I've got a gun...

Ahhh...gotta love it...we have SUN today! From Millan.Net We have had clouds and rain for several days in a row now and that is so hard on people so I'm so glad to have the sun shining, at least for the moment.
So, I got this stamp set awhile ago and after a conversation with my friend Patti I knew I had to make her a card with this image and sentiment.  I just giggled all the way through making it and had a huge smile on my face when I put it in my mail.  Patti received it in the mail the other day and I think she liked it!  Yay!

Short and sweet post today--I've got Thanksgiving gifties for the kids to work on.  Have a wonderful day!

Patriotic Pinwheel

Good morning friends!  I had some fun in my craft room the other day after I got my Taylored Expressions order.  TE always has fabulous patriotic selections this time of year!

One of the things I got was a pinwheel die.  It includes two sizes of pinwheels (I've used the larger of the two) and two sets of center adornments.  I have always thought pinwheels were cute but I've had no interest in hand making them in the past...enter the die which makes it SO easy!  The sentiment and stars on the bottom are from the new Betsy set.  I can't wait to stamp that Betsy image and color her up!  Anyway, I can't send this through the mail otherwise it will be smooshed but I can just hand it to someone if I'd like so that is what I'll do.  I've used the OWH sketch for the week with this card as well.
And above is the inside.  I love using patterned paper inside when I can, the extra uumph is wonderful!

Well, that is it for craftiness for the day.  My Jon should be arriving into town today.  He's been driving from the midwest to here for the last couple of days for his brother's wedding.  That is exciting!

Hello, Friend

Good morning friends! I can hardly believe we are at the middle of the week already! Kyler will be home on Saturday and while I'm liking the quiet house I gotta tell ya I miss him SO much!

So, I was planning on showing you a different card today BUT then I remembered I wanted to make sure that you had time to play in Carly's Sketch Challenge (which ends Friday) so I needed to post it today.

So the super cute kittie image you see on my card is one that the talented Miss Carly drew up and her mom, Kris, made into a digital stamp set. It is also the FREE set you will receive when you play along with Carly's Sketch Challenge! There is also a prize attached to the sketch challenge sponsored by McMahon5 Designs so you should probably go check it all out and participate...don't you think?

The papers, flowers, and brads on this card are from last month's Key Ingredient Kit that I get through Taylored Expressions. I adore my kits and am waiting for my new one to come...hopefully today!

I'm throwing a little Mama Mia party tonight with a couple of friends! Really we are just getting together to watch the movie...it is one of my favorites. I'm making Roasted Banana Pudding for the snack. I can't wait but I have a lot to do in the meantime so...I'm off!

Have a fantastic day everyone!Smiley from millan.net (I just wish it felt like summer here!)

Blast from the Past

Good morning friends! Did you know the week is almost over? Woohoo!

Today I'm participating in the Taylored Expressions Blast From The Past. It is fun to participate in these challenges so that you can use older, not recently loved TE stamps.

This time I used a TE stamp that I got last year around this time along with some beautiful patterned paper from Bo Bunny called the Liberty Collection. I just got it from TE this last week and I absolutely adore it...go figure, huh? Do you see the neat printing on the bottom of the blue starred paper? Yep, it says United States Of America and is pre-printed on this particular piece of paper. The eagle/flag paper is from the same paper pack. I used some lovely TE Tiny Twinkles stars (I think that Taylor may not carry this particular set anymore) in the sentiment as well as other places on the card. The particular stamp I used from Taylored Expressions is not available any longer but TE carries lots of very nice patriotic stamps (I NEED the 4th of July Wreath and die!) The base is kraft paper on which I used a little direct to paper technique with white ink. All the rest of the pieces of paper have been distressed with my finger nail. Wish you could see all the detail as it really makes an impressive card.

I am also entering this in the PaperPlay Challenge for this week, too. Well, there you have it for today! Stop back to see a super fun card!

Make sure you check out the rest of the Blast from the Past hop!

Hot...

Got your morning coffee yet? You know I love coffee and especially this morning as I get up early to exercise before the days activities get started. I've added a new activity to my schedule once a month and it starts today. I'm going to be the adult in the baby room at the local MOPS meeting. I do love me some baby snuggling so hopefully the kids who help out (from Kyler's school actually...it is their community service for the year) will give 'em up a little.

Today's card is a funny one for sure. I got stamp set from Taylored Expressions and in it is the stove and the sentiment you see on this card. I thought it would be super fun to make up and surprise my DH with at some point in the future. The layout is from the Clean & Simple Sketch blog from last week, I think. This is definitely clean and simple, huh?

Well, I'm off. I hope you all have a super Friday! It is pizza and a movie night here and we are going to watch How To Train Your Dragon tonight. Should be fun! See ya tomorrow!

Thanks For Dinner

Good morning friends! I hope you had a successful Monday in every way yesterday! Mine was certainly busy but it went very well.

