holy shiitake!!

It's birthday time (almost) in our house again which means a fun card was made.  Being that this particular son is going to be 28 (WHAT?  I'm clearly not old enough to be the mama of a 28 year old!!)  I had to think of something not childish and something with humor (all my boys have a great sense of humor!)!  Enter in...the gnome...
This uber cute and fun card is made with an SVG file called Birthday Gnomes at SVG Cutting Files, a cute little stamp from Birthday Candies 2 from Jaded Blossom and then inside is a mushroom from Jaded Blossom's Spring Dies and the sentiment is from their Gnomies Forever set.  The papers are from SU! and I used this week's Mojo Monday sketch 421 which is tall and skinny so this card is 3.5"x6".
Once I got past deciding which papers to use for the balloons this was a fun, straight forward card to make!  Today I start on a set of Christmas 'somethings' to donate to a silent auction for our local Search and Rescue team.  I am still trying to decide which way I'm going to go with it so check back soon to see at least some glimpses!

fun-sized

Still working on Halloween in my croffice this week (well, that and some Christmas) so I thought I'd share this cute little Trick or Treat Box with you.  I made this for the college boys that live just down the street from us.  They used to be very loud and obnoxious but have settled down quite a bit so I thought I'd do something nice for them.
I've just used 'fun-sized' candy from the HUGE Costco bag that we bought and filled this up.  The box and bats are SVG files from Miss Kate Cuttables and the super cute sentiment is from Jaded Blossom.
I'll be entering this project into tow challenges...the Jaded Blossom monthly challenge which is Halloween and I'll be linking up at PDE LInky Party whose theme is Treats.  Fun stuff!

Alright, I have tons of 'stuff'' to get working on so I will catch you all later!

Heartfelt Thanks

Good morning!  Wow, it has been over a week since I posted last...so sorry for the delay!  I was helping out in my church office several days last week and just didn't have the time to get to the croffice like I would have liked then starting Thursday I started to get a head cold, not fun!  But I'm finally back and here to show you some thank you cards I made for some special people.  The layout is the same for each card, the stamps are the same as well but I used a different patterned paper for each.  The paper is from Doodlebug's Fall Friends paper pad...such cute patterns in that pack!  This will be a photo heavy post since I'm going to show you all 8 cards in one post.!

The stamps are all from Jaded Blossom...the Autumn Panels and Kind Thanks sets. I also used Jaded Blossoms Card Mat Dies and Panel Dies. I used Copic markers to color my images and some brown/vanilla twine (I think I got it at PTI years ago).   For the 'heartfelt thanks' sentiment I used either Pacific Point or Bermuda Bay ink from SU!.
Well,t here you have it!  I actually really enjoyed making these cards and I'm glad to have them done to get them in the mail today!

Have a wonderful Monday everyone!

Smilin' Spidey

Another fun Halloween card for you!  I'm totally in love with this spider and I really dislike spiders so that is quite the accomplishment!
Once again I've used stamps from Jaded Blossom from the Spidey Senses set.  The outline of the spider was cut on my Cameo and then I stamped the spider on the outline.  The two horizontal panels were cut with a panel from the Panel Dies that Jaded Blossom just released.  I used the Doodlebug Paper from the Oct 31st pad again and used the October sketch from Die Cutting Diva's Weekly Challenge Blog.  The sentiment was part of one of the pieces of paper in the paper pad so I just punched it out and added it to the card.  I think I'll also be adding this to the Craft Your Passion challenge which is Anything Goes.  Yay!
Inside I placed a strip of the paper from the front of the card and a cute little owl.  So much fun!  Well, that is it for me on this MY BIRTHDAY!  I'm off to participate in the SVG Cutting Files blog hop and then probably should shower.  Have a wonderful day everyone!

Smelly Goodies!!

I'm back today with another fun idea for the special trick-or-treaters in your life.  I love making things like this for my friends kids and someday my grandchildren!!  The 'you've been boo'd' treat is perfect for those wonderful neighbors and co-workers.  I LOVE this kind of crafting!!

Both of these treats were made with Jaded Blossom stamps from the Halloween Treats set and their fabulous circle dies.  I just used some twine and ribbon I have in my craft room.  I'm going to enter this in the Love to Scrap Challenge of Ribbon or Lace.

Horribly Happy Halloween

Happy Wednesday everyone!  Right now Wednesday is one of my favorite days...why?  Because, typically, it is very laid back...no appointments, kiddo at school then to work, and hubby works then goes off to overtime (for a couple of more weeks at least) which all means...Cinderella chores get done early so I can craft all day, then I treat myself to a yummy dinner in, then it is bath time...ahhh!!  By the time all that is done my family is home and I'm ready for them to be!

Anyway, I'm here to share another Halloween card that I made.  This time it is filled with Jaded Blossom goodness from the September release...so fun!  (I also see that I need to find my clear embossing powder for future white ink stamping.)
I love the paper from doodlebug design oct 31st pad...so fun!  I sorta kinda used the Sweet Sunday Sketch for this week too.  Who loves Halloween?  Do you go all out?  I'd love to hear about it!

Let Love Grow

Gifting is so much fun!  I love how you can take a simple idea and make it your own with just a few simple accents.  My husband's co-worker and his wife were able to adopt one of their foster children and I wanted to give them a little family gift as a congratulations.  I  know I loved root beer floats as a kiddo (and so did my hubby) so I thought a little play on that would be fun!
I bought a 6-pack of A&W Root beer and just dressed it up with a couple of fun paper straws and a gift card for our local ice cream place...instant celebration root beer floats...gotta love it!
Above is the gift card with a space for a hand written note inside.  The family really enjoyed this little gift and seeing the smiles on the boys was wonderful!  I'm linking this up to the Great Impressions October Challenge which is "For the kids."  I think this fits perfectly!

All stamps and files are from Jaded Blossom and SVG Cutting Files. Again, I'd love to add you to my gifting group on Facebook so just leave me a little comment if you are interested!

October has arrived...

Good morning friends!  'Tis the time of year where Halloween is everywhere (and yes, I know Christmas stuff is out too but lets not talk of that, okay?) so I've started making some fun gifting ideas for my Facebook gift group (please feel free to ask for entrance into the group and let me make your treats, cards, and gifts just for you!).  Today I share a card with you.  I don't know about you but I like to send cards to my grandparents that live pretty far away and also I have a couple of nieces that love to get cards in the mail so I guess I have a few more to make, huh?  Anyway, here is the first of several cards that I'll have for sale in my shop:
This card was super fun to make and I really enjoyed coloring it!  So, I made an error and forgot to finish something before I took a photo of this...can you find it?  I just had to laugh at myself.  I have corrected it and it is all set to go now!

Alright, have a wonderful Monday friends!

Travel Log...

Good morning!  Had to laugh at my post's title...does anyone remember what it is from?  Anyway...my hubby and I took a 2 1/2 week road trip this summer.  We had a wonderful time together (and we are even still married...lol!).  We got to see my niece at the Air Force academy, my grandma in Iowa and then we visited our family in Wisconsin to help celebrate my in-laws 50th wedding anniversary and my husband's nephew's marriage the following weekend.  5,000 miles on our car--phew, but worth it!

I made us a travel journal where we put in gas info and bullet journaled about our days...where we stayed, what we saw, what was good, what was bad, etc.  I love that journal and we plan on using it for future trips together.  I just wish I would have saved one page between each day to just throw one photo in from each day in there.  Oh well!  Without further ado...the travel log:
It was absolutely wonderful that I had just purchased some wonderful travel stamps from Jaded Blossom as they worked perfectly for this notebook and as it happens I had that paper just hanging around my croffice so that was perfect too!  I would encourage you to do something like this the next time you travel!

It's Friday...yay!  Tomorrow is World Card Making Day, are you planning to craft your day away?
