3 Clovers Challenge Day!!

Morning all! So...I didn't get a card ready to post yesterday...sorry about that...but, I did craft today and have about 3 different projects to show you over the next couple of days. However, I have not made my Blogger's Challenge card yet. Guess that will come today, huh?

As for this card...today is 3 Clovers Designs Challenge day. Today's challenge is to make a card for a teenager. Why would this card work? 'Cuz it is SO perfect for my teenager. My middle son loves to be outside and is always being goofy so I thought this bear and the look on his face would be perfect. And, the sentiment...that is definitely my boy...actually it is all three of my boys!

Also, this card was made for the Latenight Stampers challenge of the week which is to make a card inspired by your favorite candy bar. Well, I didn't use my favorite candy bar...I used one of Jon's favorites...Snickers. Chocolate Chip, Real Red, Confetti White (so I could watercolor), and Ballet Blue. I even followed the lines of the rectangle that is around the word Snicker on the wrapper.

I know this is very simple but I'm still so excited to give it to him...just so he can remember that we love him!

So...why don't you play along. If you have a teenager...make a card for them. If not...make a card for one of your kids and most importantly...give it to them. They will remember it for years to come!

Holiday Planner Class

I'm excited to offer this class for all of my friends, that like me, like to have their holiday's at least a little planned out! Let me know if you have any questions! (click the photo to see it larger)
This post will stay on top until Nov 4th. You can see the planner you'll be making HERE!
PLEASE SCROLL DOWN TO SEE MY LATEST POST!

Holiday Planner

Good morning all! Just thought I'd share full sized picture of the holiday planner that I am offering a class for on November 14th. See HERE for more info.

For this planner I used Merry Moments Designer Series Paper (only two pieces are needed for coordinating papers), Real Red Cardstock, Chocolate Chip Cardstock, Garden Green Cardstock, and finally Very Vanilla Cardstock. The best part about this planner is that it is purse sized...yep, it is about 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" so it slides easily into your purse for all of your shopping trips. The pages inside include spots for your Christmas card list, thank you lists, wish lists, gifts for neighbors, several spots for receipts (I may try to add a spot for recipes) and a November and December calendar. It is held together with a length of Silver Elastic Cord pulled tight so the pages don't move around it is then tied in a knot.

I have decided if you'd like to purchase a finished Planner from me I'd be happy to put it together for you for $25 plus shipping to your house. Just send me an e-mail and I'll get started for you!

I do believe I'll be taking my planner with me today when Todd and I go shopping so I can start my Christmas card list.

Because Todd and I are headed shopping (which is 45 minutes from us) and because tonight is also the Care Net Fundraising Dessert Buffet I don't think I'm going to get time to craft today. Hopefully, I will see ya back here on Wednesday!

Here is the upcoming holiday countdown for ya...

5 days 'til Halloween
31 days 'til Thanksgiving
59 days 'til Christmas

Blogger's Challenge

It's Friday! My goodness this week has gone quickly but I am still so glad it is Friday!

Welcome, to Blogger's Challenge #122. This week's challenge is to make a no layer card. Interesting, I thought, as I had this same challenge just last week for another group. Anyway, as you can see I went with the same idea as yesterday only executed a different way. This time I made a stencil out of my Ornament Punch by just punching it through a piece of a window sheet. You then just make your ornament by sponging the color in the punched out area. Believe it or not I just stamped one of the trees from Lovely As A Tree a couple of times for the branch. The silver cord is from the Holiday Mini Catalog. Now, the sentiment on the ornaments is from an old set of rub-ons from Stampin' Up! but I don't recall the name of it. My colors for this card are Bravo Burgundy, Apricot Appeal, and Handsome Hunter (yes, you do see some HH where it isn't supposed to be but don't tell anyone!). I was hoping the colors would look a little vintage Christmas. All of the items you see on the card, including the Shimmery White cardstock (yes, again!) can be purchased through my SU! website for which there is a link in my right side column.

I'm hoping to work on making a Holiday Planner today. I'm also hoping I can have it done today so I can show it to you tomorrow so please stop back. I'll leave you with a Psalm and comment...

