A Chocolate Treat For You To Eat

Happy Friday friends!  Today is an exciting day for me as I am posting for the first time as the February Guest Designer for Jaded Blossom!  Woohoo!  Shall we just get right along to the fun project?
I thought it might be fun to make a special gift for my step-daughter for Valentine's Day so I decided to try to do a remake of a pop top can that I saw on my friend, Patti's blog.  The process is actually super simple, just read on...
I went to the store and purchased a pop top can of fruit (that my grandson got to enjoy!) and when I decided to do the decorating I flipped the can over and took the bottom of the can off with a smooth edge can opener.  I then removed the manufacturers paper so I could easily figure out the size of paper I needed to decorate and put on the can then I got to work.  What I decided to start with is the Heart Splatter set.  I used four different stamps from the set in four different colors and just randomly stamped them on my light pink textured cardstock.

After stamping the pink cardstock I attached it to the can with adhesive from my ATG gun and extra doubled sided tape where the ends over lap. Inside my can I added some charms for my step-daughters Origami Owl locket, Hershey's Kisses and Hugs, and a box of TicTac Be Mine mix.
On top (which is actually at the very bottom) I put some tissue paper to make sure things don't move around too much in shipment.  To put the bottom of the can back on I just used some glue around the edge of the bottom and then applied pressure which actually popped that bottom piece back into place though if you are putting something heavy in the can you want to make sure you have plenty of glue to hold it all together.

Finally I added two colors of twine to the top edge of the can and stamped the round sentiment and strawberry from the Chocoholic set then cut it with Jaded Blossom's Scallop Circle Dies.  I colored the strawberry with my Copics and added the fun white chocolate drizzle with a white gel pen.
And there you have it!  What fun it will be for her to open the can and find the fun treats inside!  I wish I could see her face when she does!

I hope you enjoyed this little Valentine's Day treat!  I'm going to enter this into the following challenges:
