Some Like It Hot

Happy Friday! Wow, this week has gone by SO quickly! My youngest son is having a friend over to stay the night tonight and since the temperature is supposed to be 100 degrees I bet we'll have the water slide out too. Ahhh...summer!

So...I have a friend (I know...can you believe it? LOL!) who is heading to Hawaii on Sunday Alohaso I just had to make her a card and a little something for her trip. For the card I used the Some Like It Hot set from SU! which is now retired but so perfect for this occasion. You can barely see it but I sprayed the white layer with Shimmerz Spritz in Baby's Breath. It just adds a wonderful shimmer to the card that you can really see...so pretty! Then, I added Shimmerz Blingz in Pixie Dust to the flowers on the flip flops and umbrella. Finally, I used Shimmerz in Sunny all over the sun. In real life this card is very fun and shimmery! The layout is from SCS's clean and simple challenge for this week. Love that challenge!

And, I wanted to make her a little something Hawaiian for the trip so I used some Imaginence paper, a chipboard letter, and the SU! Top Note Die to make it for her. The yellow on the "j" is covered with the opposite side of the flowered paper. I punched a hole with my Crop A Dile. A little So Saffron Twill will make the loop to hold it onto her bag. It probably won't last very long if she puts it on her checked bag but it will be cute for a little while, right? Hula

So, there is my bright and fun post for ya today! Please don't forget my Inspiration Challenge. You can see what that is all about HERE. It is a wonderful chance to win some Kaisercraft Rhinestones!

Have a super Friday everyone!

Hello!

Morning all! This week sure is flying by! It is already Thursday and I'm off to Care Net to volunteer today. I can't really do much other than answer the phone, file, clean, and overall look lovely for them yet but someday I hope to be a productive volunteer....

Anyway, I thought maybe it would be fun to play with Basic Grey's Lemonade patterned paper. I do love it! You all know that I also love sketches so today I used this weeks Card Patterns sketch...isn't it neat? Perfect for a clean and simple card! When it comes to sketches I'm a rather literal interpreter so it drove me crazy that I couldn't figure out how to use flowers on the left but it just didn't give the look I was hoping for...darn it! What is good is that everything (except for the white base) that you see on this card you can find at limeLIGHT Papercrafts...how cool is that? Let me break down the products for you...Lemonade Paper, Lemonade Pops, Lemonade Buttons, Unity Stamp set Mix Up of Cuteness, and Pink double sided ribbon.

In addition to all the fantastic HOT new products that LLPC has they also have a weekly sale and this week it is...

*All Kaisercraft Rhinestones 20% off (only $1.50 per package!)
*Basic Grey Clear Stamps 20% off
*Basic Grey Designer Cardstock only $15 per pack
*All Fun Flock 20% off (only $1.99 a jar!)

Please remember that I posted a Inspiration Challenge on my blog yesterday. I'd love to have you join in and get a chance to win two packages of rhinestones...one in Antique Rose and one in Island Lagoon! You've got until Saturday night to link your card up so check it out HERE.

Now, go...have a super day and I'll see you tomorrow with some fun stuff!

Inspiration Challenge For Ya!

Happy Wednesday! It is always nice to be at the middle of the week, huh?

While Todd and I were gone this last weekend I saw a cute little round zippered bag that you see below. I thought it had the potential to be a cute card so I took a picture on my phone and made a card from it today.

Basically I used Stampin' Up! card stock and punches along with rhinestones (which are all on sale right now and are only $1.50!) from limeLIGHT to achieve my card. The sentiment is from A Muse. I decided to decorate up the inside as well so I just added some Whisper White card stock along with a couple of flowers and tah dah!

