Humbled

Morning friends! I know...can you believe it? I have posted three days in a row! I'm not sure about tomorrow though so don't get all excited...lol!

I decided that I would like to make a special card for Jon before he leaves for basic. I am always amazed when a person (male or female, my family member or not) is willing to volunteer their lives (literally because it isn't a job it is a lifestyle) to serve in the military. Anyway, proud mama moment aside, I wanted to make Jon a card, plain and simple! So, here it is! Oh, and Jon flies out one week from today...*sniff*.

I used Jen's Sketch For You To Try for the week and Verve's new set called American Hero. I want you to know I LOVE the new set's sentiments...you should check it out!

Alright...that is it for today. We are off to do a little shopping...maybe some Michael's...woohoo! And I might see if my WalMart has some of the Cricut Lite cartridges. Have I ever mentioned that I love shopping? Oh, yeah...I do!

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Going Grey Challenge

Morning all! So, how is everyone's summer coming along? Are you all keeping the kids busy? I like summer and the kids being off school but I hate that I don't really have a routine to speak of. I help Kyler keep a routine of sorts but am not as good at keeping to one myself in the summer.

Today is the Going Grey With Scrap Creations challenge. Today's challenge is patriotic...right up my alley don't you think? I've been having a super fun time making patriotic/4th of July cards...they seem to just come together so well. I think you may see one or two more over the next couple of days!

Well, why don't you go HERE to check out the challenge and play along?

See you soon everyone!

Celebrate

Morning! I hope that you had a wonderful weekend! I wasn't in my craft room much this weekend but I did make a card for a little contest that I would like to enter.

The bear was made with an SVG file and cut with my Cricut. There are so many neat stores out in www land that it is hard to contain ones self from buying everything up. I'm working on figuring everything out about the files and how to work with them in my SCAL software and honestly this bear is definitely smaller than I thought she was going to be...that is okay though 'cuz I think she is completely adorable anyway! If you can't tell her skirt is completely glittered up. LOVE it!

Can't link you up to anything right this moment though as I believe SU! would tell me that their BABW is too close to this bear to have a link to the store but go ahead and e-mail me if you'd like to know more about the card!

I'm off to upload this to the store's Face Book page and then off for an early exercise session.

Have a super day everyone!

Exciting News!

Good morning friends! I have a couple of things to share with you today. First, I want to let you know that in about 3 weeks I will no longer be a Stampin' Up! demonstrator. You will see changes taking place on my blog slowly over the next couple of weeks (if you haven't already). It isn't that I don't like their product it is that I can't reconcile with myself the changes that took place, last October, in our contracts any longer. While I understand the idea behind them I don't wish to follow them any longer so I'll be separating from SU!

Second...It is with much excitement Smiley from millan.net that I tell you that I was chosen for the Going Grey with Scrap Creations Design Team. Due to my contract with SU! I cannot tell you about everything this entails but within a couple of weeks I'll be able to fully introduce everything to you! In the meantime I've linked to my fellow design team blogs on the right side of my blog so you can check them out there! I will be playing along with the challenge this coming Tuesday so I hope you'll stop back then to see my card although I hope to post again before that.

I hope that you have a wonderful Friday and weekend!

Blast From The Past

Morning friends! Today I am participating in the Taylored Expressions Blast From The Past blog hop. The idea behind this blog hop is to use something from TE that is "older" to her line so I went with a sentiment that came from a set that compliments several of her other sets. I figured I could make my 4th of July cards and participate in the blog hop...double fun! The best part is that the papers that I used are from one of the kits that were available from TE. LOVE the paper and I hope to be able to find out what line it is from so I can purchase some more! Hope you like my cards! Be sure to check below for the entire line up of those participating today!
The above card was made with the CPS sketch for the week. You can see it HERE.
And the card is made with the Unscripted Sketches sketch for this week. You can see that HERE.

Graduation

Happy Friday everyone! This week went SUPER fast for me. How about you? There are things that I haven't gotten done yet that I'd still really like to get to but I'm not sure that will happen. Such is life, huh?

Anyway, I thought I would post the card I made for Jon for his graduation. I haven't even given it to him yet because I was sorting out in my head what I wanted to write inside. As it is I took up more than half of the inside and could have written more but I needed to leave room for Todd to write something too.

You know what I hate about when I stamp sometimes? When I look at something and think to myself...I should have done it "this" way. I did that will the "class of" stamp. I should have just bent the stamp to go "around" the image at the top instead of straight across. Maybe next time.

