A True Love Story

Happy Wednesday friends!  Yay, we are half way though the week!  How has your week been so far?  I've had some time to be in my crafty room and managed to make two cards the other day so I'll be sharing one with you today...
This card is for my mom and dad.  I followed the Taylored Expressions sketch for this week and also the color challenge which was just Clean and Simple.  I think I won at both of them!  Though the sketch is from Taylored Expressions the stamp I used on the outside is from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps.  I love that I can make a CAS card around this fabulous sentiment.  They will be married 49 years here is a couple of weeks...they are one special couple for sure!  I almost feel like I should be planning their 50th wedding anniversary now!
Inside I added some hearts and a sentiment from Jaded Blossom, again CAS and perfect!  The patterned paper is some retired SU! in-color paper and the twine is from Trendy Twine.

I'm also going to add this to the follow challenges:

Make My Monday Challenge - Sentiment is the focus
Craft Your Passion - Anything Goes

Well, you all have a wonderful day and I'll see you on Friday!

Early birthday...

Happy Monday friends!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend!  Our youngest son is turning 18 next month but we gave him his gift yesterday so a bit early.  Why you may ask?  Well, this son pretty much loves anything Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons so I did a little search (gotta love Google don't ya?) and found that the theater presentation of Jersey Boys was going to be in Seattle this month so hubby and I decided we would take him to The Paramount Theater to see the show but first would be brunch at the Space Needle (which we have done before but is a big treat!) all for his 18th birthday!  This was all to be a surprise so we conspired with our son's employer to get him the day off, informed him the night before that he was to be up, fully dressed (dress pants, button down collared shirt, and tie) and ready to go by 8 a.m. on Sunday.  On the way to the Space Needle we gave him this card with the tickets for the show inside:
Like many soon to be 18 year old boys our son also likes to play video games.  He also loves the Green Bay Packers and the Wisconsin Badgers so I colored the images with those colors and, honestly, it represents him well though he does not skateboard.  :)  For this card I followed the CAS(E) this sketch #163 for this week.  This stretches the sketch a bit AND it stretched me quite a bit but I really love the way it came out!  The image and eat, sleep, game! sentiment are from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps but, unfortunately, they are no longer available.  The 'happy birthday' sentiment is from Jaded Blossom as are the star dies.

I'll be back later this week to share photos of the day!

What does the fox say?

This fox says...CaUTE!  Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps owner Kim had a live card making session on Periscope yesterday and I just had to join in so I purchased the stamp (which I wanted anyway) and even the card kit and made my card along with Kim!  It was really fun to make a card without really having to thank any of the details out!  And now for your viewing enjoyment...the fox says...awww....

I used to be super intimidated by KKS and her design team because their coloring is off the hook but I have found the more I use them the better my coloring becomes and I'm not so intimidated to color their stamps.  Why am I telling you this?  Because...I don't want you to be intimidated in your crafting, just give new things a try and you may be surprised!!

Have a wonderful Saturday everyone!

I reckin'...

Hello and happy Saturday all!  It has been a cloudy, sometimes rainy day here which as been perfect to work on some crafting in my Croffice!  My question for you...have you ever made something that you just love and can't wait to share?  Well, today is one of those days for me!  I made this card for a friend's birthday and I love it so much I want to share it with you right away!
I used Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Book Pal set for this card, colored with Copics and then put together this card with fun papers from a super old (like more than four years old) TE paper kit (I love that have several of these still hanging around!).  The friend that this card is for is a sewer and quilter extraordinaire so I went with the thread bobbins at the top and added some fun coordinating papers and embellishments including some fabulous twine from Trendy Twine that I just got (it is seriously pretty...two colors of brown and white in that twist).  The die cuts are with dies from the Jaded Blossom die set called Border Dies.  I'll be entering this is the Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge #305 which is to use Twine and also to Kraftin' Kimmie Wonderful Wednesday Challenge which is anything goes and they post a sketch you can use if you want which is what I used for this card.

So???  Isn't this just a seriously cute card?  I cannot wait to give it to the birthday girl!

October has arrived...

Good morning friends!  'Tis the time of year where Halloween is everywhere (and yes, I know Christmas stuff is out too but lets not talk of that, okay?) so I've started making some fun gifting ideas for my Facebook gift group (please feel free to ask for entrance into the group and let me make your treats, cards, and gifts just for you!).  Today I share a card with you.  I don't know about you but I like to send cards to my grandparents that live pretty far away and also I have a couple of nieces that love to get cards in the mail so I guess I have a few more to make, huh?  Anyway, here is the first of several cards that I'll have for sale in my shop:
This card was super fun to make and I really enjoyed coloring it!  So, I made an error and forgot to finish something before I took a photo of this...can you find it?  I just had to laugh at myself.  I have corrected it and it is all set to go now!

Alright, have a wonderful Monday friends!

The hardest to make...

The hardest cards to make have got to sympathy cards.  I've had to give several sympathy cards in the last month and mostly I've not made them.  I've had some Dayspring cards in my stash for awhile so I've used those and I made one a couple of weeks ago and today I made another.  I hope I don't have to do anymore for awhile!!

For this card I used the just newly released Sincere Sympathy set from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps.  I also used the sketch of the month from KKS.  The fabulous circle dies are from Jaded Blossom and the papers are all from a very old Taylored Expressions kit, love that I still have many of those available for use!

