A Mother's Day Sunflower

Happy Friday my blogger friends!  It has been a wonderful day here at my house...there was nothing on my calendar today!  I actually got quite a bit done...cleaned up the toy box for the grandkids, vacuumed the living room, washed sheets, made lunch for my hubby, and, my favorite part, I made a Mother's Day card for a friend!
This card features Molly Sunflower from Stamp Anniething.  isn't she just the cutest?  Oh my...I love the images from them!  The paper and embellishments are from Simple Stories and is from the Sunshine & Happiness collection.  I have to tell you...I really love this card!  It is clean, it is simple, and it is super cute!  The card layout is the CAS(E) the Sketch sketch challenge for the week.

I hope you all have an amazing weekend!  If you are a mama...have a wonderful Mother's Day!  If you aren't...spoil that mama!

Happy Brithday Emily!

Happy Friday!  Woohoo...we made it through another week!  A friend of mine is turning 10 on Monday so, of course, I had to make her a card.  After discussing with her mom what her favorite activities are I settled on using a uber cute Stamp Anniething image.  Check it out:
The layout is the current Sketch Saturday layout.  I really love this one too and may use it more.  The papers are from SU! and the sentiment is from Jaded Blossom.  Since I won't be able to see her on her actual birthday we all had lunch today and my friend really loved the card (and the gift card for froyo inside, too) and it totally looks like her.  She laughed when I told her the 'pants' are LuLaRoe leggins and a skirt...lol!  She LOVES LLR!

Well, there you have it!  I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

A True Love Story

Happy Wednesday friends!  Yay, we are half way though the week!  How has your week been so far?  I've had some time to be in my crafty room and managed to make two cards the other day so I'll be sharing one with you today...
This card is for my mom and dad.  I followed the Taylored Expressions sketch for this week and also the color challenge which was just Clean and Simple.  I think I won at both of them!  Though the sketch is from Taylored Expressions the stamp I used on the outside is from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps.  I love that I can make a CAS card around this fabulous sentiment.  They will be married 49 years here is a couple of weeks...they are one special couple for sure!  I almost feel like I should be planning their 50th wedding anniversary now!
Inside I added some hearts and a sentiment from Jaded Blossom, again CAS and perfect!  The patterned paper is some retired SU! in-color paper and the twine is from Trendy Twine.

I'm also going to add this to the follow challenges:

Make My Monday Challenge - Sentiment is the focus
Craft Your Passion - Anything Goes

Well, you all have a wonderful day and I'll see you on Friday!

Attack of the hearts!

Happy Monday and welcome to a new, fresh week! I was in my craft room making this card and I just had to share it because I was laughing about it so much.  Imagine this card without all the little hearts on the background pieces...yep, that is the way I liked it...then I wanted to add that cute little row of hearts on the edge of the horizontal strip of white paper...still cute...then I thought maybe just a few more hearts on the background...and that is where it went to attack of the hearts!
At first there were just a few extra hearts and I didn't like them so I thought maybe if I add some more it will make it better...ummm, not...LOL!  So...try to imagine this card without the extra hearts, k?  Well, the super cute stamp set that the sentiment and those persistent little hearts came from is a Reverse Confetti set called Go Together and it is retired but still available so you know, if you want an attack of hearts on your card you should go get it!  Hahaha!  I think my hubby will still like it and I'll have to tell him the attack of the hearts story too!  Also, the sketch is the current Reverse Confetti sketch and i really do like the sketch...I think I'll use it often!

Well, there you have it!  I hope you have a wonderful Monday and I'll see ya soon!

Early birthday...

