Warmes Wishes

Welcome back!  I hope your day is going well so far!  If you are here to see my Sweet Stop sketch please scroll down or click HERE

You may or may not know it but I love SVG's.  I have Sure Cuts A Lot downloaded on my computer to use with my Cricut (SCAL is not available for purchase to use with a Cricut anymore).  I have lots & lots & lots of SVG's and I feel pretty comfortable using them.  Now Cricut cartridges not so much.  I can't figure them out for the life of me, right Tana?  LOL!  Anyway, Clear Dollar Stamps releases a couple of SVG's (that can also be hand cut from a PDF pattern) each month and I like to volunteer to make a sample for the release day so that is...today!

This SVG is called Beverage Holder but when you hop on over the the blog to see the post you will see that one of the other DT members made it into a cute Halloween treat box and a cupcake holder too so it is absolutely something you can use in a way other than the way I did but I love mine.   My local Safeway had the cups for $2.50 for 12 and the hot chocolate was on sale, too.  I got the Ghirardelli on sale so I'd say this entire project cost me less than $1.50 to make...perfect for teachers don't you think?

Well, that is it for me this weekend here on my blog.  I have lots of putsy things to do so I'll be busy!
I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Clear Dollar Stamps SVG Release Day

Good morning friends! Can you believe the week, as well as the month is almost over already? Where did it go?  I'm excited for tomorrow as my step-daughter Brianna is coming for a visit and we haven't seen her for over a year so it will be fun!  Please pray for her safety as she drives about 6 hours to get here.

So, today is SVG release day over at Clear Dollar Stamps and you know how much I love SVG so I had to sign up to make a preview of these super cute Windmill SVG and PDF!

Obviously the SVG is from Clear Dollar Stamps and when I saw it I thought it would be fun to make it into something that I could give to a teacher so I used the Boyfriend mini deck from Cosmo Cricket as it has perfect papers for this type of thing.  So, I cut the base and blades from an orange cardstock from American Crafts then resized the blades to cut them from the patterned paper.  I just measured and cut the box patterned paper myself.  Using a brad makes it so the blades rotate but I put it on there pretty tightly so it doesn't rotate freely.  There is lots of sponging going on with some not quite navy ink.  I then filled the back with pixie sticks for the teacher to give out.  I gave you a side shot as well so you could see how deep the box part is.

I hope that you like my Windmill but I think you should go check out what the others made with this SVG because those are just beautiful!  Click HERE to go to the Clear Dollar Stamps blog.

Well, there you have it for today!  Have a wonderful day!

Clear Dollar Stamps Digi Release Day!

Good morning friends!  Welcome to Thursday!  Yay, tomorrow is Friday and it is the first day of the week I don't acutally have something planned...love it!

Today, though, is a fun day here on the 'ole blogaroonie as it is a new release day for Clear Dollar Stamps Digital team.  Today I have two super sets to show you so here we go!
Above is a birthday wishes box that I made with the new digital set called Birthday Fall Critters.  I colored up the owl with my Copic markers, added some glitter to anything that was green on her and then built this box around the image.  I cut the box template with my Cricut and then just re-sized the template to make the sides and front, sides and back paper fit perfectly.  I only have two pieces of candy in there for show but it would really hold much more than that.  The sentiment is from the Birthday Critters set as well.  This entire set has such CUTE images and you can get it already colored if you'd like!
And the above card features papers and the image from the new set called Sentimental Quilt.  I know lots of quilters so I knew I had to play with this set immediately.  I adore this card and the antique-y feeling it has.  The papers are just so perfect!  The sketch I used with this card is from Sketches by Carly and I'm also entering this into the Ruby's Rainbow challenge which is something suitable for a girl.  I think this fits well!

Make sure you head on over to the Clear Dollar Stamps Blog to see what the entire design team has made for this release...the projects are awesome, I assure you!

Thought of the day:  If we all threw our problems into a pile and saw everyone else's, we'd grab ours back.

#1 Fan

Good morning friends! It has been a busy week already this week...yay! I subbed for the church secretary this week and while that is only until 3 in the afternoon it totally threw off my day and I haven't gotten much crafting in but I do have something for today and I have time in my schedule to create today so woohoo!

Today I'm showing you the insert to a notepad holder I made for an RAK. This person has kids that are all into sports so I thought I'd go ahead and make her something with a sports theme and I thought moms have to take notes during games too, right?

The paper that I've used is paper that I have in my stash. That "foam" hand? That is an SVG that I found on the net and then just cut it with my Cricut. I just printed the sentiment on the hand, put some "stitching" around it, and then added some stars at the bottom. It can't be thick so I couldn't add any dimension to it. I really like the results and I hope she will like it too!

