Baby, it's cold outside

Good Saturday morning friends!  Welcome to Sweet Stop Saturday!

When I saw today's sketch I knew I was going to enjoy creating for it.  I love when I get to have an image large enough to not make a ton of errors in coloring!  Today's image is from The Stamping Boutique.  I thought the image and the sentiment would be perfect together so I went with it.  I just used some paper MME Signature Christmas pack and paired it with Marina Mist cardstock.  In real life this is super sparkly as there is lots of glitter pen on the snow, hearts, and such.

I will be entering this card is The Stamping Boutique's monthly contest as well as Fun With Shapes, Phindy's Place Challenge, and 4 Crafty Chicks.   I haven't really been entering challenges recently but I thought...why not so I will probably start linking more challenges up.

Alright, here are my design team sisters blogs so make sure you go check them out and give them some love, k?

Please note that since we are moving into December I won't be posting quite as often.  A couple of my design teams are taking a break and when they do I do.  I will still be here just not quite as often.  Also, I plan on getting into digital scrapbooking through MyMemories Suite (see link on the left side bar) so I'll be showing you those pages as well as the cards I make.  I hope you'll enjoy that addition to my craftiness!  And one really neat thing is that I have a very exciting announcement on Dec 1st!

Thought of the day:  Did you know that nothing you do in this life will ever matter, unless it is about loving God and loving the people He has made. ~Francis Chan   In this 'it's all about me' world this can be difficult to hear but Francis is absolutely correct.

Fairy good cake...

Good Monday morning friends! I hope you had a fabulous weekend!

I have just a quick post for ya today showing off a little birthday card that I made last week. I couldn't resist this cute Stamping Boutique image with Cynthia on that birthday cake so I printed it out, colored it up, used Carly's sketch and made a card. The paper and embellishments are from an old SU! scrapbooking kit. Sometimes, I'm amazed at what I keep! The chocolate frosting has glaze on it to make it look like ganache 'cuz yeah....it is yummy!

If you look real close it looks like Cynthia smeared her lipstick when applying but I prefer to think of it as the sprinkles on the cake staining her lips...that works, right?

Thought for the day: What if you woke up today with only the things you thanked God for yesterday?

The Fairies Frolic at Christmas

Happy Friday everyone! I am SO glad it is Friday. How about you? Do you have plans for the weekend? We don't but that will be nice! We are going to try and get our Christmas cards out this weekend. Wish us luck!

The card I'm showing you today is made with a new image from The Stamping Boutique and it is called The Fairies Frolic. When I saw the image I immediately thought that the fairies were getting together for a little Christmas party so I went with the Christmas theme. The patterned paper is from SU! and the little sentiment, while not stamped straight (darn it!) is from Verve Stamps. There are little touches of Illuminate Smooch on each of the little fairies and the main fairy has smooch on her wings and in her hair. Who wouldn't bling it up for a party with friends? Danni's Flutter By Wednesday is an open theme this week so I think I'll enter this in there.

Sorry about the bad picture quality. These winter days have had little sun here. Thankfully I have THE Son in my life so my joy is strong anyway!

Have a wonderful Friday my friends! See you tomorrow! Smiley from millan.net

The Stamping Boutique

PCP The Stamping Boutique Digi Day
With a special guest: Fresh Brewed Designs
Theme: Holiday Sweets
April and her family have started a family tradition of making Christmas cookies each year from scratch with our kids. They sit and look and look over recipes to find some new ones to go along with the ones we use every year. She doesn't like to cook but does love to bake, especially around the holidays and it's such a really really nice treat to give out some homemade goodies in homemade containers and such so that is our theme this month!
You are being given a TSB FREEBIE of a recipe card. My challenge to you (and we will have some prizes for winners) is to decorate and add your favorite holiday sweets recipe to your card and bring it along to share with everyone. Sounds like fun right? I thought so too! ;)

Where: The Stamping Boutique Forum on PCP
When: Dec. 4th 3-5pm
What to Bring: your recipe cards decorated and filled out with your favorite holiday sweet
What to expect: Freebies, new recipes for your holiday baking, fellow crafters to chat with, 4 challenges....yes 4 challenges this month because we have joined up with Fresh Brewed Designs for this digi day and so Heather is going to do 2 challenges (with 2 freebies of her own design during digi day) and then I will be doing 2 challenges (with 2 freebies from TSB during digi day). So you do NOT want to miss this digi day!!!

So Grateful For You

Well, it is the day before Thanksgiving...are you ready to go yet? I have to tell you that when we first moved to Washington I had never made a turkey myself. The kids and I had always gone to a relatives house for Thanksgiving that only necessitated a side dish. While that was nice and easy I have to say that I really enjoy the fulfillment that I get from having made the entire meal myself...okay, not myself, Todd helps (a lot) but you get the idea. This year we are making a turkey breast rather than an entire turkey since it will just be four of us. Smiley from millan.net Should make prep much easier. Today I will write out my schedule of cooking for tomorrow, make my pecan pie, and do a little cleaning. Should be a busy day! OH! And, I get to watch my friends little guy today. He is 10 months old and just adorable. I can't wait!

Alright, enough of my blah, blah, blahing! Today, I have a clean and simple card for you that is based off the CAS sketch card that Lori Tecler did on SCS. I did cut my card into kinda an odd shape so that the circle could come off the side a little without being to large to fit into a regular size envelope. Anyway, the image is another from The Stamping Boutique and it is AJ the Pilgrim. Isn't he just adorable? I just used some Tangerine Tango cardstock for the base, embossed it a bit, added some ribbon and voila! Super easy and conveys a heartfelt message.

Just a little note for you guys...The Stamping Boutique is offering 35% off its images this week so hop on over there to purchase the images you've been wanting!

Alright, that is it! I will be back tomorrow with a Thanksgiving funny so if you have a chance in between all that yummy food stop on back!

Going Grey with Scrap- Creations

Well, it is winter where I live! As I type this (Monday afternoon) it is snowing like crazy and drifting too. I'm also laughing because my little dog is whining and barking like she owns the place 'cuz she wants out of her kennel...I want her to dry off a little first! LOL!

Anyway, today is another edition of Going Grey with Scrap-Creations. Today's challenge is to use blue, white, and silver on our creations. I decided to use a super cute The Stamping Boutique image called Natalie.

Since I didn't really have any patterned paper that would work for this I decided just to emboss it with my snowflake embossing folder, do some layering (the white is Shimmery White) and I thought the icicle edge would be cute, too. I used a sky blue at you Spica pen for glitter as well as a silver fine point painty pen too. As you can tell I also decided to use some Liquid Applique on what I thought the puffy parts of her outfit would be. I love the dimension it gives the card. And, I just remembered that I used a sketch challenge too which is right HERE.

I thought I'd dress up the inside with more shimmery white and snowflakes. Can I just say that I love this card. I can't wait to send it out!

So, hop on over to the DT blogs (as can be found in my sidebar) to check out all the blue, white, and silver goodness then make a card of your own and link it up HERE. This card also works for the Pollycraft Challenge which is feeling blue, the winter theme at Stampin' for the Weekend, use a snowflake at Stampin' B's, snowflakes at 2 Sisters Challenge Blog, snowflakes at Totally Paper Crafts, and snow at Easy Craft Projects.

Have a wonderful day friends!

De Lovely Birthday

Good morning friends! Shield your eyes from this super bright card today or maybe it will brighten your gray, cloudy day?

This is a birthday card that I made for my friend Jen's birthday. I got to take her to lunch yesterday and while the time was too short I enjoyed every moment of chatting with her!

A little about the card. The image is from The Stamping Boutique's Cynthia line and she is called Lazy Cynthia. I figured this is what Jen should do on her birthday...ignore the laundry and maybe read a good book (but I think she will be sewing)! The papers are all from Cosmo Cricket's DeLovely line. And I, of course, used a sketch challenge...this one from the The Sweet Stop challenge blog. While I don't play along there very often I do love their sketches!

Well, I hope this card brightened your day! I'll probably be absent for a few days as I'm off to spend some time with family celebrating my grandpa's life. So glad I can rely on my husband to hold the fort down and take care of everything here!

Rock Star Max

Hello all! How has your week been going? Only one more day 'til Friday...do you have big plans for the weekend?

Today I thought I'd show a fun card made with Max from The Stamping Boutique. I don't know what drew me to this but I've liked it since I saw it the first time and I finally decided I needed to make a card with it. Of course it needed to be very boyish so I pulled out some primary colored patterned paper (SU!) and a fun sentiment and commenced to making this. I thought the stars in the background were a fun addition and play on the sentiment. I tried a new set of colors (new to me) on Max's hair and really like how it came out. Not sure if I did it right but I think it looks good. I just couldn't make this guy goth so I went with light hair.