Now...I thought it might be fun to see what you guys would do with my inspiration piece so....how about a little challenge? Go ahead and make, well, anything with the round zippered bag you see in the picture below, link it up to this blog post and one random person win a little prize from me. The prize is going to be sponsored by the wonderful Mandy who will be sending one person two packages of rhinestone...one each of the colors I used in this card! Woot! You'll get Antique Rose and Island Lagoon!. So, please link your project to this post by Saturday at 6 p.m. Pacific Time and I'll post the winner on Sunday! Tell your friends about this challenge...the more the merrier!

Alright...go ahead...get to work and have a great time with this challenge!

Garden Whimsy

Good morning friends! I hope you all had a wonderful Monday!

When I sat down to stamp last night what do you think was right next to me? Yep, my pile of current sets waiting to find a new room after I "get rid of" more of my retired stamps. There are still plenty available. You can see them HERE. Anyway, on the top of that pile was the set Garden Whimsy. I got this set when it first came out but, like so many other sets, I have rarely used it so...I pulled it out and stamped up this card. I've, once again, used the Cottage Wall Designer Series Paper...I'm still loving the colors in it! I also used this week's 2 Sketches 4 You sketch seen HERE. Let me know if you need details.

The other picture is of Todd and I in front of the Cadillac Escalade Limo we rode in for a tour this last weekend. There were 13 of us in the limo and we met the most fun couple and guess what their names were? Lori and John. Too funny, huh? Lori and I hit it off right away and I think if we lived closer we'd be friends for sure! Speaking of friends...I think I told you awhile ago that one of my good friends is moving. Well, we are coming into her final week of being here in town. Just thinking about it makes me cry but I know she needs to go. Our last lunch together will be on Friday so pray that we don't both just dissolve into tears!

I hope you have a super Tuesday and get lots accomplished!

*I am SO honored that my card was chosen as one of the Top 10 for this sketch! WOW!!*

Sunny Flowers Thank You

Good morning everyone! Why is it when you return from a little vacation you are more tired than when you left? We had a great time away for a couple of days but I'm definitely needing a nap today!

Just a really simple thank you note to show you guys today. I've had the Sunny Flowers set from Stampendous for some time now and just decided to pull it out and make a quick little thank you card. I used Crushed Curry for the card base and ribbon. The Copic marker colors are a close "match" to Crushed Curry and Dusty Durango so I think sunflower when I see this.

So, just a quick post today. It is supposed to be up to 101 degrees today so I'm not sure we'll be doing a whole bunch outside but at least it is sunny, right!

And finally...Happy Anniversary Todd! I love ya much!

Daydreamin'

Happy Friday everyone! Woot, woot! It is the beginning of a wonderful weekend...at least for me! Todd and I are headed off for our anniversary weekend. Should be fun!

Just a clean and fun card for you today. I was gifted the Inky Impressions images that I've used for the cards I've posted in the past. After today...I only have one more image. Yikes! I really hope that I make it on the Inky Impressions design team!

Anyway, this image is Angelica's daydream...isn't it adorable! I love the dreamy look on her face and her hands on her knees...awww! All of the paper and accessories are from this months Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients Kit for July.

Short post today as I have a ton of stuff to do this morning. I also wanted to let you guys know that I have an extensive list of SU! retired sets for sale on SCS. You can see them HERE. Please respond to the SCS post if you have any questions on them.

So...I'm not sure if I'll be back tomorrow or not but I do have a card prepared....it will just depend on if I have time tonight to prepost. Either way...have a SUPER weekend!

Psalm for the day...

The heavens are thine. Psalm 89:11
Which accounts for their splendor. (Isn't that the truth!)

limeLIGHT Day!

Good morning friends! Eek...it is Thursday already! Are you ready for the weekend? Got big plans? Whatever you do...make it fun!

Today is a limeLIGHT sketch and product challenge day! Woot! We all love these days don't we? First, see the sketch HERE. I do have to say I struggled with this one a little. Anyway, the product challenge is sentiments. I love to use sentiments as my main image especially when it is a scripture of some sort. This scripture is from Unity Stamps (it's called Move Mountains) and is especially pertinent to me right now as the Bible study that I'm in is on growing our faith. I used Basic Grey's Wisteria paper and some lovely Mellow Moss taffeta ribbon. This is a very simple card but one that I think will be well received by whomever I send it to.