Well, there you have it. I hope he likes it! Have a wonderful Friday and a great weekend everyone!

Families Are Forever

Morning ladies! Just a quick card to show you today.

I needed one more Father's Day card but it didn't need to be a traditional Father's Day card so I took out one of my Cricut cartridges and cut the tree and sentiment. I did use a sketch for this card (I just can't seem to get away from them!). You can see that at the Moving Along With The Times blog HERE.

See? Super simple card but the tree and sentiment have some meaning behind them.

I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!

Pennant Banner

Just a quick post today to show you what I made for the front of our house for Jon's graduation party. I knew when I got my Cricut that I was wanting to do this so I set to work on it ASAP. Jon's school colors are blue and white with a little red. I also figured I could use the banner for Jon's going away party so the red, white, and blue works great for that. All in all an incredibly easy and quick project.
I hope your week is going well! I'm also hoping to be back in my craft room this afternoon as I have SO much to do.

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Have a wonderful Monday everyone! Oh, and don't forget today is flag day. HERE is some wonderful information for you to share with your kiddos! And one more bit of information...

The Day Of Teacher's Gifts

Good morning friends! Today is a big day for us...our family comes in town for our graduation festivities. It should be interesting to see how everything goes. On a sad note though...my grandpa and his wife are not coming. He was in the hospital last week and we found out he has pancreatic cancer. Your prayers are appreciated for them!

Today I'm just going to show you what I ended up making for the teachers. I didn't go with the purse from the other day. I decided to use my NEW CRICUT and make some boxes, load them up with candy and be good to go. Yep, I got a Cricut and I love it! I also got the Sure Cuts A Lot program and that makes the Cricut that much better! I've really enjoyed making these!So...top and bottom photos are obviously for Kyler's two teachers. I bought a big bag a Ghiradelli chocolate, caramel squares and loaded the boxes up with those and put in a coffee card for them as well.
Below, is a little box that I made for Jon to give to his math teacher. Jon has had the same math teacher I think for three of his four high school years. Mr. Johnson is one of the best math teachers and we are so thankful that both Scott and Jon had him. He is retiring this year though so no luck for Kyler. We'll work on getting Kyler in with Mrs. Faye though. The idea for the numbers and such on the box was totally Jon's. This is a little smaller box and holds about 6 pieces of Ghirardelli candy, no gift card though as this teacher doesn't care for coffee.
So, that is it for today. Tomorrow you'll want to stop back by as I'll have blog candy up for you all to sign up for. Don't expect me back here too much over the next week or so as with everything going on I'm not sure how much time I'll have.

Have a wonderful week!!

Thanks...

Morning all! Just a quick card to show you today. You may or may not know that I organized and lead the crossing guard group at Kyler's school this year. I wanted to be sure that the students that helped out knew that I appreciated them and their hard work and that I'd love to have them back next year so I made them a card and got them a little gift certificate to Baskin-Robbins.

Super easy with some bright red paper and a patterned paper that I've had for some time. I thought the arrows were a fun addition, too.

We are coming down to the last few days of school for Jon. Tomorrow is the Senior Excursion. The senior class will head over to Seattle for the day. It looks like it will be lots of fun for them.

The rest of the week(end) I'll be working on end of year teacher gifts. I think I know what I want to make...this purse with cards in it. I don't have that paper though (and my pre-order won't be here in time darn it!) so my set will look a little different. I have PLENTY of patterned paper though so no worries on that one! LOL!

Kyler has his Track and Field day today and it looks like our weather should be nice for this one day this week! Yay! Did you know we've consistently been at least 5 degrees below normal here. SO frustrating! I'm hoping it will be better next week for family visiting but I'm not so sure!

Anyway, be on the lookout for a giveaway very soon. You guys have all been so patient with me that I want to give you an opportunity to win something!

Graduation Card

Well, welcome to June everyone! I, personally, think May went SO fast! We are down to just 9 days until Jon graduates from high school and then 5 weeks until he leaves for Basic Training. YIKES!

Todd and I both know a fun young lady at the University who is graduating this month so I thought it would be nice to make her a little card to wish her the best in her future. I had fun with CardPatterns sketch #66 to make this card. I also used my very first TGF image. Oh! And, I won some wonderful blog candy from Jeannette so I used that to make this card with, too! I hope I did Jeannette proud with this card as she is an incredible crafter!

Off to start a week full of activities for end of the year. I think I have something everyday day/evening this week!