"For the Lord taketh pleasure in his people." Psalm 144:4 I take pleasure in all of you, my online friends! Aww

3 Clovers Designs Challenge

Happy Thursday morning to everyone! Welcome to 3 Clovers Designs Challenge day. Sorry my post is up a little late!

Today's challenge was my favorite...a sketch. Head on over to Kerry's blog to see the sketch. I've been in a Christmas card making mood so today and tomorrow you'll see Christmas cards. For today's card I used the SU! set called Delightful Decorations for my main image. I really wanted the ornament to stand out so I heat embossed it with Winter White embossing powder and left it on just red cardstock to have it pop even more. The paper is from the Christmas Cocoa Designer Series Paper pack and the sentiment from TeenyTiny Wishes (love that set...I get SO much use out of it!). A fancy border, some silver cord and I called it done. Oh...the holly image you see on the red and sentiment pieces is from the set called Leaf Lines. If you haven't taken a look at that set, you should, it is very nice! Oh, and one more thing...all the white cardstock you see is Shimmery White which has become a favorite recently. Everything I used on this card can be found in my Stampin' Up! website that you can find a link for in my right side column!

I hope that you'll all hop over to Kerry's blog to see the sketch and what the other DT members have to show ya and then...participate! It is a lot of fun!

Today is very busy for me today so I should scoot! Have a super day!

A Few Photos

Morning all! I told ya yesterday that I'd share a few photos from our trip to WDW with ya so here ya go!
Above is the lovely view from the balcony at our resort. Yep, that is a golf course and it is a golf course that is used for PGA play. I loved going out on the balcony in the morning...except for the major humidity we had. It was 90 and about 85% humidity most of the time. Such is life though!
The above photo is just a photo I took on Tom Sawyers Island. When I saw the water wheel I thought it would make a good picture. What do you think?
And here is Todd after the Pirate of the Caribbean ride. That one wasn't quite what we were thinking it would be but neat none the less.
This is one of the first photos we took. Everyone has to have one with themselves and the castle, right?
I think I forgot to tell you I got to see my BFF while at WDW...lol! No, seriously, Belle is my favorite Disney Princess. I'm not sure why but I love her.Sigh
Back behind the trees is the ride Big Thunder Mountain. It is a tame but VERY fun roller coaster. I haven't been on a roller coaster since my teens but I could have done this one over and over again. We did go twice!
And finally a washed out (sorry about that) photo of Todd and I at the Biergarten in Epcot. German food and October beer...yummy! The final full day was spent at Epcot as we wanted to ride the Test Track and they were having a Food and Wine Festival. There were little stands throughout the country part of Epcot that sold food from lots of different countries. Needless to say...that was my favorite day!

We were up early (at 2 a.m. PT) to head back home. The flight is a 6 hour flight home as there is no tail wind to help us along...my goodness it was long but at least it was quiet and we had a nice lady sitting in our row! I don't know how Todd could stand his really long international flights....ughh!

Anyway, see ya tomorrow with my card for the 3 Clovers Designs Challenge!

Tall Thank You Box

How about this? I'm posting something crafty two days in a row! Wow!

At Kyler's school each family puts in an hour a week at the school...it is called a PIP (parent involvement time). It helps keep the costs down by not needing to hire additional people to do the extra things that teachers need. Anyway, my PIP this year (and probably until Kyler leaves the school) is to set up and run the crossing guard program. While I was in WDW a wonderful woman filled in for me and did a great job...as I knew she would. I brought back a silicone trivet shaped as Mickey's hand for her (practical and cute! and the place I linked you to is way more than I paid at WDW) so I needed to make something to place her gift in. This box is just perfect!

I got the directions on how to make this box, which was SO easy, from Becky Roberts blog. Check it out HERE. Instead of Christmas colors I used the Thoroughly Modern designer series paper. The flower is from the Flower Folds Bigz XL die...again. I do love that die...can ya tell? On the lid of the box I stamped different 'thank you' sentiments from the Thank You Kindly set and then embossed the panels with one side of the Stampin' Up! Perfect Detail Texturz Plate. To make the box a little luxurious I added some retired chocolate chip satin ribbon for the bow as well.

Overall this project only took me about an hour to knock out...pretty darn good, I think, for the results...which, I think, it turned out wonderful!