So...I suppose you want to know the exciting part...what you are going to win? A Unity sentiment of your choice! Woot! Woot! Who doesn't love a free stamp? All you have to do is make a card with the sketch and link it to Mandy's blog by Sunday (I believe...check her blog to be sure!) to be in the running to win!

Now I am going to let you know that since I will be out of town this weekend I may not be posting over the weekend. I hope to get some stamping done today but I'm volunteering at Care Net today 11-3 so it would be later in the evening and you know how the evenings can go sometimes.

Hope to see you tomorrow!

Baroque Motifs

Happy Wednesday! Can you believe it is Wednesday already? This week is flying right by! I'm excited for Friday as Todd and I will be heading out this weekend for a little anniversary trip. I'm SO excited!

Today's card is made with Baroque Motifs. While I was going through all my SU! sets I saw this one and knew it needed me to make a card with it. So...off to work I went. I decided to go clean and simple so I went with the flourish in Rich Razzleberry on white card stock. I accented the flourish with a few flowers and a beautiful butterfly from the SU! exclusive die for the Big Shot. I also embossed the butterfly with an texturz plate from SU! Backgrounds I. The label is made from using the Mover's and Shaker's die and stamped with "cherish". I added a few brads and was done. Isn't it just elegant? Love it!

Then inside I added a piece of Melon Mambo card stock to cover the brads. I added the flourish on the left and the right side is blank so there is room for writing a message.

Everything on this card you can purchase through my Stampin' Up! website HERE.

Tomorrow is a limeLIGHT Papercrafts sketch and product challenge day. I hope you'll come back to see my my rendition of the sketch. The featured product tomorrow is....sentiments! Shhhh! I didn't tell you ahead of time!

Now...go...have a super fantastic day!

Inky Impressions 2nd Design Team Call

Morning everyone! If you can't tell this is my Inky Impressions Design Team blog entry. If you haven't seen the images before I know you're going to love them! Each of the girls has such cute expressions. I have come to find that I love coloring more detailed images such as these.

The challenge that was put out for the design team application was a color challenge. The colors are Chocolate Chip, Purely Pomegranate, Kiwi Kiss, and Baja Breeze. Beautiful combination but you guys know how much I love my patterned paper but there is no patterned paper with those colors so....I used my Big Shot along with some impression plates to make some interest in the paper. This image, Angelica, is my absolute favorite! I love the hearts and her hair?!? Beautiful!

The other card is made with LiLi. Another completely adorable image with the expression and hair! I'm always needing birthday cards but never have them so it will be good to have her in my stash.

Now, it is also asked of those of us applying for the design team to show our favorite card and favorite project. My favorite card recently is HERE even if it wasn't well commented on. My favorite project recently is HERE.

So, there you go! I hope you enjoyed this little peek into my design team submission. Wish me luck!

Beautiful RAK's!

Good morning everyone! As you can tell I ended up not posting yesterday as I was busy going through all of my Stampin' Up! stamp sets cataloging them and getting A LOT of my retired sets ready for sale. I should have that list on my blog here in the next week or so and my local friends get first dibs at them!

Anyway, I wanted to show you a couple of RAK's that I've gotten over the last week or so. I know you are loving the card to the right, huh? This card is from my friend Kris at Ink Something. The image is from Inky Impressions and I just love this image...she is my favorite! I just love this card!

Then the card on the left is from my secret buddy. The swap I'm involved in with this person came about in kind of a different way. I sent a card to someone and she e-mailed me sometime later asking if I wanted to be in her secret buddy swap group. After finding out a little more about the group I said yes. What is neat about this card is that the butterfly has a piece of lavender that my buddy grows at her house. It smells so nice! The white paper is shimmery too so it is so elegant looking!