Anyway, enjoy your day...see you on Sunday for my Sunday Share!

Happy Fall

Morning friends. Can you believe it is almost the end of the week already? Yikes! I've much to do and not much time to do it!

Today I have just a quick post for ya. This cute image is from The Stamping Boutique. You know me...I love a non-scary Halloween image so I had to play with this Scarecrow.

I used the sketch from Sketches by Carly for this week. You can see that HERE. The papers are from Septembers Key Ingredients Kit from Taylored Expression although I bet that she didn't in anyway think that a card like this could be made from those papers as the other side of them are completely different. It is kind of neat though.

And, guess what fun thing TSB has planned for you this weekend? Yep, a digi day. Check out below for all the info!

Sami and her pumpkin

And here we are at Friday...can you believe it? The weeks are just flying by so quickly!

Today's fun card features Sami from The Stamping Boutique. Sami was the super cute image you got for bringing a Frankie card to the digi day on Sept 25th. Isn't she adorable? I did cut her out but the entire image is so cute! The paper is from Cosmo Cricket and I found this layout on the Scrapbook & Cards Today Blog for WCMD and, actually, there are several great sketches there to use. So I'm a little late but the layout is something that can be used again and again! I have to tell you that I had absolutely a blast coloring and shading this image. I think it is the purple and clogs...are they adorable? (I think I said that already!) Although, I do have to say if this were my daughter I'd tell her to cover up her tummy! LOL!

Anyway, today is a busy one for me so I'm off for the day. I hope you have a wonderful one!

Don't forget to check out my blog candy offering at the post below!

Farmer AJ

Good afternoon everyone and Happy Friday! Today is October 1st...can you believe it? Just a few more weeks until we see Jon and just a few more days until my birthday. FUN!

Today I made a fun pumpkin box (the svg is from MFT) and decorated it with AJ the Farmer and some super cute 3-d pumpkins. Since the box was cut with my Cricut this was super simple to make and I love that. Isn't AJ adorable in his overalls and you know he loves frogs!

Not sure what this will be for but when I saw this pumpkin box I knew AJ would be perfect!

Well, I hope you have a wonderful weekend! See you in a couple of days for my Sunday share.

Can't Catch Me

Happy Friday all! I can hardly believe how fast this week has gone! I hope you've accomplished a lot this week.

Today's fun card is with a brand new line from The Stamping Boutique called Candy Land Winter. Obviously this is the gingerbread man image. All I could think of when I saw him was the gingerbread man in the movie Shrek..."you can't catch me" in that squeaky voice. LOL! The gingerbread man with the heard is actually a magnet for your refrigerator (or wherever you want to use it) so it is a little gift built right into the card. Kinda fun, huh? I used a sketch by Carly for this card, too! Tomorrow TSB is hosting a Digi Image Day on Papercraft Planet and would love for you to play along. The info is below. Hope you can join us!

Baby Fairy

Morning all! Wow, it is Wednesday already! Today is Kyler's first day of chapel so we all have to be sure that he remembers chapel clothes today.

I made today's card shortly after I found out that I had made The Stamping Boutiques design team. Isn't that image just adorable? Goodness I love it. Yes, it did have a recipient that it was going to but, unfortunately, that person ended up having a miscarriage. So sad. I tried to make the card so that it could be for a boy or girl. That is harder than it sounds for sure! The paper is just some that I had in my stash and then the center part is a real wide piece of dark brown scalloped type of ribbon with a wrapping of blue satin ribbon (that I had gotten in my thank you bag from Ellen Hutson). I added lots of Smooch to this card and it shimmer and shines so nicely in real life.

I'm working on another fun card for TSB but am just having a little problem with finding just the right embellishment for it. I know what I want to do I just don't think I can find it this time of the year.

I went to the Verizon store yesterday and put my deposit down on a DroidX...that is coming in TODAY so I'll be anxiously awaiting the phone call that it is in. What are your plans today? LOL!

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Patriot Day (and blog candy!)

Morning friends. If you are anything like me when you say or write 9/11 you get a very strange almost deja vu type of experience and for good reason. It is a day that will live in our memories forever, it is a day that has changed almost every aspect of our lives, it is a day to remember the almost 3,000 people that died on 9/11/01 and it is a day to remember our troops that continue to fight the war on terrorism.