And now a little run down for the rest of the week. Tomorrow I will be baking pies during the day for PEO on Thursday night so I thought I'd share some photos of our WDW trip then Thursday is 3 Clovers Designs Challenge, and Friday Blogger's Challenge day. I'm exciting to have an (almost) full week of stamping to share!

For now...I hope you have a super day! "Marvelous are thy works." Psalm 139:14

Table Favors

Good morning friends! Are you shocked? I'm actually posting something crafty! I know, I know...I'll get back into the swing of things soon!

Today, though, I want to show you the table favors I've made. In addition to getting the table decorations together for the Care Net Dessert Buffet (next Monday!) Todd and I are also hosting two tables of our friends. When the Care Net director (Hi Judy!) said it would be okay to make table favors I knew exactly what I'd do. The colors of the banquet are black, white and our accent color, red. I just got these big tins in a bulk buy on the LNS Demo group so they were, of course, screaming out to me to use them. I used a retired jumbo wheel to decorate the nuggets as the heart is part of the Care Net logo. In the current set Baroque Motifs there is a fabulous swirl stamp that I used in red on Shimmery White card stock to make the belly band and add some color to the sentiment circle. The flower is made from the Flower Folds Bigz XL Die and my Big Shot...those two things made this project a breeze! A little bit of black ribbon to finish the tin off and wahlah...all done! Really, once I figured out what I wanted to make it didn't take me anytime at all to put 8 of those tins together!

Now, the little tin I made for the speaker. The speakers name is Nina Fuller. She has a wonderful family including two girls with Downs Syndrome which is what she'll be speaking on. The shocking statistic is that 80-90% of the babies diagnosed with Downs Syndrome in utero are aborted. Here is a little from Nina's website..TESS-TIMONY of HOPE – Nina’s internationally popular presentation will take you to the heart of the pro-life vs. pro-choice issues of today. You will hear firsthand why Nina did not abort her fourth child even when her own life was compromised while carrying a baby with Down syndrome and heart defects. Deuteronomy 30:19, 20. I used the 'cherish' from the Baroque Motifs set for the sentiment on the sides of the tin and decorated the top by places a stamped piece of paper inside the top of the tin. Again, a little ribbon to finish it off and I was done.

If you've read this far...congrats! I was a little long winded this morning for sure!

I hope that you all have a super wonderful day!

Clearly Thanks II

And here we are at the last day of pre-posting and the final day of my Clearly Thanks Thank You Set. Today I have two cards and the box for ya to see.

I'm sure you are wondering what part of the card to the right is a window sheet right? Well, it is the clear polka dot layer. How fun, huh? My favorite card you see next...I love that ribbon...it softens the block letters of the window sheet.

Lastly the box is a Criss Cross box that I got the pattern from the Fall UStamp. You can see all about that HERE. SO worth the money you spend on it!

So...what do you think? Aren't they cute? I know several people I could give this too but for now...I'll hang onto it.

One final reminder about my birthday special. You can see about it HERE. Have a super day everyone and I'll see you on Friday...or maybe Thursday night...we'll see.

Clearly Thanks

Welcome back for day three of pre-posting! Thank you for being so patient with me! Today and Wednesday I will be showing you a set of four cards and a box for them to go into. What so special about that? Well, all the cards and the box are created with the Clearly Thanks Window Sheets and Thoroughly Modern Designer Series Paper. You will see that each of the cards is relatively simple but the window sheets are so striking that they just don't need anything else! You get four "cards" from each window sheet in the 8 1/2 x 11 sets.

I on accident made them all Thank You cards. I was making my fourth card and realized the rest were thank you's so I figured why not...a thank you set is perfect!

If you have any questions please let me know!

Don't forget about my birthday special I have going on. You can see it HERE.

So Simple Challenge

Hi All! You are tuning in for my 2nd day of pre-posting and today I'm showing you the card I did for this weeks challenge on the Late Night Stampers Yahoo Group. It is called (not) So Simple. Basically it is to create a no layer card. I think the (not) part is because so many people have problems with not layering things but honestly...I love it. It is a refreshing departure from making the more fussy cards.