Then last but certainly not least is a card I got from my Stampin' Addicts Demo Secret Sister. All swaps with this group are to be current Stampin' Up! products. I have been obsessing over this cute set called Cheep Talk and I so want the set. I'm glad I got this card for sure! Old Olive and Certainly Celery card stock's are alway a wonderful combination!

So...there you have it! My fun week of RAK's. Now I have to go post my thank yous where they belong.

Have a super Monday everyone and I'll see ya tomorrow!

Bluebird's Rock!

Good Saturday morning everyone! Aren't you just so glad it is Saturday? I sure am! Today we are having a Elementary Fun Day at our church and while we don't have a huge number of kids attending I think it will be fun...bounce house, water slide, games...yeah, it will be fun!

Each month we do a card swap at stamp club. This month we chose a get well theme. Easy enough, right? Well, I was having a hard time choosing Bluebird or Lots of Bots. Ultimately the cute Bluebird won out. I found this idea on Amy's blog and just had to make it for my stamp club members...isn't she cute? I used Brilliant Blue and Summer Sun card stock (Amy used Pacific Point and it looks fabo!). Lots of punches are needed for this blue bird and I'll list them at the end for ya. As with any project like this the thing that takes the most time is the prep...punching out all of those shapes...thank goodness for punches! It only took a minute or two to put them together though. Definitely worth my time don't you think?

I have signed up for two different secret sister swaps this summer and have started receiving and sending for both. I LOVE getting mail that isn't bills! I'll be sharing a card or two as I go along so that you can enjoy the swaps with me. Maybe I'll do that tomorrow? That and one or two of the swap cards from stamp club? Hmmm...sound like a plan to me! That means I better get them photographed (and I need to do my creative project from my photography class) so I'd better run!

Have a super Saturday!

Bluebird deets:
Cardstock: Brilliant Blue, Summer Sun
Ink: Brilliant Blue
Accessories: White Gel Pen, Sizzix Scallop Circle #1, 1" Circle, 1" Square, 3/4" Circle, 6 Petal Flower (the only one I had...for both the hair and the feet), Double Slot Punch for ribbon, and Big Shot.

Thnking of You

Happy Friday! We have plans for today and tomorrow so it will be a fun weekend.

Here is the other card from Stamp Club on Wednesday night. This card features the Level 3 Hostess set Kind and Caring Thoughts along with the new In Colors Melon Mambo and Crushed Curry. We also used Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Series Paper and Rich Razzleberry Polka Dot Ribbon. The unique fold and sentiment presentation makes this card a little extra special. I did see this layout someplace out on the internet but don't recall where so if it is yours please leave a comment so you get proper credit.

I guess I don't have much to say today so I'm off to spend the day with my hubby and son.

Have a wonderful Friday everyone!

Get Well Wishes

Good morning everyone! This week is flying right by for me. Today is my day to volunteer at Care Net and then tomorrow it will be Friday! Woot!

This is a card that I made for Stamp Club last night. It is super clean and easy but so cute...don't you agree? Sometimes that is something that you need...something that goes together quickly but is still cute. It was interesting last night as all of my lovely ladies were cutting out their whales at the same time. I wanted to say...scissors up...now cut! It was just too fun! Hopefully, they won't kill me for posting the picture and I'll be back tomorrow with another card! LOL We had a funny conversation about how not funny it would be to get the whale card as a baby card (they were picking their sentiment) or Easter card or one other type of card. Just go with me on this one...it was funny!

I don't really think there is anything too difficult about this card that I need to explain it but if you have a question just leave me a comment with your e-mail address and I'll get right back to ya.

I hope you all have a super day! Now, go...do something fun for yourself and I'll see ya tomorrow!

Awesome Game!

Good morning all! Welcome to Wednesday! This week is going fast and I'm still not quite ready for stamp club tonight. Guess I need to kick it into gear, huh? LOL!

