Treat Holders

Good morning!  After a busy Monday I have a little something to share with you today.  Last night was the annual Care Net fundraising dinner and silent auction.  A few years ago I started the tradition of making little treats for the guests who sit at my table and this year was no exception.  I was going to make heart boxes but I ran out of time to do something such as that so....
We hosted two tables of guests for the banquet this year.  That makes 16 treats so I was looking for something that would be fairly easy to do and these little gems fit the bill perfectly!  The holder portion is one of the tags from SU!'s two tag die.  I cut four of each color (that matched the logo that you can see printed), filled some cello bags with two Dove chocolates each, and then tied with ribbon and attached the heart.  Pretty easy!
And here is a side/top view of the holder.  I thought they were just perfect!  It is kinda fun because there are quite a few people that bring little treats for the people that attend the banquet.  It is just a fun way to say "thanks for coming."

Alright, that is it for today.  I'm hoping to get some crafting in yet this week but it is another busy week so it may not happen.  Please be patient...I will be back!  And, I want to let you know due to the holiday season coming up and feeling a bit overwhelmed with all the stuff I want to get done I have stepped down from both of my design teams.  I hope that you will continue to visit The Cutting Cafe and Design2Delight to see their wonderful products!

Have a fantastic day all!

I know, I know...

Happy Friday!  I know, I know...I said I'd have this for you yesterday but it just didn't happen.  Sorry!  This is the first of a few things I want to make for the PEO auction taking place next month.  If you are impressed I came up with this...don't be.  I bought this fabulous tutorial by Becky Roberts at Inking Idaho.  So worth the $12.95!
So, this set has 4 cards and 4 tags.   The tags are so cute in the shapes of the ornaments and it all matches so nicely!  I actually really like these two cards...I think the cut out are really neat looking!  All products are SU! except the polka dot ribbon on the left ornaments.
And the other two cards are so cute, too.  I love having a tutorial but being able to make it my own by using my own combination of papers.
And this is just a photo of the ornament shaped tags.  They really are just the perfect size for gift tags.

I have lots more to make but I have to take a break from Christmas/auction work and do up my giftties for the Care Net banquet as well as cut about 450 hearts with my Cricut for the dessert decoration for the banquet.

Anyway, today is the high school homecoming game and dance.  Yes, Kyler will be going with a friend that he went to the Christian school with who now goes to a different school.  She would like to be able to see her friends so Kyler was nice enough to say he'd go AND we were nice to say he could because we really didn't want to do it.  He's a freshman and I think that is to young for a dance type of thing but since they are just going as friends then it is okay.

Oh, and I'm considering being a SU! demonstrator again.  There would have to be some changes made on this blog and I would have to drop my design teams but I think I might be doing it.  We shall see.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!  See you soon!

Zip Lining Adventure Photos

I'm almost ready to post another crafting project for ya. I think I'll finish it up today and be able to post it tomorrow. I will have a little group of four gift tags and four cards to share with you! In the meantime here is a couple of more photos from the zip lining adventure in Cabo.

Above is what I call the tarzan swing.  Basically it was just a way to get us from one side to the other of the little canyon.  The funny part, the part you can't see is at the other side they have mattress on the rocks in case the person doesn't stop you so you don't hurt yourself because there is no way to slow down on this one.  I did hit the mattresses too because the guy was still unhooking Todd.  Too funny! Smiley from millan.net
And the above photo here is from one of the two bridges.  This one wasn't so hard.  It is just two wires and your safety line is attached so no big deal.  (Our safety line was attached everywhere which is good 'cuz I'm pretty clumsy!)  The bridge I was terrified on they didn't get a photo of.  Oh!  I found a photo of the type of bridge itself...not us on the actual bridge but you'll get an idea...

I'm not sure why that type of bridge was so scary (our "commando bridge" was much higher up in the canyon than this photo.  By the time I was done my entire body was shaking.  Smiley from millan.net But you know what?  I did it!  For me, even stepping outside my comfort zone to go and do this was a big deal and now I know it is super fun!

So there you go...a couple of photos for today.  I hope you'll come back and check out my projects tomorrow, too!  Have a great Wednesday!

I'm baaack!