Happy Monday friends!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend!  Our youngest son is turning 18 next month but we gave him his gift yesterday so a bit early.  Why you may ask?  Well, this son pretty much loves anything Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons so I did a little search (gotta love Google don't ya?) and found that the theater presentation of Jersey Boys was going to be in Seattle this month so hubby and I decided we would take him to The Paramount Theater to see the show but first would be brunch at the Space Needle (which we have done before but is a big treat!) all for his 18th birthday!  This was all to be a surprise so we conspired with our son's employer to get him the day off, informed him the night before that he was to be up, fully dressed (dress pants, button down collared shirt, and tie) and ready to go by 8 a.m. on Sunday.  On the way to the Space Needle we gave him this card with the tickets for the show inside:
Like many soon to be 18 year old boys our son also likes to play video games.  He also loves the Green Bay Packers and the Wisconsin Badgers so I colored the images with those colors and, honestly, it represents him well though he does not skateboard.  :)  For this card I followed the CAS(E) this sketch #163 for this week.  This stretches the sketch a bit AND it stretched me quite a bit but I really love the way it came out!  The image and eat, sleep, game! sentiment are from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps but, unfortunately, they are no longer available.  The 'happy birthday' sentiment is from Jaded Blossom as are the star dies.

I'll be back later this week to share photos of the day!

Wintery Birthday

It's birthday time in my family again, this time it's my sister-in-laws birthday and it is the day after Thanksgiving this year so I  have to make sure to get it in the mail on time!  I decided I needed to use this super cute Felicity image from Stamp AnnieThing.  This image was released last month and has been looking at me wanting me to use it...so I did!
I think this card looks very wintery (and maybe not so much like a birthday card but the sentiment inside is definitely birthday) and that is kinda on purpose as my SIL hates winter (but they live in WI, lol!).  I used paper from the SU! pack called Fresh Prints which I'm sure is retired now but I just love those colors! I used dies from the Card Mat Dies set, Winter Die set and the Flag set, all from Jaded Blossom.  I also cut out the offset on which to stamp Felicity on my Cameo...Stamp AnnieThing provides those SVG files for free which is wonderful!  This layout is the sketch from Sketch Saturday for this week so I'll be entering it there as well as the Craftin' Desert Diva's Make It Sparkle linky challenge...Felicity's skirt, scarf and even the frap cream has sparkle on it as well as the ice paper and the paper behind Felicity (it looks really pretty in real life), the Love To Scrap Challenge Blog which is anything goes this time, Craft Your Passion is anything goes, and I think I'll show it off at my own PDE Linky Party this week too!

Alright, friends I'm off for the day and headed for the 'big city'.  I hope you have a wonderful Monday!

I reckin'...

Hello and happy Saturday all!  It has been a cloudy, sometimes rainy day here which as been perfect to work on some crafting in my Croffice!  My question for you...have you ever made something that you just love and can't wait to share?  Well, today is one of those days for me!  I made this card for a friend's birthday and I love it so much I want to share it with you right away!
I used Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Book Pal set for this card, colored with Copics and then put together this card with fun papers from a super old (like more than four years old) TE paper kit (I love that have several of these still hanging around!).  The friend that this card is for is a sewer and quilter extraordinaire so I went with the thread bobbins at the top and added some fun coordinating papers and embellishments including some fabulous twine from Trendy Twine that I just got (it is seriously pretty...two colors of brown and white in that twist).  The die cuts are with dies from the Jaded Blossom die set called Border Dies.  I'll be entering this is the Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge #305 which is to use Twine and also to Kraftin' Kimmie Wonderful Wednesday Challenge which is anything goes and they post a sketch you can use if you want which is what I used for this card.

So???  Isn't this just a seriously cute card?  I cannot wait to give it to the birthday girl!

holy shiitake!!

It's birthday time (almost) in our house again which means a fun card was made.  Being that this particular son is going to be 28 (WHAT?  I'm clearly not old enough to be the mama of a 28 year old!!)  I had to think of something not childish and something with humor (all my boys have a great sense of humor!)!  Enter in...the gnome...
This uber cute and fun card is made with an SVG file called Birthday Gnomes at SVG Cutting Files, a cute little stamp from Birthday Candies 2 from Jaded Blossom and then inside is a mushroom from Jaded Blossom's Spring Dies and the sentiment is from their Gnomies Forever set.  The papers are from SU! and I used this week's Mojo Monday sketch 421 which is tall and skinny so this card is 3.5"x6".
Once I got past deciding which papers to use for the balloons this was a fun, straight forward card to make!  Today I start on a set of Christmas 'somethings' to donate to a silent auction for our local Search and Rescue team.  I am still trying to decide which way I'm going to go with it so check back soon to see at least some glimpses!