I made this card for a friend who is in my Bible study. Her son will be going to the baseball championship games in our area this weekend. I thought it would be fun to send the family a card. Well, deliver it as they leave on Thursday so not enough time to put it in the mail.

Anyway, this image is from Pink Cat Studio and is Sporty Billy. This particular image comes with the cute mouse catcher and the set has several sentiments for any sport. The fun patterned paper is from Best Creation Inc and I found it at Scrap Your Trip. I got lots of baseball and football papers from them...fun! The ribbon is from a ribbon share I was a participant in some time ago. I put some glaze on the helmet to make it fun. I really hope this brings a smile to their face!

Alright...I must run...I have to finish up my prep for tonight! Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Mix Up of Cuteness

Good morning stampers! Well, was the start of your week a good one? I'd have to say my Monday was good. Todd and I are working on getting restaurant reservations at WDW for while we are there. We have three places we'd like to go to but can only make reservations 90 days in advance. As of this morning we have two of the three reservations we'd like to have...yay!

One of the places we'll go at WDW is a place called Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate shop. Yah...we are eating a meal there...not! I do really want to go and have a snack there though. Ghirardelli is my favorite type of chocolate so it should be good!

I guess since Todd and I were talking about that yesterday that would be the reason why I have sweets on my mind, huh? Well, I just got the Unity Stamps set Mix-up of Cuteness from limeLIGHT yesterday so I pulled that up, inked up the sweets and away I went! I went with Basic Grey's Lemonade paper and buttons again, added lots of bling through the dots along with some shine by making the ribbon shiny and the bite out of the creamsicle looks shiny too. Now I just noticed that both the paper and buttons are out of stock at LLPC so just shoot Mandy an e-mail to find out when those will be available for you!

Now you know limeLIGHT has specials every week, right? This weeks specials are:

25% off Stampendous Clear Stamps and Stamp Sets
25% off October Afternoon Cherry Hill and Weather Vane Stamp Sets
25% off Crate Paper Lemongrass paper and accessories
And, ALL orders over $15 will receive a FREE package of Kaisercraft Pewter Pearls!!

You all remember that I'm trying to loose just a little bit of weight right? Well, apparently the fact that we are going to Disney World has given me a kick in the bootay as I am only 4.5 pound from my goal weight! Yay! I've also started Candice Stringham's Oh Shoot! class but have yet to do the first assignment as I need some action in my life...lol! I'll let you know as I go along how it is going.

Alright, enough chit chat. Have a super day everyone!

Love Bugs and Alphabet For Sale

Welcome to a new week everyone! While this morning is a cloudy day here in Central Washington I still am happy it is a new week and excited for the possibilities that it holds.

I have a clean and simple card for you today using a brand new Level 1 Stampin' Up! hostess set called Love Bug. This is such a cute set that I knew I had to have it. This card also uses the Movers and Shakers Curly Label die for the Big Shot. All you have to do is place the Curly Label die within the front card section of the die, run it through the Big Shot and taadaa...you have a card all set to go! Very simple and it takes no time all! Remember, you can go HERE to my demonstrator website to view all of those products I mentioned and feel free to e-mail me anytime with questions!

One other thing today. Some time ago I bought a Stampendous Pail filled with the wonderful alphabet letters that you see in this post. Each of the letters also has 2-3 little images included as well. I used the pail the other day but have never used the letters so I thought I'd offer them up to my blog readers at a special price. The letters retail for $2.99 each but I'm selling them for $35 for the set (the only way I'll sell them is in the entire set) which includes shipping. That makes them $1.35 each. Shipping within the United States only and payment via Paypal or money order only please. As a side note the ring that I have the letters on is NOT included. Just e-mail me if your interested.

Alright ladies...I'm off to get some other work done, then exercise, and into church for a little while. I hope you all have a fantastic Monday! Smile