Inside is a simple sentiment along with another piece of patterned paper.  A little faux stitching finishes off the inside.

I've actually be crafting quite a bit recently just haven't had the time to share so I thought I would start with this card.  I'm also working on getting a schedule of sorts going now that Kyler is back to school.  I've put a cleaning schedule into place and I think I've set my afternoon hour(s) in my crafty room as well so I should be able to schedule posts in the afternoon for a next morning posting.  Hopefully that will get me going again.  :)

Be cheeky and wild and wonderful!

Well Hello there friends!!  I know it has been awhile since I was last here.  It gets discouraging not having visitors to my blog BUT if I'm going to get any visitors at all then I actually have to post so...I'm making it a priority again starting today!!  Yay!

Kraftin' Kimmie had a Koffee Krop this weekend that, of course, I didn't get to attend because it was in Canada but I did follow along on their Facebook group and it was really a lot of fun!  I decided to play along with one of the challenges they have, paper piecing.  I've always really love paper piecing and the fact that it makes it so I don't have to color as much..lol!  Here is my card made with one of the fabby images from Book Pals!
Ack!  Isn't she just adorable and oh so fun!  I've made this one as a birthday card for my SIL.  This image (which I believe is to be like Pippylongstocking) reminds me of me in my childhood...long hair and freckles...and super happy!  The papers are from Stampin' Up! and the dimensional banner die from Jaded Blossom.  I love every single thing about this card.  It makes me happy just looking at it and because of that I'm entering it in the paper piecing challenge at Kraftin' Kimmie's blog. By the way KKS has a sale every Friday of a select number of stamps that Kimmie chooses herself.  They are always between 20-50% off so they are a great deal.  Do remember the prices are in Canadian dollars so when they convert they are super affordable!!  I just purchased the Halloween Card Kit and I can wait to get it and show you guys!  I also noticed that Craft Your Passion Challenges has an anything goes challenge so I think I'll enter this card there, too!

Well, there it is...my first post of many!!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend and that you'll stop by regularly to see what is going on in my little world!  Oh!  If anyone has great tips for taking wonderful photos of my artwork would you please leave a comment - - I'd like to make them look super nice for you all!

Father's Day THIS Sunday!!

It's coming...are you ready?  I am!!  I finished up all three of my Father's Day cards yesterday.  Check 'em out!
The above card was made completely with cutting files on my Cameo.  Have I said I LOVE my new Cameo?  I would never have been able to get these cuts with my old Cricut (it was fine for simple things).  This card is for my FIL as my husband tells me his dad has a board just like this in his garage!!  The cut file is from the Cameo store so no link for you.
Above is the card for my dad.  I have lots of memories of my dad cooking for us on the grill so this is just perfect!  This image is from the Wild & Crazy Guys! set by Kraftin' Kimmies Stamps.  The card itself is a cut file from SVG Cutting Files which made putting this together super easy.  Oh!  And the 'dad' on the front is a freebie from Miss Kate Cuttables (best freebies ever on their Facebook group!).
And finally this one is for my 'other' FIL.  A man who took me on as a daughter years ago and puts up with me still!  This image is from the Wild & Crazy Guys! set as well, the layout is from SSSC and papers are super old Basic Grey papers.

I love each one of these for how well they capture the person they are going to.  So much fun and care was had making these!!  Do you have your cards ready to go?

Congrats...

Good morning!  I can't believe it is Saturday, May 16th, already...May is just flying by!  I've had some time in my croffice the last few days and thought I'd share with you a card I made.  I've been wanting this Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps set, Cave Kids, for awhile now and she  had a sale so I bit the bullet and paid the shipping (have I ever mentioned I don't like to pay shipping?) to get it here (KK is in Canada) and I'm SO glad I did.  It is SO cute, stamps beautifully and I think my card turned out great!
I wanted an earthy type of paper for this card but then ran across this paper and thought it would be perfect!  My cave girl has a wonderful sense of style with her pink polka dot dress...what animal she would have made that from I have no idea but that isn't the point is it?  Anyway, the paper is an old Basic Grey paper pad called Hopscotch, the twine is from Papertrey Ink (I got it a LONG time ago) and the inside sentiment is from A Muse Studio (it is so frustrating when things are coming out so nice then you stamp the last thing and it is crooked.  Ugh!!).  It was hard but I put the card in the mail today to the intended recipient...I'm sure she will love it too!

You're Tweet!

Good morning!  I have been crafting lots recently just haven't taken photos of some of it yet or been able to get it blogged.  I'm working on some cards for a local children's store and want to get a few more made before I photograph them but they are looking cute!

Last night I needed to make a thank you card for our neighbor so I grabbed out the newest stamp club/die club set from The Stamps of Life called birdcage2stamp and got to work.  I knew I wanted to use a sketch so I decided on the sketch for the month from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps.  Thankfully you don't have to use one of their images to play along!  And this last week's Wonderful Wednesday is Anything Goes...yay!
The papers all come from a very old Taylored Expressions kit and I even used twine on my card which is Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps theme of the week!  I'll also be entering this into the Craft Your Passion Anything Goes Challenge.  Go me!
Inside the card I added some extra cardstock and a little bird from the TSOL set.  It's really cute and I'm excited to give it to my neighbor as a thank you card.

So, I'll be back at making some sample cards for the children's store today...well, after I order the corsage for my son's prom date!

Fun day ahead and I hope you have one too!
