Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenges: Welcome!

Cowboy Girl

Good morning friends! Here we are at the beginning of a week again. This part of the summer sure is going by fast. Before I know it the kids will be going back to school although we do start late this year...Sept 10th. Crazy, huh?

I want to show you a card that my friend, Nicole, made while she was at my house on Friday. It's her daughter's 2 year birthday coming up soon so she made this cutie card for her scrapbook. I love how Nicole turned the cowboy into a cowgirl...too cute, huh? We used the retired In Colors on this card as that is what she has at home so she can recreate this if she'd like.

I finished up my Holiday Mini swap card last night so I'll be able to show that to you soon. It is made with a super cute set called Pumpkin Patch. I love fall and all that comes with it...sweatshirts, pumpkins, apple cider...fun stuff like that so I went ahead and used something to remind me of fall.

I'll be working at Kyler's school a few days a week for the next few weeks plus my other volunteer work so I may be a little more hit and miss than usual but I'll be sure to keep you up on the new Holiday Mini fun stuff I get to use.

Have a wonderful Monday everyone!

Sister's Challenge

Good morning everyone! I had a great time yesterday with my Bible study sisters. The drive was about an hour and forty minutes to get to the church that was hosting Paul Young (author of The Shack). The talk was wonderful, lunch after wards was wonderful, it was just an all around wonderful day! I got home close to 4 p.m. and got to work on my Sister's Challenge card.

What is this sister's challenge I'm talking about? Well, an online friend of mine and her sister have occasional stamping challenges and because I'm such a nice person (and because I asked...I'm a lame-o I know) they adopted me and said I could join them. Oh, geeze....I haven't told you who the sisters are yet. They are Kristine from Ink Something and Kathy from Winter Creations by Kathy. Kris and Kathy are both incredible people! Kris and I have gotten to know each other over the internet and I would consider her one of my best blogging friends. While the internet can definitely be scary sometimes...sometimes some wonderful relationships come out of it, too!

Anyway, this challenge was to make a tri-shutter card. I just looked at Kris and Kathy's cards and it is funny...they are slightly different then mine. Absolutely wonderful but a slightly different fold. When you check them out...you'll see! For this card I REALLY wanted to the the new set you'll be able to order from the Holiday Mini called Beary Best Friends. It features some awful cute Build a Bear images...that's right, if you haven't already heard SU! is partnering with BABW to bring us fabulous stamps and dies for our Big Shots! WootI am so thrilled about this because even at 11 years old my son still loves BABW and it will be perfect to make cards for my nieces and friends kids. Yay! Anyway, the patterned paper you see is a complimentary Designer Series Paper pack called Pawsitively Prints. Inside you'll see a balloon image that is from the Beary Best Friends and then a couple of sentiments from the birthday set called On Your Birthday. There is a wonderful set of birthday sentiments for the BABW collection but I forgot to put it on my order...can you believe that? Hmmm...maybe that means I need to order again? Money

So, there you have it...my first Sister's Challenge card! I have to say I like the card but if you do try one I would be sure to really plan the panels out ahead of time to save you some assembly time. Let me know if you have any questions on this card.

Have a super Sunday everyone!

So Happy!

Morning everyone! This will be a quick post today as by the time you read this I will be listening to the author of The Shack speak. Obviously that means I'm typing this up Friday night so now you know why this will be short. Smile

I made this card real quick last night for a friend that is newly expecting. I'm just so thrilled for her...she is such a good mommy to her cutie patootie almost two year old daughter! This card combines A Muse Stamps and a SU! Stamp. When I ordered my new release A Muse stamps I also ordered the Pregnant Lady (they must be out of this one...I can't find it for ya) and the Lots of Flowers Background stamp that you see. The sentiment is from the SU! set Nursery Necessities. To offset the very light cardstock I used black cardstock and black gingham ribbon to finish off the card. I'm really pleased with how this came out.

Alright...I must head to bed...I hope you have a wonderful Saturday! I'll be back tomorrow with a Sister's Challenge...although I don't have a sister I've been accepted as a sister for this challenge and I'm SO excited! So, with that...night/have a great day!

No crafting today...

Nothing new in the crafting arena today but I just wanted to share a blog post from the Women to Women blog. The basic premise of the post is...what is the best "candy" you could ever receive? Go HERE to read the whole thing. Once you've done that you can navigate HERE to see what blog candy there is to enter.

Enjoy your two stops today...I know I did!