Horribly Happy Halloween

Happy Wednesday everyone!  Right now Wednesday is one of my favorite days...why?  Because, typically, it is very laid back...no appointments, kiddo at school then to work, and hubby works then goes off to overtime (for a couple of more weeks at least) which all means...Cinderella chores get done early so I can craft all day, then I treat myself to a yummy dinner in, then it is bath time...ahhh!!  By the time all that is done my family is home and I'm ready for them to be!

Anyway, I'm here to share another Halloween card that I made.  This time it is filled with Jaded Blossom goodness from the September release...so fun!  (I also see that I need to find my clear embossing powder for future white ink stamping.)
I love the paper from doodlebug design oct 31st pad...so fun!  I sorta kinda used the Sweet Sunday Sketch for this week too.  Who loves Halloween?  Do you go all out?  I'd love to hear about it!

You're Tweet!

Good morning!  I have been crafting lots recently just haven't taken photos of some of it yet or been able to get it blogged.  I'm working on some cards for a local children's store and want to get a few more made before I photograph them but they are looking cute!

Last night I needed to make a thank you card for our neighbor so I grabbed out the newest stamp club/die club set from The Stamps of Life called birdcage2stamp and got to work.  I knew I wanted to use a sketch so I decided on the sketch for the month from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps.  Thankfully you don't have to use one of their images to play along!  And this last week's Wonderful Wednesday is Anything Goes...yay!
The papers all come from a very old Taylored Expressions kit and I even used twine on my card which is Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps theme of the week!  I'll also be entering this into the Craft Your Passion Anything Goes Challenge.  Go me!
Inside the card I added some extra cardstock and a little bird from the TSOL set.  It's really cute and I'm excited to give it to my neighbor as a thank you card.

So, I'll be back at making some sample cards for the children's store today...well, after I order the corsage for my son's prom date!

Fun day ahead and I hope you have one too!

Pet Sympathy

Hello!  Yes, I have been creating (quite a bit actually) but as you'd guess lots of things are for Valentine's Day so I'll share those on Saturday (they turned out great!).  Today I thought I'd share the card I made for my son's girlfriend whose dog had cancer and they had to let her go this last week.  She is, understandably, very sad so I hope she will find some comfort in this card.

I actually wish I would have made this a little more whimsical as she is a 20 something but it is the thought that counts, right?  I do love this sketch...it's from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps and I can enter it in the challenge as it is open to all images.  Speaking of images, yes I once again used the PTI Sympathy set with the companion pet set.  I had all the paper laying around forever so I just picked it up and went with it.  I'm trying to just use what I have as I have SO much so you may see some really old supplies in the future!!

I'll be back tomorrow with a card that uses The Stamps of Life's new kitty set...so cute!  Then Saturday I'll show you my Valentine's projects...I think you'll really like them...just know I used my Cricut a lot and SVG's from the SVG Cutting Files recent blog hop (the freebie files are incredible and, unfortunately for those who didn't get them, no longer available).

Have a great day!

Good Friday morning everyone! What a whirlwind week it has been! I can't believe it is Friday already! We are onto Fair and Rodeo weekend...fun stuff! As fun as that is for me you aren't here for that are you? Being that there are five Friday's in August we get an extra Sketches by Carly week. Yay! Scroll on down...
So this week I have used one of Carly's (yep the one who draws the sketches) digital images.  This one is called Carly's Puppy and can be found HERE.  This was such a fun, upbeat card to make.
And a little peek at the inside for ya too.  I wanted to put that sun on the outside but darn if I could make it look right.  Instead, I used butterflies on the outside so I could play along with Flutter By Wednesday's.  The challenge was to decorate the inside of your card and to be sure to have something fluttery on the card too.  This one works in both ways...yay!  Did you know that I decorate the inside of almost all of my cards?  Yep!
And here is the sketch for the week.  I only went off sketch at the bottom where I put the sentiment but I think I followed it pretty well.  Our sponsor for this week is Kelly Little.  She has a wonderful envie full of crafting goodness for you!  (Trust me...you'll wanna play along with this one!)

