Scrappin' away the day!

Good morning! Another quick post for you this morning.  I've been doing a little scrapping again and boy does it feel good!  I'm just about done scrapping the photos from our anniversary trip and hike.  I think just one more page and I'll be done!  Yay!
This is one of my two favorite photos that I took.  You guys have seen it before though.  I liked the idea of having a large photo of it so I just added a pre-made cluster from the scrapping kit that I'm using and a couple of photos and tahdah!  I'm done with the page!

Alright, I've got things to do and places to go so I am going to keep this one short.  Have a lovely Tuesday and I'll be back tomorrow to share another page!

Summer Baseball

Good morning friends!I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  I did.  It was nice and relaxed with not a lot to do...love that! On Saturday's post I promised you a scrapbook page today so here you go!
We recently went (if you didn't read about it before) to a minor league baseball game in a nearby town and had a great time!  I used a template in MMS following a tutorial on how to do it because you can't typically use a template in that software.  I'm not sure I'll do it that way again (it was a lot of work) but at least I know I can if I want to!

So, I super short post for ya today but that just gives me more time to create for future posts as I am now out of things to share. Smiley from millan.net

Have a wonderful day all!

Bouquet Chick

Good Saturday morning! Oops, I forgot to post yesterday...sorry about that!  Yesterday was our anniversary and my husband got me something that took my interest for most of the down time I had yesterday.  I'll show you below.  In the mean time...a card I made!

I made this card with one of the super cute new images from this months release over at Designed2Delight.  This one is called Bouquet Chick.  I grabbed some paper out of my stash, used the OWH sketch for the week, and got to work.   I printed Bouquet Chick directly on the white cardstock and then colored it in using my Copic markers.  Do you see a little bling on the vase?  Fun!
And then because I colored directly on the white cardstock I needed to cover up the see through ink so I placed some cardstock on both sides of the inside potion of the card.  I added the 'Hey there' sentiment and called it good.

What was it that we got for our anniversary that kept me busy?  This beautiful little device...an iPad of the newest sort!  Talk about exciting!  Since I have an iPhone this iPad is pretty natural to operate.  I love it SO much more than the little netbook we have for our living area.  (The laptop is in my craft room.)  The battery life is really good on the iPad too!

Well, that is it for this Saturday!  I hope you have a wonderful weekend!  I'll be back on Monday with a scrapbook page I made...the first in months.  Smiley from millan.net

Makeup Brush Box

Hello!  What's shakin' bacon?  Heehee!  Just a quick post for you today to show you little box I made to hold my make up brushes in my bathroom.
To make this box I used the pencil box tutorial from the Scor-Pal website.  The tutorial makes a 6" tall box but I wanted mine a bit shorter than that so my stands 5 1/2" (and I wish I would have made it 5" but oh, well!).  My bathroom is not red and blue but I like this paper combo so I went with it.  So that the brushes would stand up a little taller I, like yesterday's post, used shredded paper in the box.  It works perfect and my brushes are easily accessible.  I love that I can just make something when I need it!

Well, that is it for today.  I have at least two more days worth of posts so I'll see ya tomorrow!

Pinwheels

I'm baaack! As I was making this box another birthday opportunity came up so I decided to make some pinwheels to go with it.  I think I like this but I don't love it.  I love the pinwheels for sure!

Again, I used the Lovely Layers set with Simply Chartreuse cardstock from PTI.  The box was cut on my Cricut with a pattern from AR Creations.  I made a patterned paper of sorts for the box with the set and then used my TE pinwheel die to make the three pinwheels.  You can see that I made one pinwheel in the Simply Chartreuse, one in Melon Mambo, and one is white stamp with a complimentary stamp from the stamp set.  I put the pinwheels on skewers, cut the skewers down to size and then put a pretty good amount of shredded paper (the kind for gift baskets) in the box for them to stand up in.  Whatcha think?  Cute, or just short of cute?

It's Smiley from millan.net...are you having a good week?  I have had a great week in my craft room if you can't tell.  Smiley from millan.net I still have several things to share with you so I'll keep coming back to post 'til I run out of things!
In the meantime, have a wonderful Wednesday!  Smiley from millan.net

Start each day with a grateful HEART.

