Sympathy

Good morning friends!  The dog got me up at 5:20 this morning...while I am a morning person I am not that early of a morning person.  Ugh! From Millan.Net Oh, well...I guess that gives me more time to get this post up for ya.  Yesterday a friend asked me to make a sympathy card for her to give to a friend.  I needed to make a couple of them anyway so I, of course, said yes.  This is the first of three that I'll be making.
It has been my personal experience that simpler is better when it comes to sympathy cards so I just used a pretty but simple image and my "favorite" sympathy sentiment on the outside.  The colors are Baja Breeze and Daffodil Delight and while I thought maybe the Daffodil Delight would be a bit too bright I think this is actually a lovely color combination for a sympathy card.
On the inside I stamped just the top part of the above image and added the inside portion of the sentiment.  Again, in my experience it is comforting to read or hear that your loved one will be missed.  Remember, time stands still for those grieving and they just can't understand how the rest of the world can go on so the above statement is a comfort.  I remember reading all the sympathy cards that came in after Brent died...well, kinda.  I remember reading them and putting them aside but when I went back a couple of months later I didn't remember reading most of them the first time so, again in my experience, simple is better.

I need to make another sympathy card for a woman whose husband died recently.  They had been married over 60 years!  Can you imagine the amount of loneliness she must feel?  She grieves her constant companion while I was grieving my future and all the things I'd miss out on by not having Brent in my life.  Such different ways to grieve yet still so real and right ways to grieve.
Anyway, look what came via UPS to me last night!  From Millan.NetYep, that is Big Shot #2!   Big Shot #2 is sure to make workshops and classes easier and more efficient!  Check here for the Holiday Class I have planned in about a week and a half!

Well, that is it for today.  I will see you back here tomorrow!  Have a great day all!

A Gift For You!

Good morning friends! I know it has been a few days since I've been here but with the holidays and such you know why!  Today I have a gift for you!

I know it looks like a regular 'ole photo but you know what?  If you click on it, save it to your computer, email it to yourself, open it on your smart phone you can then save it as your back ground and wallpaper!
And here is what it looks like on my iPhone!  Isn't that just neato?  I used a SU! digital designer kit called Christmas Jingle that came either in the My Digital Studio software or that I bought as a clearance disc to load to MDS.  The sentiment is from one of the stamp sets that is in MDS (if you want to know which one specifically please let me know and I'll look it up!)

If you like this little gift please leave me a comment as I take encouragement well and will probably make you new wallpapers in the future!

Okay, that is it!  Have a wonderful Sunday!

I've got a gun...

Ahhh...gotta love it...we have SUN today! From Millan.Net We have had clouds and rain for several days in a row now and that is so hard on people so I'm so glad to have the sun shining, at least for the moment.
So, I got this stamp set awhile ago and after a conversation with my friend Patti I knew I had to make her a card with this image and sentiment.  I just giggled all the way through making it and had a huge smile on my face when I put it in my mail.  Patti received it in the mail the other day and I think she liked it!  Yay!

Short and sweet post today--I've got Thanksgiving gifties for the kids to work on.  Have a wonderful day!

Old but fun!

Woohoo! It's From Millan.Net What fun things do you have planned today or this weekend?  I'm going to a Lia Sophia party today and hope to get together with a friend this weekend.  Yay!

Today's post is kinda random but I thought I'd share.  Back when I was a Stampin' Up! demo before SU! had something called Decor Elements.  I don't believe they sell them anymore though.  I bought a couple Decor Elements and hadn't put them where I was planning until the other day.  I think they are fun though!

Below is our pantry door.  Our pantry also holds our wine/champagne/martini (really, we have all three types of glasses!) glasses so I thought--why not?

And the photos above are of, obviously, my laundry room door. I love the character this gives the door. Again, just fun!  Sorry if the photos are all funky...I could NOT get them to cooperate with me!

I posted a couple of fun things from SU! on my blog today--a sale and a super fun new product.  I hope you will scroll down and take a look!

Have a wonderful day!

Happy Day

Well hello friends! Are you having a good week so far? I can't really complain so far (well, I suppose I could as that is how we are as humans but I'm not going to! LOL!). Today promises to be a busy one but that is always a good thing! Yesterday I told you I'd made a non-holiday card with my Be of Good Cheer designer series paper so I'm back to show it to you.
Well, what do you think?  I used the set Aviary for this card and tried to use a couple of the more neutral patterns in the Be Of Good Cheer paper.  I know the Cherry Cobbler has snowflakes but could we just call it a winter card then?  I actually kinda like this one. It took some getting used to but I think it will be a fun one to send out for no reason.  Inside I stamped another one of the cages on the edge just for a little fun.  Oh, and I have to tell you--I think there is a big holiday sale coming with Stampin' Up! so start making your list now!

Alright, I have a ton of things to do today and I'm starting off with an early Jazzercise class, actually early would be the one starting in one minute (6 a.m.) I'm going to the 7:45 a.m. class which is still earlier than I would normally go to. From Millan.Net Well, I hope you all have a fantastic day!

Stampin' Up! Products Used:
Stamps:  Aviary, Friendly Phrases
Paper:  Crumb Cake, Be of Good Cheery, Very Vanilla
Ink:  Cherry Cobbler, Gumball Green, Early Espresso
Punch:  Scalloped Border Punch

Christmas Owl

Welcome back! I think I'm getting into the groove of posting, daily, on my blog again. I didn't forgot to do it this morning! Yay!
So, today I'm sharing a card made with a set called Owl Occasions that is in the Holiday Mini Catalog.  Isn't that owl great?  This card was created with a sketch from the demonstrator group called Stampin' Connection.  It is a place only for demonstrators that is sponsored (and monitored) by Stampin' Up! and I love to be able to go there to find fun ideas for SU! products...it is truly a benefit of being a demonstrator!  Anyway, in case you haven't noticed I'm using the Be Of Good Cheer paper quite a lot.  It is because it is the only current Designer Series Paper that I have.  While I wish I had other paper it is good for me to think outside the box to use that paper for non-holiday cards.  Tomorrows card will be like that.

I'm feeling much better today so I think I'm going to try and exercise this afternoon.  Other than that...I'll be crafting away!  Have a fantastic day all!

Progressive Scrap Page

Morning all! I have to keep reminding myself that it is Tuesday. Those days off really throw me for a loop sometimes! So, I'm back to show you the first draft of my progressive scrapbook page.
Like I said yesterday I found a neat challenge on SCS and basically you do your scrapbook page in four parts...one part each Tuesday so this week sometime I'll add to this page for part two and share with you next Tuesday.  This photo is the view from our room in Cabo and the little inset photo is a picture of our room.  Yep, we had it pretty perfect!  There were four instruction for this round the background paper, the main picture, the vertical element on the left and the small photo.  Seems easy (and it was) but I'm nervous about what I'll have to do to that beautiful big photo!  So HERE is the link to the challenge again.  I'd love it if you wanted to play along with us!  Comment here so I know and can check on your progress!

Well, that is it for today...oh, wait!  I want to share something that a friend of mine is doing.  My friend, Sarah, lost her son 3 year old son three years ago.  Out of that tragedy was born a series of kids books based on the bed time stories that Henry and his parents would share.  As you'll read in THIS BLOG POST it is time for them to start moving those books off the shelf hence the reason I'm telling you about this.  I hope you'll take the time to head on over to Sarah's blog and ready the entire story of the books and Henry and while you are there click on over to purchase a book or two or three OR if you don't have little children anymore you can purchase a book for donation, too...that is what I did!  Go check it out, k?  Please share this with your friends, too!

Alright, now I'm out.  Have a fantastic day!
