Beautiful RAK's!

Good morning everyone! As you can tell I ended up not posting yesterday as I was busy going through all of my Stampin' Up! stamp sets cataloging them and getting A LOT of my retired sets ready for sale. I should have that list on my blog here in the next week or so and my local friends get first dibs at them!

Anyway, I wanted to show you a couple of RAK's that I've gotten over the last week or so. I know you are loving the card to the right, huh? This card is from my friend Kris at Ink Something. The image is from Inky Impressions and I just love this image...she is my favorite! I just love this card!

Then the card on the left is from my secret buddy. The swap I'm involved in with this person came about in kind of a different way. I sent a card to someone and she e-mailed me sometime later asking if I wanted to be in her secret buddy swap group. After finding out a little more about the group I said yes. What is neat about this card is that the butterfly has a piece of lavender that my buddy grows at her house. It smells so nice! The white paper is shimmery too so it is so elegant looking!

Then last but certainly not least is a card I got from my Stampin' Addicts Demo Secret Sister. All swaps with this group are to be current Stampin' Up! products. I have been obsessing over this cute set called Cheep Talk and I so want the set. I'm glad I got this card for sure! Old Olive and Certainly Celery card stock's are alway a wonderful combination!

So...there you have it! My fun week of RAK's. Now I have to go post my thank yous where they belong.

Have a super Monday everyone and I'll see ya tomorrow!

birthday swap cards and a WINNER!

Good morning everyone! I know...you are all here to see who won the blogaversary loot, right? Well, I am going to tell you but first you must see the last three birthday swap cards from stamp last week. Mean aren't I?

The cards above and below were made by Stephanie. They are both just so happy and bright! I totally know who the cat card is going to! Great job Steph!
The card below was made by Nicole who, by the way, is a brand new stamper. This is the first card she has made with her own stuff and/or me looking over her shoulder...lol! It is so cute and I think she did a great job!
And finally you get to find out who the winner for the blogaversary loot is. Ready? Okay...here you go...

Good Saturday morning friends! I hope everyone has had a chance to sign up for the blogaversary loot that I'm giving away. If not...just scroll up and you'll see it! I just thought I'd give some kudos to the ladies in my stamp club group and show you the wonderful cards that they made for the birthday swap. Enjoy!

The card above was made by the fabulous Miss Dani. Dani, like all the ladies in my stamp group, is a friend of mine and she just has such a special place in my heart. I {heart} Dani...okay, I {heart} all of my stamp club!
The above card was made by Debby. Do you not LOVE the girl colors and the glitter? How about that wonderful gate fold? Super FUN!
Last for today is Janel's card. Too stinkin cute and wonderful for a guy or girl...yay! That cake just looks delish!

See, I told ya my girls are so talented! You'll see the last set of cards on Monday. Tomorrow is Page Plans day so stay tuned for that! Have a great Saturday everyone!

november birthday card swap

Good morning ladies! How has your week been so far? By a show of comments...who has started (or even finished) their Christmas cards/projects? Yeah...at stamp club last night one of the lovely ladies has hers almost done...no fair! Guess I need to get to work!

I just wanted to show you the super simple card that I made for the birthday card swap we had at stamp club last night. To make the card a little more special I used Shimmery White cardstock for the white base. A Regal Rose cardstock base and ribbon complete the card. The stamp set is a Level 1 hostess set called Live Like You Mean It. Sometimes people have such a hang up with the number of their birthday that they forget to just live like it doesn't matter. Anyway, I hope to be able to show you the other swap cards over the next couple of days...I just need to take the time to photograph them today.

I have been working on a pretty neat Christmas present the last couple of days that I'm almost ready to show you so stay tuned!

So take the day and turn it into something wonderful!

do NOT laugh!

I joined a summer swap for kids. Basically it is making, buying, or whatever a little card to send the kids in the in the swap group. I decided to try and make cards that the kids might really like in this first round and I came up with these Lame cards. Thankfully, the boys that received them didn't think they were lame! I just Googgled Darth Vader and C3P0 then clicked on images to find these two images. The Darth Vader card is 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 and the other card is a smaller note card size. Actually, I kinda think the Darth Vader card is neato with him being popped up on dimensionals and the stars in the background. The red card stock is the new SU! Riding Hood Red. The green and blue on the other card are also the new colors from SU! called Kiwi Kiss and Baja Breeze.

Don't forget that you must comment what fun, anonymous thing you did for someone else since Thursday by 5 p.m. today on --->THIS<---post for a chance to win the note card on the same post. There have really been some neat things you guys have been doing so keep it up!

Have a super Sunday! I'll see ya tomorrow and will announce the thoughtful Thursday winner then!

june recipe swap

For the third consecutive month I participated in Courtney's recipe swap. For the month of June it was breakfast recipes. As soon as she announced it I knew I had to used my mom's breakfast casserole recipe. It is one of my favorites! As a child my mom would make this recipe for special occasions like Christmas, Easter and the like. I do the same but those special occasions include birthday's first and last day of school (except this year...I forgot...shame on me!) and the like. The kids and Todd were literally shocked when they heard I would be sharing the recipe....lol! I am completely sure that there are many versions of this recipe floating around out there so I by no means think this is original.