Good morning! Yep, can you believe it? I'm back for a 2nd day in a row!  I've been having some fun in my craft room the last couple of days so I finally have several things to share--yay!  I got the weekly newsletter from SCS a couple of weeks ago and saw a tutorial for this fun box so I printed it out and decided to give it a go.  It is SO easy to make!  You should give it a try!

The photos are pretty self explanatory but I'll narrate a little.  I wanted a little sentiment on mine so I grabbed out the PTI set called Lovely Layers and picked out this 'grateful' sentiment.  I then chose one of the shapes from the set and used that for the all over stamping although I didn't use a bunch of stamping.  This cardstock is PTI Simply Chartreuse.  (As a side note, I tried their new inks (well, new to me) and I love it!)
I made this for a friend whose birthday was a couple of weeks ago so I added a little birthday sentiment to the top.  I started using SU! whisper white cardstock for inside the box but yeah, it takes WAY to much paper to use cardstock so I cut some of the whisper white but used mostly copy paper.
And a final photo for you.  I just realized I didn't get a photo of the sides so you could see the other stamp I used.  Oh, well...you get the idea, right?

If you'd like to see another sample of this box my friend Patti made one and posted hers this morning too!  See it HERE.  I guess great minds think a like!  Isn't her card and box just beautiful?  She is so talented!

Well, anyway...I am off to get my day started!  I'll be back--TOMORROW!  I know, can you believe it?  Have an amazing day!

& You, of course

Good morning friends! Did you have a good weekend? I sure did!  It was pretty laid back but on Saturday Kyler and I rode our bikes to our high school for a car show and to visit Grandma Nancy (she had knee surgery last week) and then home.  Yesterday we went to a minor league baseball game and had a great time!  The team had been on a loosing streak but they won last night...yay!  I'll throw a photo of Kyler and his friend Josh at the bottom of the post.  They were sure funny last night.  I did have to remind Kyler, though, not to trash talk to much or two loudly, he can be bad about that.

Onto my card--although we went on our anniversary trip earlier this month our actual anniversary is this Friday so I needed to get to work on making a card.  I got THIS new PTI set last month because I love the sentiment I used on this card.  It is SO me!  I used the SNSS sketch challenge for the week which has a spin to use numbers so I added the number paper and put a circle around the "1" because Todd is #1 in my book!

And then inside, to further reference the coffee statement on the front (and Todd and I love coffee) I used the sentiment you see below.  I carried the sunburst shape to the inside and added a little heart.  I really like this card and I think Todd will too!
And here is Kyler and his friend, Josh, at the game last night.  On Sunday's they do baseball bingo so the boys were trying to win at bingo.  Unfortunately this minor league team is moving to a different town after this season so we'll not be able to attend too many more games.  Bummer!

Have I mentioned that I love summer?  I love the freedom that it gives us to do things like this not to speak of the warm weather! It is a beautiful, blue sky, pleasant day here and I can't wait to get out in it!  I hope you all have a wonderful day!

And to make it easier to see my cards up close I'm posting them here separately. Enjoy!

I think the above image is SO cute and a bit goofy.  It is called Birdbrain Balloon and I'd say he's my favorite but, truly, all the images are SO cute this month!
After being sick earlier this month I realized I don't really have many get well type of cards so I decided to make a card with Sick Chick for the blog hop as well.  Do you like how the chick is green around the edges?  Yeah, that is how I felt!

Both of the sentiments used on my card are from the Chick Sentiments set...all you need to make super cute cards with all of the new images!

I hope you'll play along with our color challenge!  Have a wonderful Friday!

