PDE Linky Party

Welcome back to PDE Linky Party day here on my blog!  I'm excited to share my project with you so lets get started!

It's that time of year again when we get the chance to celebrate the accomplishments of our graduates.  At my house I have a son graduating high school and that means, of course, we know several people that will be graduating too.  That said a friend of mine has a daughter that is graduating from medical school and will move on to the East Coast for her residency as a surgeon...very exciting!  This girl's husband is also graduating as a pediatric nurse practitioner so my friend asked me to make some personalized cards for the graduates.  I happily accepted and these cards are the result!
First you see the surgeon card that I made for my friend's daughter.  We are all pretty proud of her!  The base of both cards is from SVG Cutting files and is Base Kit A.  Then I used the Doctor's Medical Add On for both of the images uniforms. We really wanted the surgeon to have a cap on so I just cut the hair again and then trimmed the hair to look like a skull cap.  That is a little knife in her hand that was made from the syringe file in the Medical Add On.

The doctor coat and stethoscope are also from the add on file.  I really loved how quickly both of these files went together!  I did forget to do some highlighting on our nurse practitioner but I added it later.  Oh, and the size of these cards is 5"x7".

Well, there you have it!  I hope you'll check out what all of the design team had to show off for the linky party and link up your own projects!

PDE Linky Party Day!

Hello friends!  It's FRIDAY and it is a PDE Linky Party Day on my blog!  Once a month I get to choose a project to share with you for the linky party and I like those projects to be fun and something I don't normally do.  Without further ado...my project!

To make these little note cards I used four 4x6 Project Life Cards (they come already scored for folding).  I used the SU! set Words of Truth for the sentiments on each of the cards.  Due to the fact that the stamp set was a rubber set I used my stamp-a-ma-jig to place the sentiments on each card.  A little more time consuming then I had originally thought but worth the effort!  These notecards are to give to my son or husband as little love notes but a little more 'manly'.  :)

Well, there you have it!  I hope you'll head over to the PDE Linky Party blog to check out what the design team made as well as enter your own project in the challenge!

For this card I used some paper that I had in my stash, some Trendy Twine, and the sentiment is from Kraftin' Kimmie.  Want to play along?  Here's how:

Birthday Rose

Good morning and welcome to my stop at the PDE Linky Party!  Today I'm sharing with you a card that I made for my friend Eva.  This one was truly a challenge for me as I don't normally color images that are this large but I have to tell you that I LOVE how it turned out!  Clean, simple, and just downright pretty!
The rose image is from the SU! set called Rose Wonder and the sentiment is from Jaded Blossom's So Many Birthday's 2 set.  I added some crystals and then used a glitter pen on the flowers and rose itself just for some shimmer.

Our challenges at PDE Linky Party are always anything goes so I hope you'll hop on over, follow us, and participate in the challenges!

Welcome back to the PDE Linky Party!

It's another fun week for me to showcase the PDE Linky Party.  You know, even though it is the Christmas Season there are still birthdays and the like to celebrate and today's card is for one of those birthdays...my dads birthday.  I actually lost track of time and ended up starting a card way to late but I'm still super happy with how this turned out!

So I got the base and panels for this card from the Silhouette Store.  The file itself comes with full birthday decorations but I wanted to be able to use my Jaded Blossom Birthday Panel stamp set and die so I altered it a bit to work for me.
This is what I'd consider the front.  Since there is cake and ice cream on the card I thought this sentiment would go great.
The middle two panels.  I had fun coloring the ice cream though I do believe I was drooling by the end.
And the last panel.  You can't tell from the photo but I used Smooch moonlight on the frosting of the cupcake and the whipped cream of the ice cream sundae.  I also added Smooch illuminate on the candles to make them dance a little.

We wrote our note on the back of the card and put it in the mail right away.  I doubt it will be there on time as the weather in my area has been delaying all sorts of things...mail, UPS, you get the idea, but it is the thought that counts, right?

So, there you have it!  I hope you will join us this week over at the PDE Linky party where anything you create can go in the 'challenge'...just share with us your creations!

It's a first...

A first post for the PDE Linky Party at least!!  Not long ago I was perusing my favorite blogs when I noticed that PDE Linky Party was looking for some new design team members so I applied and they accepted me...fun!

What's super fun about the PDE Linky Party is that it is always Anything Goes!!  I mean you are creating anyway so you might as well link it up so we can ALL enjoy what you are creating!  This week I'm sharing a project my hubby and I made for our grandson.  It is a felt wall Christamas tree with felt ornaments!!  Now, he is only about 18 months old (will be on Dec 6th at least) and he hasn't shown much interest in it yet but I know over the next several years he'll think it is really neat to have his own tree!!

My hubby cut the tree out of the green felt and the trunk out of brown felt and I made the presents, star, and ornaments.  I made some with die and some with templates (just printed them from google) then I glued some of the pieces together with hot glue and wahlah...a cute felt tree just for William!  In future years I hope to have him help make some additional ornaments for the tree, too!

So, there you have it!!  What are you working on?  Do I get to see?  Make sure to go link up at the PDE Linky Party!

UPDATE:  My grandson played with the ornaments and tree last night!  Sorry for the blurry photo he is a whirlwind of motion!