For the "kiss the cook" circle I used CHF Baked with Love. The designer paper has coffee words all over it as you must have a yummy cup of coffee with this breakfast casserole.

Oh, image swap participants...if you received your images would you please go to the POST and let me know? Thank you!

Alright, well...I have laundry to do and packing so I should run. I hope you all have a Wonderful Wednesday!

the other two

Here are the other two very cute cards from the Kid's Card Swap. These are made by Meredith Socha. I love the back of her card as it has her "stamped by" stamp and then a "for more information" stamp with her e-mail and blog on it. Pretty neato idea. HERE is a link to her blog. I really like what I see so go check it out!

Today we go for an interview to see if we, as a family, will be accepted into the Christian School here in town. Kyler went to school there from K-2 then we pulled him out. We believe that it would be best for him to go back so... since it has been two years that we've been out we have to go through the interview process again. First though, we'll go to the cemetery for their Memorial Day services.

My dad called last night to let me know that my great-uncle Ed has died. It was actually quite the shock. I only know my great-uncle a little but what I remember about him was that he was much fun. My mom just adored him. Please pray for his family.

I hope that you all have a super fantastic day. Take time to think about the freedoms that you have because of the loss of a brave soldier.

first 3 kiddo swap cards

As promised...here are the first three cards I received in the Kid's Card Swap. This swap is probably one of the best I've been in on SCS. The swaps I host here on my blog are always very good but sometimes the quality on SCS is not what is desired...so...here you go! Enjoy them!

The first Passion Pink card is by Sara Phillips. HERE is her gallery on SCS. I have Karen Foster mini stamps that I could use to personalize the little pink strip. So cute this is!

The next card is made with Cowboy Kid. There is no name on the back of the card so I can't tell you who made it but I can tell you that it is a great card! Love the crinkled paper and Close to Cocoa to "age" the paper. And the hemp...adorable!

And finally look at that super cute pig! I'm not sure if you can see it or not but the pig is completely covered in glitter and the pig on the inside is on a scalloped circle. What a fun card! Oh, and no signature on this one either.

I wish people would sign the back of their cards so that I could give proper credit. That doesn't take away how cute they are though!

I had a great time stamping yesterday and got two really fun projects done. One is a sack purse and one is a mini photo book that was the tutorial on SCS this week. I'll link you to it HERE. What have you been doing creatively? I'd love to see if you want to link me to it.

That is it for today! I hope you all have a super relaxing Sunday and I'll see you tomorrow! Don't forget that tomorrow is Memorial Day. Please attend ceremonies at your local cemetery if you can.

goodies from lori

Do you remember a couple of days ago when I told you about my blog candy winnings? Well, I linked you to Lori Barnett's blog called Stamp Scents but I didn't show you the very cute card and card candy she sent with the Gold Canyon goodies.
This card is just adorable! I think I love that "F". I mean really how cute is it with the flower pots and such. And the color combo is one of my favorites! I thought the "f" was from a SU! set but I can't find it in the last two catalogs so if you know the name please let me know.
Lori also sent me these very cute card candies too. I've never made them or received any in the past so it is really neat to see up close what you can do with this idea. Do you see the finished one on the card she sent me? Way cute, huh? I can't wait to make something with these! Again, Lori, thank you so much for the fun blog candy. I just keep enjoying them each time I look at them!

I'm thinking about hosting an image swap and just want to get everyone's feedback on it. It would be a no-vendor require swap so you can use your favorite stamps. I would cap the groups at 10 people each so you would have to stamp and send me 20 images and you'll get 18 back as one set is for me for hosting the swap. Pretty standard stuff. What do you think? If you'd like to join leave me a comment and then I'll make a post just for the swap.

I hope you all have a fantastic Saturday!

Two More Swaps

Here are two more cards that I received in the last swap I participated in. The first card was made by Patty Jones. She used the Cause for Celebration and Celebrate Everything sets. The Gable Green and Rose Red go so well together that I may have to try that color combo. It is so cheery! This one has some of the Fine Cosmo Glitter in the center of the flower, too! Very fun!

The second card was made by Pam Miller. She also used the Celebrate everything set for this card. I love the combination of the the Bali Breeze DP with the Taken with Teal and Apricot Appeal card stock. Don't you love how she died her Twill Tape to match the card? The large Oval and Tag Punch finish off the card with the cute little "friendship" stamp.

Both girls did such a nice job!

I hope your Sunday is laid back yet productive and that you get lots of stamping done! Tomorrow is a day off school for us so I'm thrilled that I get two days this week to sleep in! Asleep 2

Received Swaps

I thought I'd share with you a couple of the swaps that I received through a swap on one of my yahoo groups...SUAngels. The first card was made by Darla Roberts an is made with the set A Beautiful Thing. Her gorgeous color combination of Regal Rose and Apricot Appeal makes this such a happy card! I had never thought of putting those two colors together before but I really like it!

The second card was made by Alice Hartlaub. I wasn't too sure about this set until I received this card. How cute are the big candles? The color combination just screams happy birthday. She used some of SU!'s new chunky glitter on the flame and I'm telling you ladies it is so cool looking in real life!

I hope you guys like these samples as much as I do! Is everyone ready for Valentine's Day? I'm not! I haven't even made Todd's card yet so guess what I'll be doing today? Now to decide which set to use...tough one! Have a great Wednesday!
