Senitments Challenge Blog:  Anything goes and a sentiment

Birthday Rose

Good morning and welcome to my stop at the PDE Linky Party!  Today I'm sharing with you a card that I made for my friend Eva.  This one was truly a challenge for me as I don't normally color images that are this large but I have to tell you that I LOVE how it turned out!  Clean, simple, and just downright pretty!
The rose image is from the SU! set called Rose Wonder and the sentiment is from Jaded Blossom's So Many Birthday's 2 set.  I added some crystals and then used a glitter pen on the flowers and rose itself just for some shimmer.

Our challenges at PDE Linky Party are always anything goes so I hope you'll hop on over, follow us, and participate in the challenges!

More Handmade Christmas Gifts

Good morning!  I'm still working on showing some of the fun gifts I made for Christmas and am excited to show you the cups I made for the fabulous friends I volunteer with at Care Net.  The cups I bought at a group here on Facebook and the tags I made with a SU! tag kit - - I especially love the tags with the jingle bells!
I wish I had taken better photos but each cup (yes, they are those cute wine glass cups) has a name on it, some candy inside and a pretty tag on the outside.  I added the straws because I had them and I thought they were an adorable addition!

Gobble, Gobble!

Don't you just love love it when you make a mistake and it actually turns out to be a good thing?  Well, I was working on some table settings for my Thanksgiving table and I made my turkeys too small so I had to start over and I thought...hmm...wonder if I could make these into some super cute Thanksgiving cards to send out?  Guess what?  I did!  And it only took me two hours to make all four cards!  Check 'em out!

So a little explanation of what I did and used.  First, the turkeys are a print and cut that I got from the Silhouette store (they are on sale right now!) that I cut on my Cameo (side note...I love how easy print and cut is, I think I'll be using it more often!).  The sentiment images is from Jaded Blossom's Holiday Treat Tags and is stamped on and then layered with the Treat Tag Die, again from Jaded Blossom.  With all this Jaded Blossom being used I'm going to enter these cards in their monthly challenge which is Thanksgiving this month.  I also got this super cute paper from Jaded Blossom which is by Doodlebug Designs and is called fall friends.  The twine is Trendy Twine's Spiced Pumpkin and the cardstock is from SU!

Now on the inside of all the cards I just put a piece of cardstock to write on and the pumpkin 'tape' from Autumn Designer Tapes from...yep, Jaded Blossom.  Almost all edges are inked with complimentary colors to the papers.  Also, these cards are 4 ¼" x 4 ¼" as I thought the images would look best on that size card.

See?  A happy mistake!  Love it!

Be cheeky and wild and wonderful!

Well Hello there friends!!  I know it has been awhile since I was last here.  It gets discouraging not having visitors to my blog BUT if I'm going to get any visitors at all then I actually have to post so...I'm making it a priority again starting today!!  Yay!

Kraftin' Kimmie had a Koffee Krop this weekend that, of course, I didn't get to attend because it was in Canada but I did follow along on their Facebook group and it was really a lot of fun!  I decided to play along with one of the challenges they have, paper piecing.  I've always really love paper piecing and the fact that it makes it so I don't have to color as much..lol!  Here is my card made with one of the fabby images from Book Pals!
Ack!  Isn't she just adorable and oh so fun!  I've made this one as a birthday card for my SIL.  This image (which I believe is to be like Pippylongstocking) reminds me of me in my childhood...long hair and freckles...and super happy!  The papers are from Stampin' Up! and the dimensional banner die from Jaded Blossom.  I love every single thing about this card.  It makes me happy just looking at it and because of that I'm entering it in the paper piecing challenge at Kraftin' Kimmie's blog. By the way KKS has a sale every Friday of a select number of stamps that Kimmie chooses herself.  They are always between 20-50% off so they are a great deal.  Do remember the prices are in Canadian dollars so when they convert they are super affordable!!  I just purchased the Halloween Card Kit and I can wait to get it and show you guys!  I also noticed that Craft Your Passion Challenges has an anything goes challenge so I think I'll enter this card there, too!

Well, there it is...my first post of many!!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend and that you'll stop by regularly to see what is going on in my little world!  Oh!  If anyone has great tips for taking wonderful photos of my artwork would you please leave a comment - - I'd like to make them look super nice for you all!

