Hopscotch

Good morning friends!  I know...how crazy is it that I'm posting again today?  I just want to show you a fun project I made with MyMemories Suite and a new kit from A-Manda Creation called Outdoor Artist
I went to the dollar store to find a package of sidewalk chalk but what I found was this super fun hopscotch kit.  It includes chalk, bean bag place markers, and directions.  On the header I used the hopscotch image from A-Manda Creation and made a little scene and I added a little rhyme that I remember using as a kid when I played hopscotch, Teddy Bear Teddy Bear.  Does anyone else remember that?

Anyway, it was super fun to make and I'm looking forward to giving this away.  I just want you to remember that while yesterday was a fun day with a day off, BBQ's and friends today someone will learn that there loved one was killed in action.  Always keep our military members in your thoughts and prayers...there is way more going on in Afghanistan than the government and t.v. lets on.

Have a great Tuesday!

Have a beautiful day!

Hello there friends! I know...it has been forever since I posted and I really do apologize!  Today is the beginning of a new sketch at Sketches by Carly and I like to play along if I can so that is why I'm here today!  I do want you to stop by tomorrow, though--I have an exciting announcement for you that will bring me (and hopefully you) to my blog much more often!

I decided to combine both of my design teams today.  A-Manda Creation has a super cute new kit out called Outdoor Artist.  It is SO perfect for those photos of your kiddos play with chalk on the sidewalk.  In fact, I'll have a fun project for you to see with that specifically in mind next week!  Anyway, I thought the kit was cute enough to make a card with so I designed this card with the SBC sketch in mind.
On the inside I used some basic grey and white cardstock with one of the adorable butterflies from the kit to make the inside just as much fun as the outside.  I can't wait to send this off to someone!

So, that is it from me today but I'll be back tomorrow with fun news!  Have an amazing Friday!

Backyard BBQ

Good morning! Now that you've made it past Monday how is your week looking?  Mine is pretty normal...some days busier than others but that is good and typical, huh?  I thought I'd come here and show you some super fun pages I made with a new kit that Amanda has made called Backyard BBQ.  I don't have any specific photos for this set right now but we have an annual Memorial Day BBQ that I thought this kit would be perfect for so...I made up the pages ahead of time!
I like the idea of the pages done ahead of time so that I know exactly how many and what orientation the photos should be.  I could even stage some of the colors if I wanted.  My favorite part of this layout is the little scene I made on the left hand side.  I just love making up stuff like that!

Anyway, I hope you are getting lots of crafting done, whatever type of crafting you love!  We are getting VERY close to the wedding and that is getting exciting!  I do believe I'll have another wedding card for you all to view pretty soon!  I know, I know...why do I need so many?  I don't--I just like making them!

Well, you guys have an amazing day!  I'll be back soon!

Birthday Circus

Good morning friends! I am back today to show off a super cute and fun kit newly released at A-Manda Creation! This kit is called Birthday Circus and, as you can see, can be used for pages other than birthday. I've never taken my kids to a circus or used that theme for birthday's so I wasn't sure what I was going to do.  I decided the bright colors and fun embellies could be used for just about anything though so I found some photos of Kyler from preschool and scrapped those instead!

So above is the two pages next to each other. I didn't just flip the layout this time but instead used the same papers in a different way.  Then I used the same type of photo layout but less photos on the right side.  I really like the way these came out.

Okay, so that is it for today.  I should be back to share more soon.  I haven't shown you the Easter goodies I made so maybe I'll be back with that.  Have a fantastic day friends!

It's A Luau!

Okay, don't fall off your chair! I'm back posting again today! I have another page for our Hawaii album that I want to share.  This one is made with the Tropical Easter kit again.  You will probably never see the Easter portion of that kit but I can tell you I'm enjoying the tropical portion!
This page layout is from the Let's Get Sketchy challenge for this week.  I just adore the layout and my page.  As the page says after we got checked in our hotel and settled a bit a luau at the hotel was the first thing we did.  It was a bit silly but it was fun none the less.  We sat at a table of mostly older people and had wonderful conversation with them.  We were so blessed to be able to go on that trip!

Alright, I hope you'll be back tomorrow as I have my Sketches by Carly card to share with you.  Until then...have a great day!

Tropical Easter

Good morning all! Just stopping in this morning to show you a couple of pages I did with a fantastic new kit from A-Manda Creation called Tropical Easter.  I'm sure you are thinking...Easter?  Yep, the kit has fantastic, fun Easter elements in it but I used the tropical elements to make the first of my pages from our trip to Hawaii a couple of years ago.

I had a lot of fun creating my little scenes on my pages with the elements.  I'm looking forward to using this kit more as I get into more Hawaii photos.  First, though, I have to find them all.  I went to my folder and it doesn't look like they are all there soo...a search has got to happen first.

That is all I have for you today.  Hope your day is wonderful AND...