So, there you have it!  Hopefully I'll be back tomorrow morning with cute teacher themed gift.  Till then...have a wonderful day!

You & Me

Good morning friends! I hope you had a wonderful Sunday! Was it a relaxing one or did you get lots done outside/inside? It was pretty relaxing for me which was super nice. I took they day off of all exercising which was probably a mistake and I'll feel it today but...oh, well!
When our was out in blogland I saw Patti's really pretty card HERE.  The sketch intrigued me so I decided to play with it too.  I don't have any Repeat Impressions stamps but the post said that I can play along without so I used some new to me stamps from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps called You & Me.  I'm a sucker for a stamp set that I can use to make a card for Todd with!  Anyway, didn't it turn out cute?
Here is a side view...I wanted you to be able to see the inside and that I popped up the two image panels.  I just think this is so fun and can't wait to give it to him at some point!

I'm hoping to find the time to make a fun teacher gift this afternoon but we shall see.  First, I must get on my bike and ride for awhile.

Make today a fantastic day!

Bouquet Chick

Good Saturday morning! Oops, I forgot to post yesterday...sorry about that!  Yesterday was our anniversary and my husband got me something that took my interest for most of the down time I had yesterday.  I'll show you below.  In the mean time...a card I made!

I made this card with one of the super cute new images from this months release over at Designed2Delight.  This one is called Bouquet Chick.  I grabbed some paper out of my stash, used the OWH sketch for the week, and got to work.   I printed Bouquet Chick directly on the white cardstock and then colored it in using my Copic markers.  Do you see a little bling on the vase?  Fun!
And then because I colored directly on the white cardstock I needed to cover up the see through ink so I placed some cardstock on both sides of the inside potion of the card.  I added the 'Hey there' sentiment and called it good.

What was it that we got for our anniversary that kept me busy?  This beautiful little device...an iPad of the newest sort!  Talk about exciting!  Since I have an iPhone this iPad is pretty natural to operate.  I love it SO much more than the little netbook we have for our living area.  (The laptop is in my craft room.)  The battery life is really good on the iPad too!

Well, that is it for this Saturday!  I hope you have a wonderful weekend!  I'll be back on Monday with a scrapbook page I made...the first in months.  Smiley from millan.net

Hello, friend

Good morning friends!   I like to post come of the cards I make in one of the digital scrapbooking Facebook groups that I belong to every now and then because I think the comments I get are hilarious.  Things like..."I don't know how you make stuff with paper, it's so time consuming." or "That is so cute but I just don't do things with paper anymore.".  Well, I posted one card a week or so ago and a digital scrapbook kit designer asked me if I made many cards which lead to a conversation, a look at her blog, this cute owl image and Tamara asking if I'd like to make a card with one of her images.  I said, of course and got right to work!  Oh, the name of the digital stamp company Tamara and her sister have started is Stitch and Hootch
I used the CPS sketch for this week on this card using the tree as the element on the top.  I gotta tell  ya I really like this card.  I think it is fun, simple, and just darling!  Taylored Expressions just had a video out on how to use their dies a little more effectively so I decided to try it out.  While not perfect just yet I did a much better job than normal on this one!  Practice makes perfect so you'll probably start seeing more die usage on my cards!

Alright, that is it for today.  I have to get my workout in early today as we are taking a friend for her knee surgery later this morning.  Have a wonderful day and see you on Friday for the Designed2Delight new release blog hop...you are going to LOVE the new images!

Love Birds

Good morning friends! I hope you all had an amazing weekend! What did you do? Do you have any fun plans this week?  I have decided that this week is my week to get into a good routine.  I've been struggling with that and I don't like that feeling so...starting today I'm working on making a schedule of my things to do.   Wish me luck!