Well, hello there all!  I am still alive and kickin'!  Last week I was gone on vacation to Cabo with my husband.  Over all we had a nice time but there was a hurricane that affected the area so we were inside for almost two days of the four full days we were there.  Oh, well though, right?  I've got one photo for you of that on the bottom.  Before you scroll down though check out this neat Hot Chocolate Holder from The Cutting Cafe.
This is one of the easiest files I've ever used.  I'm so glad I have a cutting machine but even if I didn't this would be a cinch to put together.  I've used some older SU! patterned paper with my new Big Shot snowflake die.  Very fun!

Above you can see that the holder is life a folder that holds two packages of hot chocolate mix.  The set also comes with some cute sentiments so I made a fun little note card to put inside too.  These will make excellent little gifts for friends and if you have a couple made up ahead of time you'll never have to worry about that person that you "missed."

And here is the photo of Todd and I at the restaurant at our resort.  You can see that we were right on the beach.  The first day that we could we were outside at the pool.  We were only out there for about an hour, I had reapplied my sunscreen two times in that hour and I still got sunburned.  I'm wondering if there are people that sunscreen just doesn't work for as I always burn.  Anyway, we went on an outdoor adventure that included zip lining, repelling, rock climbing.  It was super fun!  I'll have some more photos in a couple of days for ya too.  There are also a couple on Facebook if we are friends over there.

Well, there you have it for today!  I am starting to work on some projects to donate to our PEO auction so you'll start seeing Christmas projects here very soon!

Have a wonderful Monday everyone!

Another Spider Friend!

Morning all! As I was thinking about the Halloween Treats I was making for the kids I remembered that we had one of our special trick or treaters for a day this summer and when I had her over I offered her a mint (that came from a container like the one before). Well, I have it from a good authority that she really likes those mints (her mom told me)so....I had to make her a spider with the mint box as the base!
So, this is the yummy mints that my little friend likes.  I don't blame her 'cuz they are my favorite, too!
I used the same file as I used for the front of the treat boxes and just attached one outline to each side of the box.  I decorated it the same as the boxes being sure to use purple as it is her favorite color.
And here is the front.  I stink at putting the smile on there as this one ended up crooked but I don't think that will matter.  Maybe it gives it character, right?

Anyway, there you go...another cutie spider idea.  Remember the spider body was made with the Spider Treat Box files from The Cutting Cafe.

I have added a few things to my schedule this week including being a Care Net for a few hours today.  And...it is my birthday today so that will make it all the more fun!  I hope you all have a great day today!

Spiders Can Be Cute!

Good morning friends! It is the start of a pretty busy week for me. Hopefully I'll be able to get lots of crafting in, too! To start us off our assignment for this week with The Cutting Cafe was to use one of the super cute spider type of files. I chose the Spider Treat Box.  I tend to really like making treat boxes!  I also thought these would be cute for the special "treats" I make for my friends kids who come to our house for trick or treating.  I made a boy version and a girl version.
I don't do scary for Halloween so I added big, friendly smiles and cute little dots all the way around the perimeter of the spider body.
The boy just had to have a bow tie so I found an svg file in my files and cut one real quick.  The other thing that is fun with these boxes is that the inside papers has candy on it.  Fun!
And the girl definitely needed a cute bow.  I guess I was in a polka dotty kind of mood when I made these, huh?

This week's Monday special over at The Cutting Cafe is all about snowmen so if you like snowmen you should definitely check it out as you get 8 fantastic files for just $4.99 this week!

Alright, there you go!  I hope you have a wonderful day!  Hopefully, I'll be back before Saturday but at least on Saturday to show off the Designed2Delight new releases!

Heart Shaped Treat Box

Hey there friends! I know, I'm posting much later than normal but I really wanted to get this out there for ya to see. This box is made with the cute The Cutting Cafe Heart Treat Box.  It is the first draft, so to speak, in finding the right giftie for those who sit at my table(s) for the Care Net banquet this year.
Here is what I like about it...the box itself (I love that it sits flat), I like the color (but probably won't use it but will use a variety of colors like are on the invitation...this color is close to the Care Net blue), and I think the ribbon is cute.  What I don't love...the color (it needs to match the invitations or at least compliment them), it is too simple, the 'for you' tag, and I need to change the angle of the side flaps as it makes the inside a little bigger than I'd like.

So, there you have it!  I  hope to have another draft of this box soon as the banquet is only about three weeks away so I gotta get to it!  Have a great day all!