Today's post is just a quickie of a card that I made a set of for my friend, Nancy. I knew that lots of people were bring her dinner and I had purchased the From The Heart and What's Cookin' set from Taylored Expressions when it had come out and the Key Ingredients Kit for that month was perfect for the set so I pulled them both out and shazam! A 'thanks for dinner' card. I wanted to make my assembly of the set of cards quick and painless so I used a clean and simple sketch, too.

Well, not really much else to tell you. Oh, I know I'm sure you noticed that I turned on comment moderation. I had a friend who wanted to post a comment but couldn't because I took away the anonymous option so I turned it back on, was (and still am) receiving lots of junk comments, so decided to go with comment moderation since I can't stand comment verification. Hope this isn't inconvenient for you...just necessary in this day and age.

Have a super day everyone! I have lots of the following to do...Smiley from millan.net and Smiley from millan.net.

Tissue Holder

Good morning friends! Long time, no post. I'm home from my little trip to the midwest and while I went for the purpose of going to my grandpa's services I still had a good time. I stayed at my dad and his wife's house (Hi Eva!) and it felt good to have a warm, inviting place to go at the end of what seemed like really long days. Thank you, again, Eva for your hospitality!

I didn't think I had anything to share with you guys so I hadn't been posting but then I remembered I at least have this cute tissue holder to show you. My friend, Kristine, from Ink Something 2 made some beautiful holders and inspired me to at least try it. While mine is not the caliber of Kris's I still really like it and it works perfectly in my stamp room! I used papers from last months Key Ingredients Kit from Taylored Expressions (love those things!).

I'm not sure when I'll be back with more crafting goodness but I'll try and stop in on the weekend. I know on Monday I get to share a Critter Sketch Challenge card with ya so I'll for sure be back then.

Have a great Thursday everyone!Smiley from millan.net

Fabulous Day

Well, I've done it! A full week of posts on my blog. It wasn't too bad at all! I hope you've enjoyed it. It sure has boosted my creativity!

Today's card is for the Taylored Expressions sketch challenge. It is one of those sketches that you could either go over the top with layers and embellishment or keep it pretty clean and simple. I think you can tell which one I chose. I also used the TE In The Park set again. It is such a fun set that you can do all sorts of things with. I just love how bright and cheery this card is! I do believe this one is going to Todd's grandma. It should bring a smile to her face.

Tomorrow is Sunday so I will not be posting. I do have a project that I hope to be working on this weekend so hopefully I'll have that for you on Monday and the Going Grey challenge on Tuesday. In the mean time, have a wonderful weekend!

**Yay! This card was chosen as one of Taylor's Top Crops for the sketch challenge. See HERE! So exciting!**

Just sittin' here...

Woohoo, y'all it is Friday! What a long week this has been. And the best part is that Kyler comes home tomorrow afternoon...yay!

I got the new Taylored Expressions stamp set called In The Park the other day and just had to make a card with a couple of the images. When I saw the sentiment I thought it would be cute to pair with the dog so that is what I went with. I used this week's Mojo Monday sketch and papers from the In The Park Pantry Kit. Overall a fun card to put together. This card also works for the Cupcake Challenge Blog which is to use a dog or cat on your project.

I think this one will go off in the mail to my grandpa and his wife. They love getting cards that I've made.

Well, I'm off to officially start my day. A little bit of exercise, a little bit of crafting...should be fun! Have a wonderful Friday everyone!

Going Grey Challenge

Morning all! So, how is everyone's summer coming along? Are you all keeping the kids busy? I like summer and the kids being off school but I hate that I don't really have a routine to speak of. I help Kyler keep a routine of sorts but am not as good at keeping to one myself in the summer.

Today is the Going Grey With Scrap Creations challenge. Today's challenge is patriotic...right up my alley don't you think? I've been having a super fun time making patriotic/4th of July cards...they seem to just come together so well. I think you may see one or two more over the next couple of days!

Well, why don't you go HERE to check out the challenge and play along?

See you soon everyone!

Celebrate

Morning! I hope that you had a wonderful weekend! I wasn't in my craft room much this weekend but I did make a card for a little contest that I would like to enter.

The bear was made with an SVG file and cut with my Cricut. There are so many neat stores out in www land that it is hard to contain ones self from buying everything up. I'm working on figuring everything out about the files and how to work with them in my SCAL software and honestly this bear is definitely smaller than I thought she was going to be...that is okay though 'cuz I think she is completely adorable anyway! If you can't tell her skirt is completely glittered up. LOVE it!

Can't link you up to anything right this moment though as I believe SU! would tell me that their BABW is too close to this bear to have a link to the store but go ahead and e-mail me if you'd like to know more about the card!

I'm off to upload this to the store's Face Book page and then off for an early exercise session.

Have a super day everyone!

Blast From The Past

Morning friends! Today I am participating in the Taylored Expressions Blast From The Past blog hop. The idea behind this blog hop is to use something from TE that is "older" to her line so I went with a sentiment that came from a set that compliments several of her other sets. I figured I could make my 4th of July cards and participate in the blog hop...double fun! The best part is that the papers that I used are from one of the kits that were available from TE. LOVE the paper and I hope to be able to find out what line it is from so I can purchase some more! Hope you like my cards! Be sure to check below for the entire line up of those participating today!
The above card was made with the CPS sketch for the week. You can see it HERE.
And the card is made with the Unscripted Sketches sketch for this week. You can see that HERE.