Hello, friend

Good morning friends!   I like to post come of the cards I make in one of the digital scrapbooking Facebook groups that I belong to every now and then because I think the comments I get are hilarious.  Things like..."I don't know how you make stuff with paper, it's so time consuming." or "That is so cute but I just don't do things with paper anymore.".  Well, I posted one card a week or so ago and a digital scrapbook kit designer asked me if I made many cards which lead to a conversation, a look at her blog, this cute owl image and Tamara asking if I'd like to make a card with one of her images.  I said, of course and got right to work!  Oh, the name of the digital stamp company Tamara and her sister have started is Stitch and Hootch
I used the CPS sketch for this week on this card using the tree as the element on the top.  I gotta tell  ya I really like this card.  I think it is fun, simple, and just darling!  Taylored Expressions just had a video out on how to use their dies a little more effectively so I decided to try it out.  While not perfect just yet I did a much better job than normal on this one!  Practice makes perfect so you'll probably start seeing more die usage on my cards!

Alright, that is it for today.  I have to get my workout in early today as we are taking a friend for her knee surgery later this morning.  Have a wonderful day and see you on Friday for the Designed2Delight new release blog hop...you are going to LOVE the new images!

Colchuck Lake

After what I think was the 24 hour flu (during which I lost 7 pounds--yikes!) I believe I'm up and going again so I thought I'd come here and show you some photos of the hiking trip we took this last weekend.

This hike was to Colchuck Lake in Leavenworth and was by far the longest I have ever done at about 5 hours total.  Yes, FIVE hours!  The most I've done prior to that time is about half at 2 hours.  Anyway, we made it through and I really feel as if I've accomplished something which is a great feeling!

Enjoy the photos and the laugh you'll have at the end!

Alright, so...this was the first glimpse at where we were headed.  Yep, there is still snow up there.  Nope, it didn't feel cool, AT ALL, when we got there.  It was in the 100's in town that day and quite warm on the hike.
You are going to find (or you already know) that I love (to look at) water.  I love the ocean, streams, even rain in the summer.  This hike made me so happy as we had the sounds of water almost the entire way!
Here is my honey leading the way.  I prefer he leads that way I don't necessarily slow him down but I think I did a good job at keeping up a pretty brisque pace during this hike.  The website says it is a 6 hour hike and we did it in 5 hours and 8 minutes...woot, woot!
Yep, you get to see a photo of me too.  I'm not looking great as I was sweating beyond belief but I was really excited to have made it to the top.  Have I mentioned yet that going down was very difficult.  I thought I was going to die.  At one point I said, and I quote, "please God let it be over."  The next thing I knew Todd was saying...I see cars...WOOHOO!!!
Here is what the view was like at the top.  Pretty incredible, huh?  We could have skirted around to get down to the lake but we were both tired, hungry and we were ready to go back down after eating a little something.  Interesting fact about this photo...it was taken on my iPhone!
And here is your laugh for the day.  This is me trying to figure out how to use my iPhone correctly and Todd, well...he was just being Todd.  Hahahaha!

I hope you've had a wonderful week!  I've been creating but I'm not able to share those quite yet so I'll get back in my craft room again soon and make something I can share!  Oh, and I get to go get Kyler from the airport today...he's coming home from being gone for 10 days to grandmas.  I cannot wait to squeeze him!

Monkey Around?

Good morning friends!  I know it has been a long time since crafty (and it shows in my coloring) sharing but I have a cute little card for ya today!  My hubby and I are going to go spend a couple of days away (it is SO hard to find a house sitter this summer but we did it!) so I thought I'd make him a cute little (actually not so little at 5"x5") card.
This card is made with the super cute Monkey Around image from Designed2Delight.  I made my own sentiment (and yes I put it too low on the tag) with a dual meaning--the one you are all thinking and then we are going to do some hiking so that is kinda monkey-ish, right--climbing and such?  Okay, so that is stretching it a bit but go with me on this!  LOL!  I am taking the month of July off from the Sketches by Carly team but used today's new sketch.

Hopefully, I'll be back soon...I know I have some cute images to work with for the Designed2Delight release on July 20th!

See you soon!

He's married!

As you may know this past weekend my oldest son was married.  Just thought I'd stop in and show you a photo.

The wedding was beautiful and not without a couple of mishaps but what is a wedding without a story, right?

Hopefully I'll be back to crafting soon!