Today is Todd's daughter's birthday so...Smiley from millan.net

P 52--Week 12

Good morning friends! I hope you had a wonderful weekend! Mine was pretty good!  I didn't get a whole bunch accomplished but I still feel good about what I did get accomplished including the scrapbook pages I'm showing you today!  A-Manda Creation has a brand new kit out called Movie Night.  It is SO fun that I tried to talk Kyler into having a movie themed birthday party but he stuck with the football theme instead.  I know he'll have a much better time with his football theme though!
These are the pages for week 12 of my P52.  I am right on track with this project and, frankly, I'm pretty happy with myself for sticking with it this long.  In between these layouts I create for the A-Manda Creation creative team as well as for things like Jon's mid-tour leave and I'm going to take on my Hawaii photos here this week.  Should be fun!
I went to see Act of Valour with my friend, Lori (yep, Lori and she was the first person that I met when we moved here).  Her son recently enlisted in the Army, completed basic training and moved to New York.  Lots of change for her!  Anyway, I wasn't sure how I was going to do with the movie but it was actually really good!  I enjoyed it a lot...'til the end when...well, I won't tell you so that if you see it I don't ruin it for ya.
The photo above is approximately what the two page layout will look like together.  For whatever reason I couldn't get it exactly straight for the preview but I know it will look great all printed out!

So...I hope you have an amazing Monday!  It will be what you make it so make it a GREAT one!

Antique Rose

Yep, can you believe it? I'm here two days in a row!  Hope you are having a wonderful Wednesday so far!  I've got another scrapbook page to show you.  I received some photos of the Victorian house that my mom and dad turned into a bed and breakfast in the mail the other day and scanned a this photo to get a scrapbook of that time started.  I used the gorgeous kit from A-Manda Creation called Timeless.  That kit will be perfect for scrapping these pages!
This is my mom and dad.  I believe they used the photo on this page on the website they had for the B&B.  I think my mom would have liked this page!  I'm entering this into Lets Get Sketchy!'s 3rd Challenge.

Thought of the day:  Love on the ones your with as they won't always be with you.

More P52 Pages

Happy Tuesday friends! I just thought I'd stop in and show you my last two weeks of my P52 project. As we go through these longs weeks of March with not much going on it gets harder to find something to scrap about. Soon, though, things will be picking up and then I'll have all sorts of things to share!
So, during week 10 I joined a short term class at Jazzercise called Ballet Body.  It is pretty kick butt however I do find myself stronger each time I take the class...about three times a week.  My weight loss partners and I won that week, too.  And, I was elected Corresponding Secretary of my PEO chapter that week.  Both of these pages are made with Look Whoo, a new set from A-Manda Creation that isn't even out in the store yet.
Last week was a very slow week but good none the less.  we had a new Carl's Jr open up here in town.  Todd and Kyler went to the grand opening...arriving probably at 5:45 AM!  They were giving out coupons for a combo a week for a year for the first 75 (but actually gave away 95 of them) but Todd and Kyler didn't make it into that 95 people.  Funny thing is they didn't even eat there as they didn't have the time to wait.  They went to Perkin's.  Smiley from millan.net

Alright, there you have it for the day.  I hope your week is going well so far!  We are supposed to get some snow today, rain tomorrow.  Ick!  I'm so done with winter!

Thought of the day:  The phrase 'working mother' is redundant.

P52 Week 9

Good Wednesday morning all! Here we are at Wednesday this week.  This is the part of the week that always just flies right by...next thing I know it is Friday.  I like that!  I've got my most recent P52 pages to show you today.  Nope, they don't match and I'm totally okay with that.  Since the content was completely different as far as pictures went (and I wanted to play with a new kit) I decided to go mis-matched.  Kinda fun, I think!
So the kit on the right is another new one by A-Manda Creation called Beary Lucky.  It is crazy how fast Amanda is cranking out these great new kits, huh?  In case you can't tell it is a St. Patrick's Day kit but has plenty of accents for non-St. Patrick's Day layouts, too.  I gotta tell you though...I can't wait to get some St. Patty's pictures so I can use the cute bear embellishments, too!  (Click on the photo to see the pages larger)

Alright, friends...this is just a short post today so I'm off.  I hope you have a fantastic day today!

Thought of the day:  Love your parents.  We are so busy growing up we often forgot they are busy growing old.

Timeless

Good Monday morning friends! I hope you had a great weekend!  It was a pretty low key weekend for me...as usual.  Today, I have a couple of pages to show you that are from another new A-Manda Creation kit.  This kit is called Timeless and is amazing for any older type of photos you might have.  I'm awaiting some photos of the bed and breakfast my mom and dad used to own.  It was called the Antique Rose Bed & Breakfast and I know the photos will be perfect with this kit.  In the meantime I've made a couple of pages with some old photos of me that I found the other day.
The above pages has the oldest of the photos that I found.  The bigger photo is of me when I was 6 months old.  The photo on the top right is my brother and I and the bottom photo is of me with my grandma.  Those photos are a treasure for me.
The photos above are, obviously, school aged photos.  I don't know exact ages and I stink at guessing that type of thing but I'd say the top two are late elementary/early middle school and the bottom is probably 2nd grade or so.