That said...I did struggle with this challenge as I was trying a different layout than this, my normal no layer layout. My first try (okay first three tries) didn't turn out the way I would have liked but I'm not giving up on them as I think it would look really nice if I could figure it out. Anyways, I used the reverse masking technique for this card. I just cut a piece of paper 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" and then cut an oval out of the middle. I then layer this onto the cardstock that I'll be using and stamp, sponge, and create 'til my hearts content. For this card I used Shimmery White cardstock and the stamp set Cheep Talk. My colors are Soft Suede, Crushed Curry, and Ballet Blue. I then added some score lines for structure and tahdah! I must say that I really like this one!

Alright ladies...don't forget about my birthday celebration. You can read about that HERE. See you in a couple of days!

Today is your birthday...

Oh, wait...no it isn't...it is MY birthday! My 40th birthday! First I'm going to show you my Blogger's Challenge card for today and then I'm going to give you guys the gift for my birthday...yay!

So, this weeks Blogger's Challenge is a sketch...love that! I forgot to download the sketch but if you click on the Blogger's Challenge button to the right I bet you one of the other girls has it. I used all new Stampin' Up! products for this card. SO fun! I think I'll put the deets at the bottom of the post so if you want to know what I used that is the place to see it! Isn't it just a fun card! I love the snowflakes and that sentiment is SO cute!

Okay, now...for my birthday. First look what Dani made and sent me! How would she know that I would love that plaque? I can't wait to have my own stamp room so I can put this (and a couple of other wonderful things that my friends have made for me) up on the wall!

Now...how about you guys get the gift for my birthday?! Here is how it is going to work. For each $40 you order from my Stampin' Up! website HERE anytime between today and October 15th at midnight you will earn a ticket for a chance to win $40 in SU! merchandise of your choice!* Now, if anything in your order is pink in color you will get a second chance to win the free SU! merchandise AND 10% of my commission from that part of your order goes to Susan G Komen foundation as well! Everyone wins all the way around. Another thing you need to remember about me is that I'm sometimes unpredictable so you may want to comment on my blog while I'm gone...you never know what will happen!

So...what are you waiting for? Go order those SU! products that you've been wanting...you may just be the person that wins $40 in products of your choice!

Just a note...posting will be sporadic over the next week as Todd and I enjoy some time together for my birthday.

Have a SUPER day everyone...I know I will!

*(I will need 5 people to order from my website for this to work)
Card deets:
Stamps: Sweet Season
Ink: Real Red. VersaMark,
Paper: Whisper White, Real Red, Whisper White (but should have used Shimmery White), Christmas Cocoa Specialty Designer Series Paper, Snowfall Printed Window Sheets

3 Clovers Designs Challenge

Morning all! Just a fun little post for you today. Today is 3 Clovers Design Challenge day and today we were supposed to make a fall/Halloween treat holder.

Well, it ended up that I had a couple of my friends over yesterday afternoon after an early release of school so I promptly put them to work making 12 of these cute treat holders. The girls ran the cardstock and patterned paper through the Big Shot on the Top Note die, punched out the sentiment pieces (scallop and wide oval) and adhesive'd it all together...they did a great job, huh? And I must say...it was fun having girls in the house. They were so efficient that it only took about an hour to do them all and then they were off outside to play in the wonderful sunshine and cool fall weather.

Thank you Samantha and Katharine for your help today! I had a great time hanging out with you!

Tomorrow is Blogger's Challenge day and...my birthday...yay! I will have a SU! special and surprise for you tomorrow so be sure to check back!

Tea Bag Holder

Morning! Just a quick little post for ya today to show you a tea bag holder I made last week.

I wanted to make another tea bag holder but in a different way from my last one. I got this wonderful idea from Joyce...she sent me the directions and I quick threw one together. The accordian sides, when open, they have pumpkins stamped on them too!

So...what did I use? The stamp set Pumpkin Patch, Old Olive card stock, Dusty Durango DSP from the Level 1 Hostess paper pack, and some Old Olive Ribbon.

Such an easy project...don't you agree?

That is it for today...I'm stamping up a storm getting ready for my 3 Clovers Challenge day on Thursday and for Blogger's Challenge on Friday!

Don't forget about my Pretty in Pink Promotion! Just click on the pink ribbon in my right sidebar for all the info!

Have a super day all!
