Easter Layout
Good morning! I hope you had a great weekend! We had a pretty nice weekend. Monday was Kyler's birthday, too so lots of celebrating!
The sad part about Kyler's birthday is that late morning he developed a fever and it has held on since then. Not sure how things are going today but I know there is no school today for sure and possibly tomorrow. The bad part is...it is only a 3 day school week for them as they had Resurrection Monday off (remember he goes to a private Christian school) and Friday is their teacher planning day for the 4th quarter. I think I will need to get his homework today, not that he is necessarily where he can do it but at least we'll have it at home. A doctor trip may be in order as well today...we shall see.
Okay, this page's layout is the Let's Get Sketchy challenge for this week. It is another great sketch!
Well, you have a great day everyone! See you soon!

Thanksgiving Pie And Appreciation
Happy Thanksgiving friends! Pumpkin pie is a favorite on Thanksgiving so I had to play on that a little while making some favors for today. I originally got the idea from here but ended up purchasing an SVG from SVG cuts as I don't cut straight enough to make the hand cut pie work well for me. I did, however, use the whipped cream template from her.
Make sure you stop by tomorrow for a little Black Friday challenge I'm going to host for you all!
Just a single piece of pie for your viewing pleasure.
And here are how the treats go in.
Heeeyyy...who stole the first piece of pie? Actually I ran out of pumpkin pie cardstock so I couldn't finish the entire pie. So disappointing but I still love it!
I am sending Thanksgiving wishes with gratitude and appreciation to all of my blog readers! Have an amazing day! Please think about our military members that are serving away from their family today and throughout this entire holiday season. Love you all!

Veteran's Day with Sketches By Carly
Happy Friday everyone! And Happy Veteran's Day to all of our Veteran's and active duty military members! You are all appreciated! ***So sorry for the delay in posting...Blogger messed up, I had it scheduled!***Today is a new sketch day with Skeches by Carly. This time we are sponsored by Bugaboo and I have had the pleasure of designing with their image called AKV Army - Flag USA. I gotta tell ya I love this card. The sketch was so much fun to work with and tweak to make the layout work for this fun image and my Veteran's Day theme. I wish I could tell you who made all the fun papers on this card but I honestly do not recall. For this soldiers uniform I Google'd ACU (the name of the type of uniform that Army soldiers wear right now), found a good photo and then printed the pattern on some cardstock. I then ran the ACU'd piece back through my computer to print the soldier image on. I just cut out the helmet and jacket, adhered it to my base image and have somewhat of an authentic soldier for my card! Fun stuff, huh?
I know you want to play along so I've posted the sketch here on my blog so you can get started right away. When ready you can head on over to Sketches by Carly to upload your card to InLinkz. I'm also entering this in the Blogger Challenge Veteran's Day Challenge. I know you guys want to see what the rest of the design team has made so I'll link you up. Be sure to leave them all some love, k?
Please take the time, not just today, but everyday to thank a Veteran. I can pretty much guarantee you that you will make their day!

The Sweet Stop
Good Saturday morning all! I hope you are having a wonderful weekend so far! Last night was nice around here as Todd and I got to go see Courageous and it was great! I highly recommend you go see it! Onto today's The Sweet Stop sketch. If you remember we are doing a flash back month for our sketches so today's sketch is actually sketch #37.
I had this cute MFT stamp out from another try at stamping so I thought...why not, I'll use this image and I made my first (although it could be the 2nd) Christmas card of the year. This is pretty plain and simple but I do think it is cute with the little bit of pouf in the boots and hat.The patterned paper that I used on the card is from MME's 12 Days of Christmas. The ribbon is some I had in my stash from PTI and the rest is pretty self explanatory I think.
Tomorrow is my birthday so between today and tomorrow I hope to get lots of creating done so I can get a bit ahead of things...we shall see!
Now...go visit my DT sisters, k?

Autumn Friends
I'm back! I know...can you believe it?! I'm still struggling with creating but I'm doing it anyway as I do have commitments ya know. With Halloween time coming up I thought I'd use the wonderful set from Clear Dollar Stamps called Autumn Friends. Why do I love this set so much? Well, in this case it is because it comes with some pre-colored, pre-background-ed (not I word I know) 3"x3" treat bag labels! For my sample today I actually sized mine label to 2 3/4" x 2 3/4" and layered it on a piece of the patterned paper that comes in this set as well. Now...this isn't just any sample this is the treat bag our cute little friend, Emily, will get when she comes knocking on our door this year (at least I hope she comes again this year...mom? please?)! To personalize it for Emily I just printed some letters from a digital letter kit I have, punched them out with my 1/2" punch, sponged the edges in her favorite color, purple, and then adhered them with a pop dot. Super easy and super cute!
I hope this fun, quick project will give you inspiration for your favorite trick or treat-ers this year!
Thought of the day: I love it when someone's laugh is funnier than the joke!

Memorial Day 2011
Memorial Day comes each year with good and bad. The good...we get an extra day off work to shop, BBQ, spend time with friends and family. The bad...many military men and women won't get that opportunity today as they gave up their lives so that not only can we enjoy our freedom but to try and bring some sense of peace and saneness into another country/persons life.
Memorial Day 2011
Remember our brothers and sisters who fell
so we could have freedom, they all went through hell
our cookouts and sales are all very nice
but many in uniform paid a great price
defending our country takes more than big talk
you honored us all by taking the walk
our forefathers founded this country we love
and included God both within and above
Our children have fallen all over the earth
because we believed that in all men there’s worth
we’ve come to the aid of the downtrodden man
because independence and choice must and can
be for all people; a God given right
it’s said in our song that our flag was in sight
it stood through the day and the night as we fought
to keep ourselves free; we will never be bought

Armed Forces Day 2011
ARMED FORCES DAY
"UNITED IN STRENGTH"

"UNITED IN STRENGTH"
MAY 21, 2011
President Harry S. Truman led the effort to establish a single holiday for citizens to come together and thank our military members for their patriotic service in support of our country. On August 31, 1949, Secretary of Defense Louis Johnson announced the creation of an Armed Forces Day to replace separate Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force Days. The single-day celebration stemmed from the unification of the Armed Forces under one department -- the Department of Defense.
See more information about Armed Forces Day HERE. If weather permits be sure to get your flag our and flying today!

His Unfailing Presence
Another year I enter
Its history unknown;
Oh, how my feet would tremble
To tread its paths alone!
But I have heard a whisper,
I know I shall be blest;
"My presence shall go with thee,
And I will give thee rest."
What will the New Year bring me?
I may not, must not know;
Will it be love and rapture,
Or loneliness and woe?
Hush! Hush! I hear His whisper;
I surely shall be blest;
"My presence shall go with thee,
And I will give thee rest."

Veterans Day 2010
Veterans Day originated as "Armistice Day" on Nov. 11, 1919, the first anniversary of the end of World War I. Congress passed a resolution in 1926 for an annual observance, and Nov. 11 became a national holiday beginning in 1938. Veterans Day is not to be confused with Memorial Day--a common misunderstanding, according to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Memorial Day (the fourth Monday in May) honors American service members who died in service to their country or as a result of injuries incurred during battle, while Veterans Day pays tribute to all American veterans--living or dead--but especially gives thanks to living veterans who served their country honorably during war or peacetime.You all know I have two favorite soldiers in my life...my husband who is
retired Army after 22 years of service and my son who has just begun his service in the Army.Be sure that
today and everyday when you see a solider, sailor, Marine, or airman that you thank them for their service. Did you know less than 1% of the population of the US volunteers to serve their country? That's right so you know they love their country!Monday, May 31, 2010

Please take a moment to watch this video and pray for the families who have lost their loved ones in service to their country.

Valentine Box
Good morning everyone! How has your week been? This week has just flown by for me! Lots of stuff to do...as usual! I'm thrilled that it is Friday and that I don't really have a bunch of plans for the weekend...yay!I did get a chance to create this fun little Valentine's Day box yesterday for Miss Carol...the leader of the Kid's In Christ group at our church. I used some patterned paper that I had on hand and my new Big Shot XL Bigz Die called Shaker Box. I added a little bit of a window sheet to the i
nside (along with some YUMMY Dove Chocolate Discoveries chocolate inside). I love the ribbon that I used on the outside...so much flair!Today I'll be working on a fabulous (I hope!) card for UDI Sketch Challenge day tomorrow and I have to finish up Todd's Valentine's Day surprises, too. I'm excited to give him everything I've been working on. I'll show you soon...don't worry!
So...have a wonderful Friday! I appreciate you sticking with me through my non-posting times because I LOVE to share with you when I do get crafty!
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13