A Simple Sentiment

I finished up the other sympathy card to put in the mail today.  It is a little bit later then I would normally get a card out but at least it is done and in the mail today.  Again, this card was cut with my Silhouette and I purchased the file from the Silhouette Store (#57435) and the little butterflies are a SU! punch that I have.  The papers are old papers from PTI and I thought they would be great due to their subtlety.
I'm hoping to get working on 4th of July cards and some special "envelopes" for my son to take with him while he is gone for a couple of weeks this summer.  More on that in the future!

It's graduation time!!

I don't know about you but we definitely know several people that are graduating high school this year and one college graduation!  Very fun and exciting!  Kyler played drums in the band last night for the high school graduation and came home all excited because even though he has one week left in his junior year he is an honorary senior now...woohoo!  I'm excited for him too...it is a really exciting time in a young persons life!  Now onto showing you a couple of cards that I have made.  I still need to make one more today but I'll share that another day.  Here you go...
The above card is a cut file from the Silhouette store and is really quite large at over 6x6...in the envelope it is huge but I'm not going to mail it so it should be fine! The blue is the school color so that makes it a little more personal. It does have a 5x5 card attached to the back to write in as well.

The above card is for the college graduate.  I have to tell you I adore this card!!  It is a cutie file from KaDoodle Bug Designs (that I actually think I might have gotten for free though it is now just $1).  I found the branch file in the Silhouette store and it came with the flowers and leave so it was pretty much all set for me.  I made this one at 5x5 as several people will be signing it.  This mish mash of paper is from several different manufacturers...SU!, AC Cardstock, and A Muse Studio.  Seriously, this cutie makes me smile!

So, that is it!  Today I will be making another graduation card and a birthday card for sure.  Possibly a Christening card as well..depends on how much time I have.  I hope you all have a beautiful day!

Sending Love - -

Hello!  I'm sorry it's been so long since I've been here butt I'm back!  I've been creating just not sharing a whole bunch.  Sometimes life presents us with unpleasant things like losing a loved one.  The owner of the Jazzercise Fitness Center that I attend lost her mom last week.  I can complete empathize with how she is feeling and what she is going through so I thought I'd make her a card to express my thoughts.  I took out the SU! sets Painted Petals and Love & Sympathy to make the card.  The cardstock is Whisper White and Rose Red (one of my two favorite colors!).

Inside a sympathy card I always write "She (or He) lived and laughed and loved and left.  The world will never be the same."  I know if I had read this on a sympathy card it would have felt very comforted by that.  I also added the sentiment from Love & Sympathy on the inside.  I think together those two sentiments are very nice.
So, while it is difficult to make sympathy cards I know that receiving a heartfelt expression of a person's sympathy can really help the grieving person at a very difficult time so I encourage you to step up and make sure you send these cards.

Sorry for a slightly somber post but really...everyone experiences loss in their lives so it really is okay (and healthy) to talk about it!

It's graduation season...

Do you know anyone who is graduating this year?  I know a couple and one of them has a graduation party today so I got busy yesterday making her card and putting her gift together.  Her gift is, of course, an Origami Owl locket.  Origami Owl makes it so easy to make a special gift for anyone!  Of course you can't just present that gift in any 'ole way so I made a box with my Stampin' Up! Box Board and found a WSU cut file to put on it too...
So, the paper used for this box is Cherry Crisp (which is one of my favorite colors!).  I used a Sweet 'n Sassy stamp set called Congrats Grad for the grad cap here (using it as a tag in case the card and gift get separated) and the stamping inside the card.  I just Googled WSU cut file and found this file so I cut it on my Cricut, added the tag and ribbon on top and Smiley from Millan.Net. I think it looks great!
Next is the card I made for the grad who is our pastor's daughter.  She graduated with her BSN in nursing from the WSU nursing school so, of course, I had to work that in there!  The nurse is made from the SVG Cutting Files shape named Nurse Olivia - Thermometer.  I then just used a card sketch and some paper to make the card.  This particular grad had a hard go of her education due to some health issues of her own so to say her family (and the congregation) is proud of her is an understatement!
Above is the inside with the SNSS image and congrats grad stamping. Below is a side view so you can see the layers.
So now for the honesty side...this box and card set took me most of Saturday morning...not because it was necessarily difficult (though the nurse cut file was difficult to figure out with the layers of hair not clearly defined...I persevered though!) but because I wanted it to be perfect and something she will not soon forget!  Thinking about it now it might have been nice to put a little bling or pearl in a couple of spots (random but not...you know what I mean) on the card...that would have kicked it up a notch or two BUT it is wonderful the way it is too so I'm going to just leave it be!

Smiley from Millan.Net

Now, have a wonderful Sunday and I'll see you soon!