In the spirit of this Patriot Day, Operation Write Home is hosting a special blog hop of which, we the members of The Stamping Boutique, are honored to be a part of. We were provided with a couple of different images to work worth and I chose the ribbon image you see. The best part is, this ribbon image is FREE to everyone today! Just go HERE to check it out! At the end of this blog post I will have a link to the next DT members blog so you can see what Marie has done. This blog hop, this entire day is close to my heart. Some of you may know that my middle son, Jon, is currently at Basic Training and I am the wife of a retired Army enlisted man. My eyes always tear up when I think of Sept. 11th and all the men and women who have been deployed to Iraq...my husband included.

Today I want to do a little Random Act of Kindness (blog candy) to thank you for visiting our blog hop and remembering our soldiers (maybe you could fly your American Flag today?). For one visitor that comments on my blog I will have a unmounted stamp that says Live Well, laugh often, Love Much! and an unmounted stamp that says Smile (Both of these stamps are from Elzybels) . In addition to that I will be purchasing one additional winner on my blog with a The Stamping Boutique single digital image of their choice! So that is TWO winners! What do you have to do to win? Well, I'd like you to go to the Operation Write Home main page HERE and tell me the names of the blogs that they write. It is easy to find so don't worry. Once you find them come back here and leave me a comment with the names. Please play nice and don't just copy what everyone else has written! And please only one comment per person. You have until Sunday evening at midnight (PST) to enter and I'll announce the winners on my post on Tuesday.

So...off you go to the Operation Write Home main page! Have a wonderful Saturday and I'll see ya back tomorrow for my Sunday share!

Your next stop on the hop is to Marie...check her out HERE

Spooky Birdhouse

Happy Friday friends! I can't believe how fast this week has gone. Thank you for all your good wishes for Kyler's first day of school. He had a wonderful day and didn't get discouraged at all about the homework on the first day...yay!

I got this image when I became a DT member with The Stamping Boutique. I wasn't real sure when I'd use it but I sat down the other night and made this card. Isn't it fun? Truly this was such a fun image to work with! The bat/lime green paper is from K&Co. I have used lots and lots of sparkle on this card but, unfortunately, you can't see it. I also used another sketch from Sketches By Carly. The name of this sketch is Picnic Blanket and my card couldn't be any further away from a picnic blanket, could it? LOL!

Well, I must scoot! I will be back tomorrow with another card from The Stamping Boutique...it is a special day you know!

See you then!

Audrey + Cupcake = Cute!

Happy Labor Day everyone! I hope you have been enjoying your long weekend (if you get one)! We have been pretty laid back here mostly because Todd works weekends right now but all is good...I don't mind being a home body at all!

I got the chance to use a couple of The Stamping Boutique images over the last couple of days and boy are they CaUTE! This is Audrey With A Cupcake and it makes the cutest birthday card, don't you think? I also used a sketch to make this card with from Sketches By Carly. Carly is the daughter of Kristine at Ink Something 2. Not only does she make super sketches but her cards are super cute, too. The fun part with this sketch is that there is a prize involved for one person who does the sketch so you know you must go check it out!

I've been working on a couple of cards made with my Cricut as well as traditional card making so I'll be showing those to you soon too PLUS tomorrow is the Going Grey Challenge with Scrap-Creations so you'll have to stop back and check that out. Just a hint...my card is all boy!

Alright, I'm off to exercise and do some crafting. Have a super day everyone!

Fun Announcement!

Good Thursday morning everyone! Can you believe the week is winding down already? Wow, how time flies!

I've decided that I can't wait to share with you some fabulous news any longer. Guess who I'll be working with for the next three months? That's right! The Stamping Boutique! It is actually kind of funny because I applied for the DT but didn't think I'd be considered for it so I kind of forgot about it...okay, I filed it away, then I saw the announcement on their blog, got all the information via email and I was SHOCKED and oh, so pleased!

I made a card to show you all with one of their fabulous images but I need to hold off on that one for awhile so I'll be in my stamp room this morning and after Care Net and the fair to whip up a card that features one of their cutest images (I think), Audrey so make sure you stop back tomorrow! In the mean time go ahead and stop over to check out their store, I just know you will love what they have to offer! And be sure to check out all the DT member's blogs...what a talented group they are!