I just want to give you guys a heads up about my blog. I'm going to be moving my blog to a new blog address soon and my followers widgets don't move with it (I don't believe) so you will have to re-subscribe. I will let you know when this is about to take place but wanted you to know ahead of time!

Make today a wonderful day all!

Birthday Boy

Whew...this week is going very slow for me so I'm a thrilled it is finally Wednesday! How about you...how is your week going?

Just a quick post today to show you a cupcake topper that I made when I joined in on a mini challenge with Scraptastical Kreations on Facebook. The idea was to take one of their cut files and make and, obviously, make a cupcake topper with it. I thought making a topper that denotes the birthday boy's cupcake would be cute. I made it with Kyler in mind so that is why it is green. It is the first time I've ever made a shadow in SCAL but I really wanted something behind the 'birthday boy' that matched it pretty well. I guess I could have made it a bit smaller but I don't think any birthday boy is going to care much! The patterned paper is from Basic Grey and that is a balloon dotting the "i".

Like I said...quick post today. Enjoy your day everyone!

Yahweh loves us because love is what He is and what He does. We are His creation. We belong to Him. He loved us long before we ever returned that love or offered Him an ounce of worship (1 John 4:19). And He will love us should we neglect offering any thanks or praise to Him today. From: It's No Secret by Rachel Olsen It is natural for us to praise those we love and thank those that do things for us. It should be just as natural to thank Him for the love and grace he gives us every day.

Bumblebee

It's Woohoo! My husband has been out of town all week and he gets home tonight! With Kyler having been gone too it has been very quiet in the house. God revealed many things to me this week and one of them is when he says "it is not good for man to be alone so I will make a helper"...that is us ladies. We are here to be our husband's helpmeet (definition is: a help suitable for him) and what a privilege it is for me!

Anyway, because I was on my own this week I did have lots of extra time to craft which was SO fun! Today I'm showing off a new SVG file from Clear Dollar Stamps called Mini Car. Now, my son LOVES the Transformer movies (even though he really can't watch 2 and 3) so I thought I'd try to turn this mini car into one of the stars of the movie, Bumblebee! I know...I know...it is a bug but surely you can all see the Camaro in this bug just bursting to get out?! I made this for a welcome home giftie for Kyler and to be sure that he knows it is supposed to be Bumblebee I wrote that on the license plate on the back! The car isn't perfect but I will make it again and I bet I'll be closer to "perfect" next time!

Alrighty, I think that is it for today. I have several things I'd like to get done before the DH gets home so I'm off! Have a wonderful day!Smiley from millan.net

It's A Birthday!

Good morning friends! It is a new week for us to praise God, love our family, and CRAFT! (Notice I left work out of the equation?Smiley from millan.net) Do you have any big things going on this week?

Today's post is all about my niece. She turns 10 on Wednesday and, while this will be late, this is the card and gift I have her. I have known that she loves to draw and is crafty from visits with them but I wanted to double check she still liked that so I called my brother. She also likes science and is a girlie girl so...I ran with the girlie girl. Go figure, huh?

I gotta tell ya about this card. It is made with an SVG file from Little Scraps of Heaven Designs. While I love my SVG's I have been frustrated too because I just didn't understand how to size the way I wanted. I know to check the 'keep proportions' box and then resize but that would give me something smaller than I wanted (see the inside of the card) so I finally asked the question on the LSHD Facebook Page then went off to shower. Well, while in the shower (does anyone else get some good thinkin' time in the shower?) I figured it out and it was a Duh! for me moment! When resizing in SCAL I just have to keep an eye on the main element of the SVG that I'm cutting to see what size it is and then all the pieces will end up fitting perfectly! Keeping the 'keep proportions' box checked, of course. So, the correct size I wanted is on the front of the card and the size I first cut is on the inside. Super cute with both, don't ya think? I'm going to enter this card into the Cooking with Cricut anything goes contest too! And I just found that this card works perfect for the Fashion-ista challenge over at Getting Cricky. And I used Carly's sketch again!

Then I wanted to send her a little giftie to so I got together some paper, animal shaped paper clips, pens, and, of course, some OPI nail polish (my favorite brand!). I put it all into a fabulous Thirty One Gifts organizer that I got when they were having their clearance and tahdah, what I think will be a perfect gift for her! Unfortunately it will be late. Her birthday is Wednesday and I'm just sending it today so it won't get there 'til Thursday. I'm bummed about that but that is what I get when I procrastinate! I hope I can come up with something equally as good for my other niece when she turns 16 in October!

Well, that is it for today. A long post I know. I am going to work today but the best part about that...I like my job!

I hope you make today a wonderful Monday! Smiley from millan.net

Rhubarb the Teddy Bear

Good Saturday morning friends! I hope you have wonderful weather so you can accomplish whatever you heart desires today!

Yesterday, at the bottom of my post I linked you to a photo of the image I was going to have on my card today...here I am to post that card and you came back to see it...yay!

Anyway, this sweet little bear's name is Rhubarb. Now I don't know if Rhubarb is a boy or girl but I think Rhubarb will be a boy for this post. So, Rhubarb is a brand new line over at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. Korin has drawn 10 Rhubarb images (and they are all just so precious) and has four in her store right now. You can see them all HERE. I made this card with Echo Park's Splash patterned paper and with Carly's sketch for the next two weeks. You can see at the left all the dimension and the gelly roll sparkle I put on the card. I'm not sure the umbrella actually "fits" the card but I thought why not? I cut the umbrella with my Cricut with which I have a love/hate relationship. I can cut SVG's just fine but when it comes to using the cartridges I stink! Can you guess which one the umbrella was? Anyway, since it has a Cricut cut element on the card I can also enter this into Challenge #41 at Cooking With Cricut.

Alright, so there you go! Have a wonderful day and I'll see ya back here Monday!

Grill Favor

Good morning all! Well, VBS is over and that should allow me more crafting time so expect to see more on my blog this week!

Today I'm showing you a Barbeque Grill Favor Box that I made for Todd...just 'cuz. This is an SVG from Clear Dollar Stamps. I just loved it when I first saw it but the lid looked a bit intimidating but I think this turned out great and more important I think Todd liked it!

The image to the left is with the grill open. Todd loves butterscotch discs so I got some of those for him and filled his grill up with them. This absolutely would have been a fun item to make for Father's Day. Slip a gift card and some candies in for a birthday, too. Fun stuff for sure!

Well, I guess this is going to be a super short post but be sure to be checking back this week for more posts!

Tools

Happy Saturday morning everyone! I hope you day is sunnier than ours. We have clouds and rain today. Not fun, but necessary I guess.

Today I thought I'd show you the Father's Day cards that I made for our dads. Yes, there are three...I am blessed to have three men in my life that are super dads to me!

So, these are tool boxes...can ya tell? Todd thought they looked great so I went with them. The pattern for these tool boxes are are an SVG from Clear Dollar Stamps called Chest Card. The examples on the sight include a toy box, took box, and a pirate's chest. Once I figured out how to make the first one the cuts for the other two were SO easy! Oh, and the file also has PDF's for the chest so even if you don't have the ability to cut on an electronic machine you can still make these cards!

Don't forget to check out Clearly Inspired Challenge #30 over at the Clear Dollar Stamps blog. It is a sketch and you have two weeks to complete a card. There will be lots of prizes so go check it out!

Alright, I'm off to start my busy day! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Congrats and Happy Birthday!

Good morning all! I will get to the Happy Birthday in a second here first to show you the Grad Hat Card.

This is another SVG (and I have another to show you on Saturday) that I got from My Scrap Chick. If you have a Cricut (or other cutting machine) and SCAL or MTC you should either follow My Scrap Chick's blog or subscribe to her newsletter as each week you get a free SVG from her and this grad hat card was one of them. I think it was from about a month ago. In all honesty I own quite a few of her SVG's. I don't use as many as I own but I do love them all and find them to be a great value! I made three of these hats this year...one red with black (it is actually not that red, more crimson) and two black with red. It is interesting but I find using my Cricut really fun recently so I think you'll be seeing more made with at least some elements cut from my Cricut.

What about the birthday? Well, today is not only Flag Day, if you have a flag it should be flying today unless it is raining, it is the Army's 236th Birthday! From THIS website...

Two hundred and thirty-six years ago, the United States Army was established to defend our Nation. From the Revolutionary War to the current operations taking place around the world, our Soldiers remain Army Strong with a deep commitment to our core values and beliefs. This 236th birthday commemorates America’s Army – Soldiers, Families and Civilians – who are achieving a level of excellence that is truly Army Strong. Being Army Strong goes beyond physical endurance and mental preparedness. It encompasses an indomitable spirit, and high ethical and moral values. These are not only desirable traits in a person, but in a Nation that wishes to live up to the ideals and vision of its founders. We are “America’s Army: The Strength of the Nation."

Happy Birthday Army!