Goin' Buggy Again!

Good morning everyone! It is Wednesday and what does that mean? We are on the downside of the week. Yay!

I got a chance to stamp last night so I thought I'd show ya. First, I wanted to use my Gone Buggy set from Sweet N Sassy stamps so I got that out. Then, I remembered I got my Taylored Expressions Key Ingredient Kit for June the other day so I pulled it out knowing that it had some super fun colors that I could use with the caterpillar. What do those two things together equal? This card! Isn't it cute? I love the bright colors and the sentiment(s) are so perfect! And, the layout is the Mojo Monday sketch for this week.

There you have it and now I'm off to another day of VBS. I'm hoping to be able to show you the station leader gifts I've made tomorrow and then my card for the limeLIGHT Papercrafts sketch and product challenge on Friday so be sure to check back!

Have a super day!

new look and achoo!

Morning ladies! I hope you had a wonderful day yesterday...I sure did! The weather was perfect for Todd and I in Leavenworth and we totally enjoyed our day together! We'll be going back for a couple of days in July for our anniversary...can you tell we really like it there?

Anyway...WELL...what do you think? Do you love my new blog look as much as I do? I contacted Michelle Laycock a couple of weeks ago and asked her to please put me on her list and last night was the night for the install. She was SO patient with me as I changed little things around and got it to look, well...like me! I really wanted you all to come to my blog and just feel peaceful and at home as you are all like family to me!

Now, I know you'd prefer to hear about my project so onto that! A couple of days ago on the SASI blog Laurie Schmidlin did a tutorial for these super cute tissue holders. This being a high pollen count time in my area I thought it would be perfect to make one or two of these to have on hand so I can give them to people who are really suffering from allergies.

You can see that I really leaned on Laurie's version to craft this one but hers is SO cute...how do you not CASE it? Anyway, everything I used to make this tissue holder is from Taylored Expressions and all of the papers are from the May Key Ingredients kit. It is such a beautiful kit! I love it! The image and sentiment is from TE's set called Doctor's Orders...sick cupcakes...too cute! You must know that this holder is SO easy to put together that it took me less than about 30 minutes to do the entire thing and that includes distractions from the hubby and kids!

I Just want to share what my By the Light of the Psalms calendar said yesterday...

Let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us. Psalms 40:17
(People will wonder why I look so good today!)

The second line is the little comment they put on the calendar and is usually very cute...don't ya just love it!

Don't forget...only one more day to make a card with my sketch for the limeLIGHT anniversary party!

Well, I'll leave you with that today. I hope you have a wonderful Thursday!

a year (or day) of sweets

Good Tuesday morning everyone! I am going to need to keep reminding myself that it is Tuesday or I'll think we are on Monday all day! It will sure make this week go fast!

Today I'm showing you a card I made for the Taylored Expressions sketch challenge. I was going to use it for the Key Ingredients challenge too but realized I didn't use any stitching. Bummer!

Anyway, I used the stamp from Year of Sweets 2 that I would consider for May, cut it out with Curved Rectangle Nestibilities and then colored it. These cupcakes are SO sweet! If you noticed I successfully made some clouds in my scene that I just love! The wonderful Kerry from Three Clovers Designs showed how she makes hers a while ago and I just had to try! The trick is oval Nestitibilites and then just sponging around your images for the perfect cloud look...pretty cool, huh?

If you've been blog hopping recently I'm sure you've seen everyone talking about the Stamp Out Alzheimer's group. I'm just here to tell you that if you haven't donated (only $5 but more if you'd like) to become a part of the SOA group...ya might want to! There are tons of challenges (WITH prizes) as well as daily giveaways, some wonderful stories being told, and just a lot of camaraderie going on over there. Jen Tapler started this wonderful group and week long group. You can go to her BLOG to donate and then within a small amount of time you'll be hooked up to get into the SOA site.

I have a couple of design team commitments this week but I'm going to try and roll them into some of the fun challenges they have on SOA so watch out everyone...here I come!

Have a super day everyone!

orange cupcake?

Good Saturday morning everyone! Just a quick post today with a little cupcake card for ya.

Everything on this card is from Taylored Expressions. The image is from A Year of Sweets 1 and the cardstock and embellishments are from the March Key Ingredients kit.

Okay, it is time for me to be honest with you. I'm not sure what I was thinking making this cupcake orange...I mean seriously but all in all I still think this is cute. Let's just take this as a what not to do moment, k? LOL! This card was made for Kerry's Thursday Challenge...Eat it! Make a card with a food image on it somewhere. That is a fun challenge...go try it!

I do want you to know that since I am not a part of Page Plans any longer I will only sporadically be posting on Sundays. So...with that information...

I'll see you back here on Monday for my limeLIGHT Papercrafts April project reveal. This month we are going green! Should be fun! See you then!

Alright...I have a super busy Saturday in front of me so I need to eat some breakfast and get moving. Have a super weekend!