I'm trying to figure out how to place two 12x12 pages on one 12x24 layout out so that I can show you them side by side.  I haven't figured it out yet but I will!  I may have to use PSE...we shall see.

That is it for today.  Have a wonderful Monday!  See you soon!

Thought of the day:  Made today ridiculously amazing!

Purple Petals

Good morning friends!  How is your week going?  Good I hope.  If it hasn't...hang in there...the weekend is coming and maybe you can get some rest then!  I have a couple of more scrapbook pages for you.  These are using the new Purple Petals kit from A-Manda Creation.  I normally don't have any reason for a purple colored kit, having all boys you know, but I really like how these turned out.
Todd and I love to spend time in Leavenworth for our anniversary.  We go through the shops, eat at our favorite restaurants, stay at our favorite bed and breakfast (that is if we can stay two nights as that is their requirement) and recently we added some hiking into the mix.  I love that!  The views are just incredible!  This particular anniversary we added a guided wine tour in an SUV limo to the mix of things.  While it was fun I wish we would have paid the extra for it to just be Todd and I.  A couple of people in the group were a bit...unique.  I guess many people would think Todd and I are unique, too though so I'll just be quiet now. Smiley from millan.net
I hope you like these pages.  I think they are quite lovely.  Tomorrow is a new sketch from Sketches by Carly so I hope you'll stop by so see what I came up with!  I can tell you that I really like my card this time AND I didn't forget this time!

Thought of the day:  Be yourself. An original is always worth more than a copy.

Purple Petals P52

Good morning! Thanks for stopping by today to see what is up on my blog. Today I have a couple of scrapbook pages to show you that use a new kit from A-Manda Creations called Purple Petals.  Now, for me using purple is a difficult thing to do as I don't have girls but i think I did a pretty good job using the kit for my P52 pages from Feb 5-12.  Take a look!
We were having a nice sunny day about a week and a half ago (not recently though as it has been raining for a couple of days) so we opened the front doors so the dogs could lay in the sun.  Isn't that just too cute?  Don't they look like they like each other?  That would not be true.  Mitzi, the black dog, doesn't care for Trixie, the wiener dog, at all but Mitzi is old and Trixie is only a year old and likes to play and I think that is why.  It is kinda funny to watch them get at each other! (Yes, we make sure they are both safe!  It is even funny to watch Trixie play with our big dog.)
And the above page has photos from our cupcake tasting for the wedding.  We'll have four different types of cupcakes for the guests and a traditional cake on the top for Scott and Ashley to cut.  that was a very yummy day!

You just got a clue of the pretty elements in the Purple Petals kit.  Make sure you go check it out to see more!

Well, that is it for today.  I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!

More Valentine's Day

Good morning friends! I hope your Monday was wonderful! Today I have a couple of scrapbook pages to show you. I was going through my photos on my computer and came across these photos from Kyler's kindergarten Valentine's Day Party. I thought they would be perfect for the Love Monster kit from A-Manda Creation. I gotta tell ya...I love these pages!
While I think Kyler looks much the same now as he did in these photos it is amazing to me how different he looks too.  I love the tongue sticking out on the top photo.  He still does that when he plays the drums sometimes!  Smiley from millan.net
Can you tell I'm still loving digi scrappin'?  It really has changed my view of preserving memories for my family!

Okay, just a quick one today.  Have a great day today!

Love Monster Birthday

Good morning friends! I hope you had an amazing weekend! Did you get lots done? Go somewhere special? Are you all set for Valentine's Day?  I have just a couple of more things to make for Valentine's Day but they are easy schmesy so it won't take me any time at all today.

I'm back to show you the pages that I made with the new kit from A-Manda Creation called Love Monster.  Yep, it is supposed to be a Valentine's kit but I thought with the bright colors and candy that it would would for a birthday too!
These are photos from Kyler's 8th birthday and he will be 14 in two months.  I can't express to you how much all the boy have grown and changed over the years but all of them are just still such good kids!  I have to tell you that my favorite thing about both of these pages is on the page below.  See the eyeballs?  I just think they are so goofy and fun!  They just make me giggle each time I look at that page.  I can't wait to get this one printed off!
One little side note...I love the young photo of Jon on the bottom page, too!  Scott, of course, was way to old to come and help out...he would be 18 at this time.  Holy moly how time has flown right by!

Alright, so...I'll show you my other Valentine's crafts tomorrow and then more scrapping pages later this week.  Have a super day today!

Thought of the week:  For you wives out there...The Bible says a wife can win over her husband without saying anything, because what he observes in his wife speaks more loudly than what she tells him.  "They, without a word, may be won by the conduct of their wives."  (1 Peter 3:1) ~Stormie Omartian.  Remember your mom saying to you 'actions speak louder than words'?  Yeah, it applies in marriage too.  Smiley from millan.net