So, today I have a super cute image to show you from Doodle Pantry.  It is called Love Birdies and it is in color so this card was a snap to put together.  Rather than making the image into a circle I decided to cut it out and pop it up on a background, so to speak, circle.  I think it gave it the look I was going for.  My friend, Debby, gave me a Craft Warehouse gift card for Christmas so while we were doing some shopping I got two 6x6 paper pads.  This one is called Love Struck and is by We R Memory Keepers.  (The other pad of paper is WRMK as well but is for Easter...I'm thinking ahead!)  I love how the Love Struck pad has the blue papers for boys and some wonderful pinks for girls.  I used this weeks Sweet Sunday Sketch for this card.
Can you see in the little paper that is hanging outside the home it says L Smiley from millan.net T, which stands for Lorie Smiley from millan.net Todd...of course.  It is just a fun little element I know Todd will notice.
Then for the inside I just used some leftover paper from the front, punched out a heart, and printed my sentiment on white.  It is true...I just like being with my husband.  We don't have to be doing anything but just being near him makes me feel all safe and warm.  Smiley from millan.net

Well, there you have it for today.  I'm hoping to have a scrapbook page to show you tomorrow.  Have a fantastic day!

A BIG Smiley from millan.netto Eva today! I hope you have a great day!

It's Your Day!

Good morning!  Yay, it is Saturday!  Who is ready for the weekend?  Me!  Today I have several fun things planned so I'm up and at 'em early, well, early for a Saturday.

Before we left to see Jon I made this card for Todd's sister's birthday.  Todd and his sister have the same birthday exactly one year apart.  It makes her birthday easier to remember for sure!  Michelle is a hard working, do anything for you gal who forgets that it is okay to take some for herself so that is why I made this card with this image.  On the inside it says '-spoil yourself silly!'  I hope she did take some time to do that!

The patterned paper is from an old Tayolered Expressions kit.  There is lots of shimmer on the bubbles and on the floor.  I really enjoyed making this card.

This sketch is a sketch with a spin which is to use chipboard.  Well, my little banner that says 'It's your day' is a piece of chipboard from Jenni Bowlin.  (I also used a different shape of chipboard on Thursday for the Meljen's card.)

I have a really exciting day ahead.  This morning (in about 20 minutes) I'm taking a webinar on how to use MyMemories Scrapbooking software (link in my right sidebar).  I already know how to do several things but I thought that some extra hits and tips would be a good thing.  Then, after the webinar a friend is coming over to transfer stuff from my desk top to my new laptop.  Yep, I got a laptop for my craft room.  I'm SO excited that it won't take up as much room!  And then this evening we are heading out to Rigadoon, a dance club we belong too.  I have a fabulous new green dress and sparkly shoes and Todd has a really nice cranberry colored shirt for his tux so we are going to be all Christmas-y!

Thought of the day:  Bloom where you are planted.

Hot, Hot, Hot!

Good morning friends!  I can't believe it is almost the end of the week again!  Tomorrow is a half day for Kyler and then two glorious weeks off!  I can't wait for Christmas Break!

Today I get to share with you a new image from Meljen's Designs.  This one is call Holiday Chili Pepper.  From the time I saw the image I knew I wanted to make Todd's Christmas card with it (shhh...don't tell!).  It reminds me of the time we spent in Cabo this last spring.  I'm not sure why it does but it does.  I used paper from MME's The Merry Days of Christmas pack and tried to focus on the blue in the patterned paper as I was so reminded of the water from our trip (which was a cruise).  While the weather was not hot on the boat it sure was beautiful on shore.  We definitely plan on going back to Cabo to vacation one day (sooner rather than later I hope!).  Oh, and the challenge for this week is anything but a rectangle shaped card.  I don't get outside of my comfort zone when it comes to card shape so I just went with a square, 5x5, card. The layout for this card is from the month long Sketches by Carly challenge.

Anyway, all three of today's new releases are super fun so make sure you hop on over HERE to check them out and see what the rest of the design team has to show you!  I'm also entering this is 4 Crafty Chicks Challenge this week which is Christmas Cards.

OH!  I almost forgot to announce the winner of my black Friday/Cyber Monday sale.  So, without further ado...Jerusha, you win!  Just contact me and I'll get you the code for your $5 coupon!  Congrats girl!

Thought of the day:  Get up and go.  Take a chance and be strong.  Today is your day...go for it!
